I just don't understand why people have to give advice in a dickish way, you guys know I'm a newb at growing, so why not try to show some understanding. You were all new at one point. Getting reactions like I get from others is why I was going to leave in the past. I recommended a member, and of course a few members had to be dicks so he left. I see this re-occuring. Dick members scare away new members.

GK be more a home town pool hall give and take with golden nuggets of wisdom experience than a feel good tutoring session. Works for some and not for others. Just like gardens and plants. Your hopes are understandable but reality will win out. The garden problems are not imaginary and excess costs have been caused because you bit off far too much far too fast. We've seen foxtailing of all sorts and KNOW the differences when we see them. Yours is NOT healthy. Solid market worthy nuggs require solid market worthy gardening. Plain and simple. If you want to learn how to do something right who do you go to? The helpful guy that sells the gear to do it? The really nice guy who tried it once or twice and read a Cervantes book so trolls the net? its worth a lot, these words of wisdom hit the nail right on the head. What probably gets people annoyed is this: Most of us (including myself) do years of research and upgrade the equipment as we go, you did exact opposite. But its too late to turn back now, just keep listening to these guys, I guarantee you that it will be worth it in the long run. Don't look at what I just said as an insult or critique, its just my observation. So all that being said, I have no doubts that you will be a good grower, the passion is there, that is the most important thing.
Heat distribution isnt equal throughout your grow. Plus, different plants tolerate different amounts of heat. Foxtailing is caused by damage or heat. If you cant see damage its heat. Id fix it, as foxtailed bud is fluffy and contains a lot less resin.
Sometimes the foxtailing is in the genetics. Casey Jones is a good example. But if it is not a strain that normaly does it, then it is probably caused by too much heat or if you let it flower too long.
Are you exhausting into another room? If you recycle the air in the same room it doesnt matter how big your fan is.
No, I exhaust outside. - So should I just turn the 1K down to 75% to get the temps under 80 until my new fan/filter arrive? Or is it to late? Once they start to foxtail, will lowering the temps make them just fill in? They have a really long flower period and are only just starting week 5.
I'll say this, that's uncalled for here. You may see us bust each other's balls, and in some cases outright not like each other, but rarely does it get to this point. Have you noticed his "rep"...that doesn't come easily once you get past the initial 20 or so, takes a long time for 'some old stuck up piece of shit' to build a rep like that. It takes someone helping many people out along the way. If you look back at your own thread, numerous times he helped you as he was busting your balls, numerous times you thanked him. While he might not be the best person from which you to learn from, he still a damn good grower running systems that you are running offering you free advice....and he's not even trying to sell you something like the guys at hydro store would be doing. While I am not that much older than you, I think you have a long road to travel before you can make judgement or statements like that. A word of advice, if someone is being a dick say so, if it continues take it up with PMs, but quite frankly I don't even think he was being that big of a dick, rude yes, but like I said before, he offered you advice many times, many times you took the advice he was offering. And then you not only 'blocked' him which should be only used as a last resort, but then you edited a post to say that. While we all have bad days, or times we take something out on others to which they are not a party, most of us man up, admit mistakes were made and move one...not resort to that. Arrogant and ignorant is a terrible combination in life, you should never let others have the ability to form this opinion of you. But to answer the question of 1 in 4....if they didn't come from the same mom, how would you ever know what their traits are? You know generally from the breed standard, but most breed have many many phenos, even two plants from the same pheno could react differently in the same situation. One could have a better tolerance to stress...point is you don't know until you grow the strain many times except you can make educated guesses from experience and experience only, to take what you read on a thread 5 years ago makes you no more educated than someone using miracle grow and hoping for the best.
Temps first. Fire power second. Here's a solid nugg cross section. No heat induced foxtail is going to give you this.

I don't know what to say Nippie. That dude just rubs me the wrong way constantly, it get's real old after a while. Although he has given me good advice at times, alot has to do with the manner at which the advice was given. Thought we we're all laid back stonners? Why ever be rude or a dick to someone? Especially if they are in need of help. I guess just all people dont' think the same...
