I overheard a guy in a dispensary this weekend talking about adding bat guano to his nutrients. I should have just asked him about it at the time but it seemed a bit weird to just butt into a stranger's conversation like that. My question is: how does bat guano help nutrients? Are there other uses for bat guano in growing?

Big time N and P. It can be really hot depending on species of bat and area of collection. Bat poop can act as a fungicide so I don't use it in conjunction with mychorrizae or in living soil applications where fungal activity is desired. Meaning...I don't use it. Lots of folks use it though and have great success.

Ah, yeah, if it's a fungicide then it probably won't work that well for me either. Thanks for clarifying that!

  4. Looks like you guys just resolve one of my queries. Well, what about chicken manure?

Chicken manure is something I add to my compost, but it NEEDS to be composted first as chicken poop is very 'hot'.
