HeyHey yalls~ Im a new- very new -grower and in my constant quest for information Ive noticed something. It seems that for the most part...no one ever takes the time to revist the nuts and bolts, down to earth basics of growing a small garden for your own use. I guess it must be the "bigger is always better thing". Now...Im going to make this clear. I have NO problem with those who grow with these high tech methods-Ive smoked enough of the results to know it does work well. But there are still a few of us who want to grow but are quite limited in terms of money, space, etc. and are somewhat put out by the thought of having to purchase expensive lighting systems, fans, hydro equipment, and so on. And lets not forget the paranoia factor that comes with buying and running all that stuff. In my mind the more equipment you have to run and maintain...the higher your risk of unpleasant consequences. So whats a new grower to do? My intention is certainly not to offend anyone here..and Im sorry if I have done so. I just wonder sometimes.
Very well put. If I were so paranoid I'd just grow outdoors if weather permit. Weed is just that a WEED. If you plant a seed in the soil anywhere it will grow if you water it. You might not get what you expected but you'll get something, With a little fertilizer and care you could grow the chron chron. Hell it's worth a shot. My mother tried one time strait into the soil no ferts no nothing but water and sunlight she grew the absolute god bud but shes been growing plants forever. It isn't hard, With a little bit of knowledge growing any plant is easy as nature. If you can't afford "high tech" methods then you need a method as good as/or almost as nature. What we are trying to do at this forum is teach people how to grow the best bud they possibly can indoor or outdoor which can be a problem for people who don't know anything about basic growing. for the "high tech" info that is hard for beginners to learn but once you do you'll grow awesome pot just like us.
I think some of us get reminded day in and day out the basic nuts and bolts of growing...hehehe especially in the guest lounge.
Hi Yall's- Thanks for the replies...wasnt expecting them so fast. I supposed Im just a wee bit put off by the whole thing. The constraints Im operating under are considerable to say the least. Factor in the fact that my area is facing a rather nasty "drought" if you will...I guess I just wanna make it work as SIMPLE as possible and as FAST as possible...with as little RISK as possible. Forgive my rambling...lol.. Ive only attempted this one other time...in the wonderful state of Alaska..where growing great weed IS easy...though its gotten somewhat harder recently as Ive heard. Too much interference so to speak. So..simply stated my goals are to get half decent pot. I dont have alot to work with..but surely there has to be SOME way to make things turn out. Much of my living and spare time has to do with weather forecasting so Ive learned that Nature is suprisingly flexible at times and if this is true for weather then maybe for growing too? Once again sorry for the length and seeing lack of sanity of my post..I can only hope Ive not wronged anyone here. And perhaps now that I am a member I can find the advice I need to reach my goals Thanx
Hey storm...just wait you start off saying you just want to get some "decent pot" but wait you will be hooked dreaming of th 1000wat hps and the ultimate setup you will see. I say if your going to do and take the risk do it to the best of your ability it does not take much money and learning is easy and fun.
Well if you want it quick then outdoors is out so we have to go indoors. You dont need expensive equipment to grow indoors. You will need: 1# Seeds 2# Pots and soil 3# Lights Floro's work but for that little extra a small HPS 4# A grow space (they dont have to be big ask knives!) 5# water and some ferts minumim cost and risk!
