Summer Outdoor Grow #5

So recently i finally ran out of the stuff i grew last summer. I was down to my last final nug and i thought, "Shit i should kept one of the few seeds i found in the bud i harvested." Oh well. I started to chop the LAST SMALL NUG up and a big healthy seed popped out.

So i thought well it was kinda hard to find clones last spring so maybe ill germinate this seed and a few of my decade old bag seeds and see if i can get a "mother plant" going and make my own clones of last years crop. Turns out most of my bagseeds were way past due date and dried out. One bagseed sprouted and so did the seed i found from last years crop (healthy fresh seed).

So heres just a few pics of what i hope turns into 2 females for cloning this summers grow on my own. Im also getting clones as well, just incase my little plants dont turn out to be females. The clones im told ill be getting in a week or two are Northern Lights. Anyone know how well NL does outside?

Indica much? lol Now in this picture they are switched around and last years stuff in on the left. (Its a lot darker than that bagseed one growing next to it)


No pest problems to worry about.. the lady bugs show up at their own will. found 3 of em hangin out on the tops of my plants this week.


Man i just love how the HPS gets the plants so thick and dense before i put em outside. (These ones will not be going outside though, not untill i can get clones of em if they end up with vaginas.)

 

Looks good CD. Judging by your previous grows I don't think you'll have too many problems getting something good going. Good luck and can't wait til harvest time.:thumbs-up:

You got a nice start there Dan. The SC I grew was from Dutch Passion, and according to Useless and skunky it has NL in the mix and mine was very NL dominant. From the looks of mine I'm sure it's gonna do fine outdoors and you'll get some nice purples in your buds/leaves I'm sure.

Dont be fooled though, these few pictures are of a "test" im doing to see if i can clone on my first try at it. Im gonna switch em into 12/12 not this week, but sometime next week. I just tied em down again and i want the tops to stretch back up before i put em into flower.

I liked your grow last summer. Thats was one heck of a haul.

 

Transplanted the two (from Seed) plants into larger containers.... letting the roots stretch out as i switch em into 12/12.


Hopefully i see some white hairs popping out soon.


Here they are a couple days ago while still in the smaller containers.





Put into larger containers yesterday evening. Starting to tie them down. Im going to try and get them to grow all around the rim of the container to keep them away from the lamp above.





Tons of ladybugs lately. So many in fact, i keep finding dead ones on the floor every time i go in the room. They are f into that fan that has no cage around it. lol Ive got burn scars on my arms from reaching into that space and catching the plastic blades on my forearms. lol Its never a cut, more like severe rug burns.

Nice bushes man. What is the plan exactly for clones if your budding those babies?


P.S. I got 10 fat clones vegging (prepping for May already) of some sort of afghan blueberry (so buddy says), plus 3 feminized Hericules (Sannies), and 2 feminized Vanilla Kush (DNA). (seeds just sprouted yesterday though.)

What im planning on doing is if i can get clones they will go under the same light under a humidity dome. I will run the light 24/7...


Ill switch the (hopefully) mother plants back into veg after ive gotten my clones, long enough untill its warm outside during the evenings, and put em out there.


Im supposed to be getting actual clones from someone else too, so i might not even have to worry about these 2 plants. Just wait and see their sex is the plan right now..

Looking good!! I'm gonna keep an eye on this. My plant guy told me today I might be able to get my hands on some NL1 cuts in the next month. Good luck with the grow.

So im 95% sure they are both males.


Seeing little pods pop out, unless a white hair is gonna come out of it.

 

If the ball is more tear drop shaped then maybe but more than likely they are males. On females, I usually notice a white hair poking out the side before anything else.

 

I gotta get into this one this year. I say lets get a couple ppl together and start a thread and update weekly with pics on how they are doing. IDK let me know if anyone is down. Now this would have to be strickly outdoors tho.

I'm game. Doubt it will be competitive from my part cuz of the stealth & light of my outdoor spot but I'll gladly run an outdoor log with you guys. I'll probably only be able to update like 1-2x a month tho.

 

Okay so i let em go another full day, just to be positive, but ill let you guys back me up, just so im not jumping to conclusions. Although i KNOW they are most likely males, maybe im missing some knowledge on early sexing.

Well theyve been in 12/12 for around 2 weeks maybe so.....Its pretty obvious by now.


So now i play the waiting game on the clones i was promised. Hopefully i can score a bunch cause now id like to do 4 in the ground and 2 in pots this summer.

Sounds good! If i can get everything going as i hope for this summer, we'll get a thread going in the outdoor section. Hell maybe we can even get Mr Douglas to get an all outdoor month in the calendar sometime in the late summer/harvesting weeks.
