OK I now have a new, accurate and working TDS meter. Problem is I don't really know how to use it to get the full advantage. I was experiencing some leaf burns at the top, my old meter was showing me 900ppm (so I continued adding nutes). Anyway, to make a long story still long. I eventually figured out the meter was bad, it wouldn't even calibrate up to the 1380 solution. However, my new meter showed me the solution was actually out of range (over 2000, no wonder my pH constantly dove for 4.8) I changed the res once more and have a current solution of 1300ppm (300ppm from filtered tap water).

Now for my question. I am 5 weeks into flower and want to set the budding real nice for this last 2 weeks. The final week is for straight water. what would you (anyone) suggest for the final crucial budswelling stage I'm in. BTW my pH has been stable at 5.7.

Keep n mind I run Ebb& flow, 360HPS, Fox Farm Tiger Bloom, feed schedule is every 3 hours (lights on) for 30 minutes. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Woo Hoo 500!!!!!!!

JE, I am a big fan of B'Cuzz bloom stimulant. They have recently changed their formula however, so its now called Green Fuse.

I would augment your current ferts with:

Green Fuse Bloom Stimulant @ 1 teaspoon per gallon

FLouralicious Bloom Enhancer @ 1 teaspoon per gallon

Dark Energy @ 2 ml per gallon

That will give you the calyx swellling your looking for. And the flourlicous provides a great aroma and flavor.

Watch your ppm, as that might raise it 50-100ppm or so. Its all organic or organic based products, so you should be cool.

    Enjoy!

Cool, I'll have to see if I can find some on my trip to the hydro store. Do you think 1300ppm is adequate? How high can I tolerate? How much is not enough? Ballpark? I've never used a TDS meter before, but I want more control. Thanks, Use.

Wish I could answer your ? JE.

PRoblem is different ferts require different ppm's.

The Super NAturals only take 1000-1200 ppm max. during the last two weeks of flower.

GH nutes can run up to 1800ppm.

The guanos will run up to 2800ppm (in my testing so far, dont hold me to this one...)

I can only say, as a judge to what your plants are using, go by this:

IF your ppm rises as your water/solution level in the ressy drops from evaporation and water consumption, your ppm is too high.

If your ppm stays the same as your water level drops, you are at a stable ppm for nutrients.

If your ppm drops as the water level drops, you need to increase ppm.

    Hope that helps.
