Gotta pick one or the other you can't do both. FAQ's will tell you how to do it right. If you want to do it quick just pick a few small buds and let air dry out in the open. Smoke them till your good shit is cured.

I hang mine in a small cabinet with an exhaust fan in one end running and a intake at the other. Takes mine about 5 to 7 days to dry so I can jar them up , depending on the amount of moisture in the bud and humidity and such. Then I dry for at least 1 more week. Remember the buds are curing in what ever type of container you use still have some light moisture in them, meaning the buds should feel like a fresh cigar leaf kind of soft but not crunchy. That's why I uncover the buds once or twice a day and stir the bud gentle and let sit uncovered for about 1/2 an hour than cover and put back in the dark, because the light is bad for the THC. After a week of doing this I start smoking the bud . :punk:

now, there is the best way and then there is the quick way...... :)

just about everyone here has been in your situation. Wanting to harvest early for one reason or another.......If you NEED the bud to smoke because you are out of bud then just lay the bud in a drawer or on a table top. a fan in the room will dry it quicker. you will not get the smoothest smoke this way, but you will get high.

if you wanna do it "right" then you need to dry it as slow as possible without creating mold. i like to put the buds in brown paper bags and put it in a cool room. shaking the bag a cupl times a day to keep the buds from molding from laying on each other. once the buds are ALMOST completely dry they go into the jars. the jars are purged of air a cupl times a day for a cupl weeks. the buds are then left in the jars for a month or so. then you smoke that beautiful shit. :)

if you can stick with this hobby long enough to get consistent harvests and cure pot long enough you will for certain see the difference

    Damn, Dude.

I did that 'twice-a-day-open-close' mason jar thing for close to two months and those buds were sooooooo smooth.

I stored tham in mason jars in plastic bags in the fridge and they were just as good 6 months later

    Hang Em......

Hang Dry em man..... HAng them allon to a bit of string tied up going across something, preferable in a darkish place, as the light CAN , CAN reduce THC count! BVUt hang dry em, then once dry enough, like when the twig's can "Snap", then bung em into a air tight container, and open up for 1 hour every day to ket some air inside to the BUD's and keep repeating this process, as it will give the weed a smoother taste, and an overall better taste in general!

Also, It CAN HELP to increase POTENCY, by doing the CURING method in some JAM-Jars for example!!!

    Peace Out,

This is how i do it and always get a nice smoke too!!!

I agree with Wawona. I tried hang-drying some buds, as well as the paperbag method, and the ones that were hung up dried out way too fast and never tasted great, but the ones dried for a week in a paperbag were perfect, still a bit moist and sticky before putting in mason jars. Even after curing for a month in mason jars, there is still a big difference in the buds I cured by those two methods. I'm gonna stick with paperbag drying.

what if you hung them inside of paper bags? if you put some bars across the bag and then hung the buds on there...would that work?

Well I think it has been covered but I thought to weigh in.

I like to let the fresh cut stay in the grow room for two or three days before I paper bag them.

So I cut and place on a screen for a while then bag and place on the screen.

After I feel they are dry enough for jars they get trimmed and jarred...

I vent those jars for a while then they sit in a little fridge till all gone.
