If you're at/past week 4 of flower and they (small shoots) haven't found a home in the light they're useless. It's kind of a wash on plant recovery versus better use of plant energy. IMHO, better they go now rather than be a pain in the ass come trim time and in my garden it seems to help my overall harvest.
Ofo, did you have trouble with this in hempys? I've seen it only in solo's and a little here and there during flower. Usually the plant blocks all the light out to the perlite thus stopping it from happening.

Okay, I want to veg until 26", so I'll place the trellis at 26" now. Yes, especially with the chicken wire your using. Getting the branches out of that is going to suck come harvest time. I'm just cutting all the wire out when I'm done and saving the frame. It doesn't look like it would be to hard. Guess I have done it thought yet. lol. K. Thx.
What's with the magic height number? If you are using the green screens, push them all the way down to they hit, let the plant do it's thing and you'll get between 3-5oz per plant at 12-16". So if you are using a 4*4 tent, means easily 9 plants (you want room to work)..so 27-45oz with good lighting You don't want tall plants, they are a bitch to move, they fall, branches break just a total pain in the ass. And you don't yield more either, you get a couple donkey dick buds and the rest is fluff, and once you get mold, you'll learn that a bunch of nice little nugs is a shitload better than one big nug with mold
Holy shit...500 posts! Chaz, don't have time to catch up on the whole thread, but looks like you got things basically under control. If you're vegging to 26'' I hope you have some serious lighting for flowering, otherwise you're gonna end up with 6' fluffy monsters. Good luck with the grow man. -tC

Auto Cheese Harvest Day! Harvest day for the Cheese. She finished out at 86 days from seed. Should have been shorter but had a root rot issue at the begining. I actually think I may have hit my goal of 1 1/2 oz. Maybe.. She turned out with a beautiful purple tint to a light lime green bud.
Chaz, a 5 gallon should take up about 1 sq ft. Leaving room for you ring, not sure if you have 12" or the 14" but still it gives you plenty of room for 3 plants both ways thus the 9 plants

I don't know if you hang them up like your pic but you really don't want the buds touching each other like that. It promotes mold, or so I'm told . Lately I've been making my drying racks using stalks of bamboo & milk crates. You'll be a newb until your not :thumbs-up: I've been here for a little more than a year, gowing some decent plants now & I still call myself a newb. good estimate and it's not exact by any means at all is.... dry weight will be approx 20% of wet weight BTW, congrats on the harvest...think you may be a little optimistic, but you grew it, now smoke it:good job:
