    Hello all,

First time grower here. So far up until recently all was going well with the grow. I'm using seeds I got from some bud I got when on vacation in Jamaica. I'm using Scotts soil and peters 20-20-20. I started under floros on 24 hour cycle and was using this light for about a month. I just got a 400 hps last week. I water once a week and use about a gallon of water mixed with the peters for all 4 plants. Well one of my taller plants started wilting and the new growth looks dry and deformed. The other plants arent wilting but on the new growth show the same symptoms just not as severe. I'm not sure if its a lack of mg or over fert. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks! resize1.JPG

It looks like you might have burned them with the light. How far is the light from the plants? You should also have a fan blowing in the grow room, AND an intake/exhaust system to help control that. most flourescent growers lack the ventilation needed for HID lights in small spaces, since flourescents dont make alot of heat.

What light regiment do you have them on? are you flowering them yet? a 20-20-20 fert might be too strong to use every week.

but i would wait for someone else to tell you what they think before i would take my advice lol :)

I have a floor fan on at all times and I leave the door cracked open for fresh air. The light is about 12 inches from the canopy maybe a little more. The temp in the room is about 83 degrees and the humidity is 45%. I just started 12/12 yesterday. Ph seems good.

maybe you need to water more often. You will have to water more often under the hps than you did under the flos. You should also never feed when the soil is dry. you must also be very careful using those chemical fertilizers. over fertilizing shows up at the top of the plant first.

I would add ferts every other watering. As far as the deformity, they can be caused by many things and usually an imbalance of some kind. Sometimes it's also strain related. You can actually cause more problems trying to pinpoint the problem if there is one ie. changing this, changing ferts etc. I've personally had a number of plants deform in the past and never found out why........but in any event they did correct themselves and continue to grow normally in every case. I would suggest just riding it out and see what happens.

Cool, I have noticed the soil dries out faster under the hps. I'll do the every other watering for the ferts. Other than that I'll just leave it be and see whats happens. I just feel like a mother caring for his kids with these things. Haha. Thanks for the help guys!
