What's crackin GK? Got a question. I kind of use a hybrid of the Useless GH3 formula. "Kind of" and "hybrid" mean that since my ppm meter broke I've become acustom to just using my pH variations and physical states of the plant to calculate optimal nutrient levels. Until recently I've stuck with strains that have me flushing at about 7 weeks of flowering. I'm growing Ice (Nirvana) and from some of it's reviews I need to watch my buds and pay no attention to the recommended 8 to 10 weeks of flower advertised. Worse case scenario we're talking 14 weeks of flower by one of the reviews and many more telling of around 11 weeks. How do I apply Useless's Formula to strains that may flower for 11 weeks or more or can it be applied? I'm at 4 weeks of flower running 400w of hps with cfl side-lighting. I'm using Moon Dust (19-8-13) and Nirvana Bloom Booster (0-0-1) since week 2 of flower. Do I continue the nutes and booster until week 9 or do I stop the booster at week 7 and continue the nutes until week 9 or stop both at week 7 and just give pH adjusted water until done?
run the formula as normal and just keep app week 8 for the additional weeks (9,10,11), dont forget to flush for atleast 10 days minimum
Actually what Useless told me was to run week 4 for any additional weeks. But that is provided that you know how long the strain will take to finish. So if you know that the strain is a 12 week strain for example. Once you reach week 5 you repeat the week 4 feed schedule for weeks 5, 6, 7, and 8 (the 4 addition weeks of flower). When you reach week 9 you give week 5 nutes (Bloom Booster if you have it), week 10 gets week 6 nutes, and week 11 would get week 7 nutes if you feed during that week. The last 10-14 days should be flush time, so no nutes are needed. The Useless schedule that is posted is for 8 week strains. The first time I ran the Useless formula I was in week 7 of an 11 week strain before I realized the same issue you just brought up. I asked Useless what to do and he told me what I posted above but at the time I was already past week 4 of flower so he told me to just use week 7 for the additional weeks of flower needed to get to 11. It worked out pretty well, the plants didn't get too deficient before the end, just a little bit. Yields were still good. So if you don't know how long the strain is going to take you can just apply week 7 nutes to the additional weeks it takes up until you start flushing. But of you know how long the strain goes for follow the other method and you will get optimum results.
WTF did you just say??? Can you put that in a graph or something? I always did what CC said, I'm not sure I picking up what you are putting down:eusa_eh: Confused on this one What would you run on 9-10 weeker as most strains are
weird cuz Useless told ME to run the 8 week cycle for any additional weeks Wheres Matlock when u need em?
I think he told me that also a few years ago...I just don't know why you would feed nitrogen late in flower, seems wrong to me, but I'm not the expert. Like even with Cal-Mag, you can stop once you hit about week 5 or 6 because it doesn't matter after that and most cal-mag has nitro in it
I'm just telling you what Useless told me. I asked him specifically about this scenario and I regurgitated it pretty much verbatim as best I can remember. If I still had the PM I would post it up but I don't. It's really simple but it just seems confusing at first. You're not feeding N late in flower. It's all respective to how long a strain flowers for. It's like this 10 week strain:---------------What Week of the Useless 8 Week Schedule To Feed Week 1------------------------Week 1 Week 2------------------------Week 2 Week 3------------------------Week 3 Week 4------------------------Week 4 Week 5------------------------Week 4 Week 6------------------------Week 4 Week 7------------------------Week 5 (With or Without Bloom Booster) Week 8------------------------Week 6 Week 9------------------------Week 7/Flush Week 10-----------------------Flush asssit:
Ras's seems to make more sense since the flowers on a longer strain aren't developed enough to be getting the booster at week 5. I remember one of Useless's grows where he was holding off on the booster week because he thought the flowers weren't developed enough and was going to run week 4 nutes for a couple more weeks. (or I could just be a stoner and thought I read that....:bduh :kidding: I read it. I've done it both ways and waiting has made the buds better and bigger. But then again I have always adapted other's growing technics into my own, ie: I ph my water to 5.8 before I flush and add nutes the next day. It works for me.
Ras is right. Use week 4 for any additional weeks beyond 8. CC are you sure man? If I said that I must have been really really wasted.
I think you told me that as well. But I think it was with new strains and not knowing how long they were to go, basically if they weren't going to be done in 8 weeks on a 8-10 strain. But you're not adding nitro late in flower, that's what through me off, I though he was saying at first to go 1-7, then go back to 4 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-4-5-flush...misunderstood Ras
Well, suck me sideways... Good tho, fills in a space of mistaken info, itll make the system work better!asssit: Use, it was a looong time ago, maybe I even read it wrong, who knows
The only reason I could think of that I would say just go with week 8 for additional weeks is if you were already past week 4 and nearing the end of the cycle.
don't lie, you were just trying to have Ras out grow us...kidding but that does make sense, even with Boaster because I followed the schedule but if it was a 10-11 weeker I would wait until about week 7 or 8 to hit with MOAB. Once you can see the swelling
ive been running the same ole gear for far too long i think, im just used to my ways within what i have, albeit AWESOME!
