Obama Care is hitting me hard . You all know I just had a total ankle replacement . Well my union changed our health care plan because the premiums went so high. I had to drive 1 1/4 hours to see the surgeon & 1 1/2 hours to the hospital for the operation . I sucked it up & did that got my ankle fixed .But before it was healed I fuck up a disk in my back lucky me. Now I got to drive 1 1/2 hours to is a surgeon laying in the back seat on my car because I can't sit. Then then Hospital is 2 hours away & I have to wait 2 months & I don't care for this surgeon. So here is the real kicker I have been off work since 2-21-14 & I lost my health care so I'm on Cobra $1224 a month just Got a letter it's going up next month to $1284 no big deal but they cut our plan again now we have deductibles pay more for prescriptions pay 20% for hospital surgery ,lab work ,x-rays,cat scans ,mri's just a big joke. By the way I'm a teamster with Kaiser Permanente health care stay away from these mothers fuckers you'll wait months to see a doctor & longer to get a surgeon. So thanks a lot OBAMA you just fuck this old guy. Rant over -Bud

that sucks....my son's meds arent even covered anymore. we had stellar cover but had to change because 'top heavy' and then we had to change that so we didn't get fined.

I feel you....i'm fucking pissed because I pay out of pocket now for meds me kid's been on since he was born, just so he can east without throwing up

Maybe we need to point some fingers at these greedy fucking insurance companies. "THEY" are the ones that set the rates and decide what is covered and where it's available. Your health is not their main concern, your money is. The door was opened by Obama Care but it's the insurance companies that's fucking everybody!!

at the same time you have to purchase coverage that you will never use.....i lost bad ass hospital and drug coverage but gained mental health and substance abuse coverage. Trust me, I will never use the latter...would love to have my previous coverage

I just priced out a whole family plan on my state's exchange that gives me way better coverage than I got thru my employers $1300 per month plan, for $300 per month. covers dental and three kids. I have been skeptical but not now. If it weren't for Obamacare I'd be shelling out $1000 more per month.

    THANK YOU OBAMA!

    whats you deductible?

  10. friendlyfarmer

Basically 100% coverage for preventative, 70/30 for most other stuff. Not great but better than 1000 more beans a month for insurance i never use.

Bud I didn't mean to be flippant about the distance you have to travel and the problems with the doctors. That sucks. Thank god I don't need any doctors right now (well, maybe I could use a WITCH doctor, or a psychologist) so it's easy for me to feel happy with a cheaper plan.

Lots of people feel trapped by health insurance, but remember it's a private product you buy from a private company whose first loyalty is to its CEO's third summer home, and then it's stockholders. We the insured are last on the list, except where our wallets are concerned.

On average the highest paid execs in America are health care administrators and insurance company management. These companies have been robbing American's blind for decades. Finally our government is stepping in to blow the fucking whistle already. And now I can get affordable health insurance.

FF, it's affordable for you BECAUSE Bud is paying so much for his.

If you think it's bad now, just wait until after the elections when the Companies stop paying for their employees insurance.

Here's a funny (odd) bit. before ObamaCare Health Insurers made about a 3.5% margin on premium sales. That means they profited $.035 of every dollar. They made their real money playing the pools of insured $$ in the market. Now, with the deal they made with ObamaCare, they are required to only spend 80% of premium dollars on actual insured health care expenses. Quite the trick huh? Yup....we sure leveled the playing field and hit those fat cats right where they live....with a big fat hug to their wallet. 3.5% profit on premiums vs 20%? Which one would you choose?

Not only make the purchase required by Law, but then hand them a bigger cut in return for market control. That's how the insurance companies were brought on board in the first place. Have a doubt? Why then is Forbes publishing articles like this one?

    or this one? http://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2014/03/21/another-sign-obamacare-works-wellpoint-boosts-profit-forecast/

Any rational human being who hasn't figured out that our Federal US government has pinned our figurative innocent little ankles up next to our ears and is assfucking us, without even the decency of a spit lube, is delusional.

As an aside; When States ran health insurance a State Commissioner would have never tolerated a company making 20% off premiums to do business in their State. But now the Feds say they have to.:BangHead:

Sorry Bud, you touched a nerve. What you're going through sounds like a serious PITA.

:passit: That old offer still stands.

There not only making a huge profit but the coverage sucks! Christ look at the deductibles on some of the plans its rediculous. You might as well pay the fine and pay out of pocket instead of paying the insurance fees on top of it. Wouldnt it be nice to live for a change without being screwed by every god damn company and also the government?

that's the thing T, our government is ran by corporations. Obama is the biggest conartist ever. He convinced (even me) that he was for the people....yeah right, he's for the corporations and instead of the american people coming together to realize this, he constantly uses the race card to keep the sides fighting

EXACTLY!!! They want us to be educated to be productive yet lack the knowledge to question the system. Smart enough to do your job but dumb enough not to rebel.

That 20% is for operating cost. Only about 1.1% of that is net profit.

Here's another funny... did you know that on average, persons in the prison/jail system score 5 points higher in IQ testing than the general population? Makes you wonder what direction we're going don't it?

All in all, I wanna see how many people actually got insured and how many will be insured this time next year. I see 8 million, but frankly that number is flat out bullshit, that includes medicaid and people that haven't even payed prems yet, let alone tried to file a claim.

All really did was expand medicaid, other than that no one really signed up. The ones that did were the ones that lost their coverage, not those seeking coverage.

At the end of the day, its just going to make universal coverage one step closer, which will suck to leave the country for medical treatment. Really this is about destroying the American dream and replacing it with some asinine concept of social justice.....because adults in this country are incapable of thinking or providing for themselves.

Just like the $15/hr McD worker......where's the reset button??

I know this did help some, like FF said even here on the board.....but it did take a lot away from some of us too. I'm not a 1% and Obama is killing me with his dumb ass ideas....and his bigfoot of a wife also with her retarded Dr Oz style approach to childhood nutrition
