I've been a viewer of the site for a while and figured I'd sign up. I'm a recent college grad (double B.S. in Environmental Science and Ecology with a minor in Biology) and I'm looking to kill time before I figure out where I'm heading in life. I am not much of a smoker, though I enjoy the occasional jeeber sitting next to the lake with a good book, but I've always been interested in Cannabis sativa (ever since my early days as a freshman going for a biotech/botany degree). I hope to grow in the future and breed some enjoyable strains for friends and family. I hope to learn something from the seasoned veterans here (I am a sponge for plant physiology and genetics) and maybe share some of my knowledge.
to GrowKind TheScientist! Please read the FAQ section before posting any grow questions. Some of the members tend to get a bit disgruntled when new members don't apply themselves. Most of what ya need to know is there. The members will be happy to fill in any knowledge gaps ya might have afterwards. Again... to GK!
It's all good. I'm a mod at some other forums so I'm am well versed in the etiquette of being a n00b. I'm here to chill out, share a joke, and discuss daily events. I used to work on my grandfathers vegetable farm as a kid so I have a little bit of a greenthumb.

Wait till you plant the seed... .. I can tell ya that there have been so many great topics and thousands of posts. Well have a look around. You can always kick it in the Smoker Lounge. BTW know much about soil microbes and fungi?
not much about soil microbes (limited knowledge about N-fixers) or fungi. what i know is basic microbiology (cellular biology isn't my thing) and basic mycology. I'm taking a couple courses on plant and fungal physiology in the fall to brush up before i head to grad school next spring.
You are in for a treat Scientist. I've grown many many things in my life, but never something as rewarding as growing MJ. It's just fun.
time to grow ...always lookin' for someone with some smarts...I will keep you bookmark'd for future reeferential purposes... I sense you will find yourself right at home here at GK... DCotleaf:
