i was reading the cultivators guide by mel thomas and he made mention of "flash drying" some of the smaller buds to sample your crop...although he never explained what flash drying was...anyone else out there heard of that? if so ....whats the process....peace fellas
Flash drying is as simple as letting your weed sit out on a desk or anywhere in open air to dry with no paperbas or cureing. you can flash dry a small fresh bud overnight.
duffman is right. you could do it to where you wait overnight but flash drying normally is a little faster. there are numerous methods of flash drying. i personally use my ballast and the buds i want to dry in a envelope and sit it on top while the light is on. check on it every once in a while but after about 2 hours or so it should be good to go. remember, taste and everything else typically go to shit. this is normally used to just test the "high" you get from yuor bud whether its a couchlock or heady high. hope this helps...peace
Yep ^^^^ Some who have CRT monitors place it on the heat vents. Others even use low temps in electric ovens. Microwaves have been used. I like let it dry like on a ballast or crt a day at least.

microwave for cutting hash and drying MJ I friggin detest using microwaves with anything to do with solid hash or drying weed,IMO it reduces potency or summit,im sure of it cos its never the same afterwards.Peace
i've used a dryer with a crown royal bag tighted with the stings and a rubberband,and had the dryer on air . Works in pinch. Bud is a little harsh but doesn't semm to affect the high.
flash drying=neccessary evil these days(essential for pre harvest potency test) Actually i like the harshness ya get from the joint/pipe or whatever after flash drying cos if i cant feel harshness on the back of my throat i feel as if i aint getting a decent hit and not getting stoned..... ....oh boy i didnt know what hit me when i went to amsterdam 1st time,its like when you drink coctails ya cant taste the booze and ya dont know your drunk till ya try to leave the bar...thats what my 1st dam trip was like,i thought id sample the MJ food products forgetting actually how much weed they put in some of that food produce then we sat and smoked a strain with no harshness at all to it so i chonged away and when i went to leave i was TRIPPIN OOT MA NUT(really,really unasuredly stoned like never before,scary) Flash drying is essential for a pre-harvest potency test,whatever strenght it seems then your final cure will be twice as potent if harvested and cured to perfection...as i say,lol.Other than that i detest flash drying unless im desperado fopr a smoke.Im of the school of thought that MJ isnt smokeable till its fully dried and cured not to mention the last few weeks of the plants right were done properly(flush-dry-flush-dry-darkness-chop-cure),if the trichs were ready yet and other similar things.But flash drying is a neccessary evil im afraid Peace
