I'll pile on with a "third".

Chaz wait for your fathers electrician buddy to swing by & check your shit out.

As a side note: your ventilation plan isn't going to work. IMHO your adding way too much restriction necking down to 4" & back up to 6" back to 4" or whatever your plan is. No way your going to keep 1400 watts cool like that. You'll never see anything close to the 700cfm or whatever your fans are rated at. Unless I heard wrong ( from your update vid) the scrubber is too small as well unless your not pulling as much air as I thought. Either way me thinks things are going to cook in there with that much fire power.

    Cheers

Yeah, that dude has put some of us with HID to shame with only his CFL's. I gotta say, it's embarrassing what patience and determination can do compared to being hasty and greedy.

Cool Man! Thanks for explaining that. :jj: I'll take a pic of the box and the line if I am able. I live in a condo, not a house. I'm gonna do the breaker test to find too, to find out which plugs are on which breakers, and I'll just plug the 1K into that breaker. Water pumps, air pumps, and fans use barley any electric correct? I do run a nice air pump, Hydrofarm AAPA45L 20-Watt 45-LPM Active Aqua Commercial Air Pump (max amperage 0.17). It keeps 5 buckets bubbling pretty nicely. I have added a few extra 25-35 gallon pumps around for extra aeration.

Ya I'm not getting into the electrical trade. I'm waiting for my dad's buddy to come over, and in the meantime do what Nippie said and just run the 1K off 1 breaker. I'll know if it's to much if I actually do pop a breaker. I used to hang out at a buddies house and they would blow breakers at least 5-6 times a day and just flip them back on. It was nuts.

First what does IMHO mean? So should I run both tents separately out of the top of the tents to the false window with individual carbon filters? I am getting a refunded 6x24 inch filter I bought a while ago that failed on me a month or so ago. So I'll have that, it's rate to 500+, not exactly sure. The first one sucked for sure. I could feel no air being pulled in when I place my hand on the filter. If I hook the 4" one up I feel so much air flow. I could have 2 x 6" filters in each tent, just one would only run through at 200 cfm. Is that enough for an air-cooled 3x3 tent to a 6" filter? Filters have minimum CFM's as well correct? I'll have to check the specs on the filters.

    Cool pic! :coool:

Ed Bro, that was like a week ago now. Everything is back under water and has been. I let the two go with no water for 12 hours while I had to fix the buckets. Thanks for you concern! :goodjob:

Chaz, are you still planning to run the 550 cfm (or whatever) behind a 700 cfm fan?? You know that you'll most likely be pulling air through the scrubber too quickly for it to do it's job. It won't be able to "scrub" the stink off the air.... On the other hand if you're still using 6" to 4" reducers like you showed in your latest video, you'll not be flowing anywhere near 700 cfm.

Either way I'd suggest you let the tent run for a day or so to make sure you're going to end up with an easy-bake tent. Me thinks your shit is going to get mighty hot.... I'd also imaging that by adding more wattage to the tent that your ressy temps will be on the rise as well.

Great.... I just tried to hook up the 1K, on its own 120, the ballast comes on, fan spins, but no light. Where the cord connects to the mougle, it is very loose, I am able to spin everything. I got a video uploading now. Their packaging was incredible, and the 1K bulb itself was in 100% great condition. I'll edit here in a lil when the video uploads.

Chaz look at your thread in the beginner lounge "going without water " that's what thread I posted in talking about your tents hope that helps

Duc: I THINK when he says 700cfm he means his 440 6" and his 4" (whatever cfm that is)

Chaz does your ballast have a 240/120 switch ? I know when I first got my magnetic ballast it was on 240 from the factory

It's a digital ballast. It supposedly knows what sockets its plugged into and it adjusts itself.

    Here is the video:

Just because the fan is moving doesn't mean the ballast works though. Does

It have like a red/green light to tell you if it's functioning properly? Also it looks like its a dimmable ballast? Why don't u take your 400w and put it in there see if it strikes that. Is the bulb a digital friendly bulb? I also heard that even if the bulb is a digital friendly bulb that sometimes they don't like to be struck with a digital ballast and guys will run them with a magnetic ballast first to "break em in"

Nice jammies. Tighten the jam nut on the cord where it enters the cool tube. Won't help the light work but should be tight. Look for a breaker switch on the ballast itself then check the bulb. They can look good but vibration in shipping can damage the electrode.

SpEd- Breaking in a bulb with a mag ballast because digital won't initially fire? Never heard of such a thing.

prob not a loose wire, I'd check the reset on your ballast if i were you. also stick with name brand bulbs, cheap bulbs are exactly that cheap, lumatek and eye hortilux both come with a year warranty

BTW, damn let the haters hate on your jammies I rock em sometimes too

I've watched the video three times and it looks to me like the bulb has a black spot on it where it screws into the hood.
