Wow...this line of thinking

I didn't post this on our Social media, even though I try to be fair about the articles and op/eds I find, but DAMN. This article says we should worry MORE about marijuana smoke than COAL burning....wow...Again, this is an opinion piece, not a factual article....but still...people think like this....

Blue Skies Campaign should focus clean air efforts on marijuana, not coal shipments
The impassioned plea written in (the May 28) Missoulian was quite interesting. The group calling themselves the Blue Skies Campaign talks of the horrible contamination by the coal trains passing through Missoula, so I had to see for myself.

When I arrived at the Missoula exits from eastbound Interstate 90, I got off at the East Missoula exit so that I might observe the coal dust coating on the rail bed, road and trees. I cannot begin to tell you how surprised I was at what I saw. I feel we as a community owe a huge debt of gratitude to Montana Rail Link for the cleanup job they must have done in that area. I could find no coal dust blanketing anything in the area, including the area directly adjacent to the tracks. I wonder when that cleanup took place, as I am sure that thousands of coal cars have passed through that corridor.

If the Blue Skies Campaign is so concerned with the clean air that the people of Missoula breathe, they might consider fighting against the legalization of marijuana. The concentration of pollutants and toxins inhaled while smoking that substance affects the smoker, all around them and anyone unfortunate enough to encounter them on the road. The claim to fame of smoking pot is that it is no worse than drinking alcohol, which kills some 30,000 people a year; perhaps a better set of priorities might help more people in a more immediate timeframe than a layer of coal dust that is found with a white glove test.

If they are really worried about the emissions from burning the coal in an unregulated China, then encourage that the coal be used in the good old U.S.A. where power plants have very strict regulations administered by the infamous Environmental Protection Agency.

I don't think I'd go as far as to say that pot smoke is as bad as coal smoke, but I believe that any smoke can't really be that good for your lungs, I think that is the main claim to fame of vaporizers.
