So! What of it. And it's the Beaver County, get it straight. I heard bout them alleghany county dudes. O_O
Alright I got everything into the party cups this morning, and just extra rinsed with a gallon of RO water. I filled the cups up until water was draining out of the hole I made. I think I may have made the outbound holes to small. Let me know. There is one runt, that I'm bout to toss out. That is the one I broke it's tap root before it even got the seed off its head. I planted it directly into the perlite and kept in real low, only filled half the cup. I prob just gonna germ one more exodus cheese. I don't have room or time for runts. Group Shot: Runt in perlite: Runts roots: This is what all the other plants looked like:
Chaz when you transplant I like to bury the stalks til just the leaves are above ground. all that stretched area would convert to roots once burried
If I got any deaper I will have the rapid rooter in the res. What should I do? Can't I just pill the perlite up higher around the stalk? And no worries, on the stretching, they will be trained! xD Edit: If I put my light any closer it gets to hott. I need to free up my 3x3 cab. There is no airflow in the 2x2 homemade cab. I'ma try to squeeze my cheese in the 4x4 for it's last week or two of flush and get those seedlings in the 3x3 under the 400W MH.
Did you notice my black buckets? There the one gallon plastic containers found at any deli/bakery. Find a few and paint them black so you can bury deeper if need be. All you have to do is ask and I'm sure they will give you tons of them.
Cool. Thanks for the tip. Might end up doing that. The plants are a bit droopy since the transplant. Can I drown them with to much water just holding in the perlite? They were nice and perky, and now have slouched a bit, maybe some shock? You think I should even keep that middle one or just toss it now and start another 1? No time or space for runts. Is it possible for that to turn around and grow like the others? I got 1 Exodus Cheese bean left.
MAKE SURE YOU WATER!!!!!!! Perlite tends to dry up if you transplanted and didn't water, your plants will die within a day or two that small. GO WATER!!!!! If you did not already Fill the ressy and they should be good for a few days but always water after you transplant with hempy spec seedlings BTW, I had a bucket issue a long time ago and that's what MrA suggested and the deli/bakery was more than helpful. If asked or they look at you strange, it's for you nuts and bolts to clean up garage.
The perlite was still wet from rinsing, then when I put the plants in the cups I poured ph'd R.O. water until the water came out of the drain hole. Is that good enough?
I'm of the opinion that keeping an eye on the bucket's weight would be the best way to know if it needs watering. Get a feel for what the bucket weighs and when it starts to feel light, give it food and drink. One thing that I intended to do (but haven't), is to initially measure just how much water it takes to make a hempy bucket start to drain. There is some water in the perlite, but the bulk of it is in the bottom. If you find that when it's watering time, you're putting that much water in, you're cutting it real close. I ran three plants outside in hempy this summer, and used 1/2 gallon milk and OJ bottles to hold the mixed nutes for watering, just because they were easy to get. It was very helpful to know exactly how much "fuel" each plant was gettting, and easy since the mixed nutes were in containers of a known size. Outside, the plants needed water twice a day to begin with, and near the end, three times a day. I'd assume indoors they'd need less attention. Good luck, OS
They could also be "drooping" because they are too lanky. They are WAY stretched. Either build up your perlite or get something, a twig or a long piece of plastic or something, and hold them up with tieing them to it. And yes, keep the runt going. You might be surprised. It looks healthy.
Cool. Thanks a ton bud! Cool man. Thanks for the advice, I've actually been doing what you suggested about the weight of the cups. Alrighty, sounds good. I build the perlite up a bit or just go get some diff small pots like nippie suggested. I can't lower the light anymore because it will get to hott.
This^^^^^^ Last round I came real close to tossing out what I thought was a runt. Thankfully FF suggested I keep it around & sure enough she came through in the end & netted me 1.8 zips in the jar of Jackberry x KO kush goodness. Now I have a good clone and didn't waste the last 3 JBxKO beans unnecesarily. Looking good too Chazasssit:
Cool I'll keep her going then. I think she has made more progress since the switch over to the hempy cup. She was the only one that made a direct transplant into the perlite, the others were burried with the rapid rooter attached. I pilled up the perlitte for now until I can find some better containers to hempy in. How long do they stay in these party cups? I can bet those roots will be in the res within the next week or so.
Question: Why are the tops of my shoots not as dark as green as the rest of the plant? Doesn't that mean they would like more food? I'm keeping steady at around 1,100 PPM and a PH of 5.8. I could prob push that PPM up to say 1400-1450? Will that make everything all dark green again? I'll try to take some pics to better explain.
