I hear you! I'm starting to germinate some of my vegis for this season. Gonna build a raised bed with railroad ties. I live in So Cal and it snowed yesterday. This morning my car has a layer of ice on it so think I had trouble opening the door. Come on Sun!

Snow in so cal is bizarre. I started my tomatoes this morning. Don't think I am going to do any herb outside this year. I think I am going to grow a giant pumpkin this year, I haven't grown one in the last two years, the neighbors keep asking why...well I've got a big ass patch of pot going, that's why!

Yup. Sick of this cold white shit. Ive got a bunch of flowers and tomatoes already growing under lights and will take them to the greenhouse in a week. We are finally getting some sunny days here in Michigan but its still cold and snowy.

I saw the California record get broke a couple of years ago, dude got over $9,000.00 on the spot. Sometimes you'll have all sorts of companies want to sponsor you with their products.

yea , then theres fairs, and pumpkin patchs for halloween that like to display them even if its not a record. pumpkin carvers. He treats those things like his babies, they have little huts they sit in while they are small that are automatically controlled to open up when the temp gets over a cretain point. But hey to every man his own!

Not sure how relevant this is anymore but I was at a nursery the other day picking the dudes brain on soil amendments for this shitty alkaline, cotton farm drained clay they call dirt in Texas. I mentioned wanting to do the same thing with railroad ties and he warned me against them because of the creosote and chemicals they treat them with will screw with the soil you fill it with. Just thought I'd put my pennies in. Do as you wish. :danger::passsit:

My tomatoes are making good progress, they have been getting week one useless formula since they sprouted. I'll probably plant all of them outside in the next couple of weeks. I am starting my giant pumpkin seeds today, they will get planted around the middle of April. A couple of years ago I got some seeds from a 1462 lb pumpkin (Gibson 1462), grew out two giant pumpkins from them and harvested the seeds. This is what I will be growing the pumpkin from.

What's in your garden? What will you be planting this year? Throw up some pics in this thread and lets get a veggy thread going!

I missed the onion weather but I'm thinkin some peppers- jalapeƱo, bell, Serrano. Cantaloupe, and some maters as well. Keeps the neighbors from wondering what I'm doing. Gonna get started plants cause I'm already behind on that.

I'd mix up a batch of tga supersoil, dig a big ass hole for each plant, fill it about three quarters full with supersoil and then one quarter of the soil you took out and then stand the fuck back and watch the magic happen. One batch filled 12 holes for me last year.

I'm in Michigan and already have flowers on the tomatoes, also have giant pumpkins, white pumpkins, bell peppers, cantaloupe, and wild pumpkins going now and will put in green peppers, more tomatoes, watermelon, zucini, cucumbers, corn and whatever else I can get ahold of at the end of the week when I have the next greenhouse up. Damn weather keeps freezing the ground, wednesday looks like it will be good to start.

I actually have a pile of soil that I made up after seeing your 12' grow log. I posted a pic on your thread of all the stuff I got before I started my own thread. I was gonna do pots but they stick out to much. I messed up and got miracle grow perlite not realizing it has nutes in it so its been sittin under a tarp and I turn and water it a few times a week. Looks like it will be pretty good dirt so thanks for the mix you put up.
