hey guys i have a few plants outdoors and the buds look good! (its my first grow) i was wondering without usin the magnifying thing what to look for as for when to harvest.. any pics of a plant ready for harvest would be great.. thx in advance f or any feed back.
if you got some big fat buds,take one off,dry it out and then smoke it. if it nice, then its finished

There are several important points to consider when choosing the optimum time to harvest your marijuana crop. There are different factors to consider between indoor and outdoor marijuana plants. the best indication is by looking at the trichomes under magnification. When they are mostly amber/golden color its a good time to harvest. Some people judge maturity by the % of hairs that have turned red. While its ok, its not a very accurate judge of maturity.
could the trics be ready even though the hairs are still white?? they r not as white as they once was in the first weeks of flowering but still white.
ok my friend. if your going by the hairs then when they are about 75 to 80% brown than it should be ready to harvest. if you want to harvest when the bud is the most potent than you can get the loop from radio shack for about 9 dollars. if you want a couch lock high than you harvest when the trich's are amber in color if you want a mild high than you harvest when the trich's go from clear to cloudy. good luck
thx for th input all! guess the only way im gonna be totally sure for harvest is get the loop from radio shack. its my first grow and its outdoors and at my house,, getting worried and wanna be sure of harves and its not lookin like the typicle back yard tree if ya no what i meen./..lol
bought the loupe thing! and my plants were ready!!!!!! oh yea!! had mostly smokey/milky trics with a few amber. did all my trimmin today and have the buds in paper badgs dryin and gonna do the hole curing process, since this is my first ever grow.i want the ma out of it since i put alot of tlc in this girl for the summer. im very happy with what i got off of one plant (was an experiment to decide if i wanted to start growin or not) the buds weghed in at 20oz wet!! so im hopin for atleast half when dryed and cured 10oz would ne sweet for one girl. took some pics of her before i wacked her. MAN that was hard to do. i was so used to comin home from work every day and seein her progress from day to day but will deffinitly be much more happier about it in a few weeks. thx GK for all ur help and the great FAQ section. will put up some pics of the harvest in a day or 2
I good rule of thumb is, whatever your weight is wet take about 25% of it and that's what you'll end up with. So you'll end up with around 5 dry oz. That's really good man... Keep on trucking....Fu@#*^@..... and growing weed

MX Mave We used to have radio shack over here if you can remember..it was called Tandy.Dont know what happened to em.
I seem to remember a radio shack in England, was a long time ago tho..... i think they closed em down tho.
