BHO from Pure Power Plant

Guess I won't try that then. Guess I'll just make it for personal and give the hash to patients. But man that HBO is some good stuff. A friend tried it and took one hit, later he called me to say how good it was because he left here to go get his pizza and paid for it and left it on the counter and didn't realize it until he was half way home.

On another note... Seeing I've been researching BHO I seem to have read runny BHO still needs a bit of purging. Seems a process called "winterization" helps make a cleaner oil. You dissolve the BHO into Everclear or some type of 190 proof ethanol alcohol. Then store in freezer for 24-48 hrs. Thus removes the lipids and plant matter. You pour the alcohol mixture through coffee filter then purge the alcohol off. That's how I'm planning to do it when I have material. Also might buy a small vacuum kit to go that extra mile...

mine is always real tacky, I had one batch that was "shatter". I like bho better than the quiso because its quicker and the high that you get from the bho:redbong:...wooo:flipando:. hey any pointers on the PPP? im about to sprout some in a month or so

PPP was hungry for me, went 9 weeks plus to get all milky trichomes. I had a few nanners here and there due to stressful environment, but otherwise I recall it being a fairly frosty bud though a PITA to trim. Lots of small to medium sized nuggets, pretty hard dense and heavy but overall I don't recall PPP being a great producer compared to Bubblicious, White Rhino, or Great White Shark. I think the phenos were all similar so Nirvana's genetics seem pretty stable in that instance. I did a thread but I'm too lazy to find it ATM. Search threads I've started and you'll find it. I think it was a tall plant too, but again my climate was wonky so YMMV.


BHO can take a variety of forms and consistencies, and a few of it's street names are an amazing example of modern onamonapia. Amber, Shatter, Crackle, Oil, Wax, Budder, etc. are all the same thing - butane (or some other solvent) honey oil. The ending consistency - and therefore whether you get wax, oil or shatter - depends on the type of trichomes going in, the solvents and tools used, and the process after it's extracted. The weight of the chunk of gold you get at the end also varies widely depending on the above factors, but in general a 10% return is considered average.


I did two runs in this thread - the first was runny and gooey. The second run was just like candle wax. The difference was in what I did with it right after the butane boiled off. In the first case, I never added any more heat besides the warm water pan. I just scraped the oil into a pile and smeared in on weed and smoked it. For the second run, I took the pan out of the water after the butane boiled off, and put in on a heating pad and then took a bent paperclip and spent 15 minutes stirring the oil around in the pyrex dish and whipping it up like warm caramel. Then it turned waxy after sitting in the freezer for a day.


I'm now running a T-6 style SS tube about 3ft long, buying tane by the case :5eek:
