Thanks bud, but the silicone I have (GE Premium Waterproof silicone) says nothing on the tube about whether or not its aquarium safe or anything like that. So? And that's cool that the system will still re-circulate having individual return lines.

If it's aquarium safe, it will say it's aquarium safe. If it doesn't, it probably isn't.


When people go out and look for the stuff they are going to need, especialy for anything to do with water, shouldn't they look for the right stuff to begin with? Why grab the first thing on the shelf? Go buy stuff with a plan in mind or written down. Be smart about your purchases. People go out of their way to help people only to have to help with the same problems because people go off too quick thinking they know better, then it's, well I thought it would be better. People have tried all the ways. The simple ways that people on GrowKind show and tell people, that by the way, ask for help, has been proven to work and is pretty inexpensive. Especialy when you don't have to keep taking stuff apart and buying the correct stuff the second or third time.

Yeah make sure you have the right tools the first time. I accidentally paid 80$ for the wrong light bulb for my ballast once. It lasted about 4 days before it burnt the glass and cracked.

 

Lol, 2nd full grow, 1st grow straight DWC, second grow RDWC, the proplem wasn't buying the wrong parts, it was not understanding the conecept before trying to build it. I got it down now and every is good. I only used the silicone on the outside of valves to seal shit and inside on airlines, which never come into contact with the feeding/return or any water matter of fact (Cause it's only 3/4" from the top of the bucket. I let my water level get to like 2" - 2 1/2" above the hydroton (10" net pots.. Anyway, I got my setup like 98% done. Naturally toping off, float valve controlled, individual return lines (stoppers on each bucket incase something would go wrong with one of the.


I made a new movie on my new phone Samsung Galaxy 3gS or some shit like that, newest verzion phone, and the camera and video recorder are great! Def, would recomend if anyone was in the market.

Also: Big question, does anyone use any different kind of line to connect from the control to the res?, other than the auto-top to the control? Does water ever go back to the res from the control bucket? I only have 1 connection from the res to the control, which is a downward angled auto-top. Am I missing something still?

 

Plants were taken care of roughly the first week and a half, cause I didn't have my system setup entirely, they were just sitting in hydroton and I was spraying them a bunch to keep it wet, non-ph water =/ F'ed them up a bit, but since I get the system running and PH all straight at 5.7 I'm getting all sorts of new growth from them. My last batch of Rhino looked way worse than these at this ago.


My cat bit the leaf off the auto =/ or it would have looked perfect. My new Samsung Galaxy takes some sick pics. I might actually be able to post some trich pics like most of you guys once we hit flower.

 

My Nebula ending up dying. =/ I was so excited about that plant, and only had 1 seed of it. I replaced it with an Afghan Kush x Skunk, that has alreayd popped and is in the tent. Everything else is looking very good, except my PPM issue. 850PPM with 3/4 strength on the nutes. (UseLess formula)

There were no nutes at the time or it was temporary, I never leave light hitting nute filled water.

I don't know? Thought I'd mix it up. Does it matter? I'm growing the Auto in its' own system. I figured if any needed special attention I can handle it by isolating the bucket in question.

RDWC Week 2 update


There are now 4 photo's and 1 Auto. So three plants are getting fed at week 2 as of 2 hours ago. So much work getting this shit set up! It's now 5:07 a.m. Tons of learning experiences though. I know now why the plants weren't doing well at first it was because I was using week 1 of flower nutes on the plants instead of week 1 of veg! :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: (I know, idiot move). This feed was actually week 2 of veg :roffl:I got two new sprouts that just came out their little germ tent today. I just planted directly in the hydroton. I clean the shit out of the hydroton and clean it with H202, then placed the entire bark cube thing down a bit in the hydroton.


Auto Cheese:


- 2 Gallons of distilled water


- Fed 20-10-6 (G-M-B) (GH 3 part)


- 1/2 tsp Dutch Master Gold Range Zone (Root stimulator, better uptake)


- 1 Tbsb of a freebie the hydro shop gave me, said it was a live orgainism and would attach to my roots and make the plants uptake as much nutrients as they possibly can. He said it doesn't raise PH or PPM at all. He gave me a 1/2 gallon and said use it before 48 hours or it will died. What was weird was he said I could put as much in as I wanted and it wouldn't affect anything. I was like WTF? Could that be true?)


- 1.5 tsp of H202


- PH = 5.6 / PPM = 766


Critical Jack and Blue Dream:


- Fed 95 - 47.5 - 22.5 (Working with 15 gallons, since 1 bucket is down)


- 3 tsp of Dutch Master Zone


- 3 Tbsb of H202


- 20-30ml of the freebie hydro shop stuff.


Pineapple Express and Purple Wreck:


- Freshly placed in soaked hydroton with about 3 tsp of H202. Not submerged in fresh water yet.


- Squirt bottle with distilled water a sprayed 5-6 times so far.

Well. If anyone cares... This is what I did today. I put a good 5 hours of work into sterilizing, clean everything up (tools, shit all over the place), and setting up the two new buckets with perfect water that are both running solo =/ (DWC). Also, having new problems, I'll explain later. Fuck I feel like a fucking retard with all this shit. Probably should have had at least some basic pumbing knowledge. :BangHead:. Atleast all the shit I bought I can use for something, not a total loss, and a good learning experience. I think they will still all come out good! :qright4:


9/13/12 3:36 A.M. Just took four bong hits of some white rhino mixed with some gold hash! Those hash bags worked great, I couldn't be happier. I'm Nice and fired up :bong-2:

-Initial check of PH since last night. PH @ 6.3 and PPM @ 758. (I checked each bucket that have their feed/drain lines open (2), and they all have the exact same readings as the control bucket.. And those two plants are both heavy sativa dominant and are the exact same age, so flushing/feeding should be easy, they should end flowering very closely in time, and their the buckets in the back of the tent (hard to reach) 2 bucket RDWC system.


-Added a few drops of PH down. Went down to low, added a bit of PH up. Ending up being: PH @ 5.8 and PPM @ 810 (I started using Advanced nutrients PH up, shit is sooo concentrated. A few drops of it will raise the water a full point of PH. Also started using GH PH Downed in a powder form. It disolves quick and works well. I use a 1/4 tsp at a time.)

- Solo DWC bucket, all valves off just a air line bubbling. (Using mostly distilled water with about 3/4 of a gallon on tap water).


- Initial check of PH and PPM. PH was 8.1 and PPM 207


- Added 7ml of PH down (Brought me to PH 5.0 and ppm 229)


- Added 2.5 drops of AN PH up.


- Added 3 Tbls of H202


- Final PH @ 5.7 and PPM @ 220


Pineapple Express: (day 1)





- Solo Bucket just like the Purple Wreck, both drain/feed lines shut off, and a big air stone.


- Mix of distilled and tap water


- Initial PH and PPM - PH 7.8 / PPM 141


- 3 Tbls of H202


- 1/2 tsp of power GH PH down. Went to PH 6.3, added 1/4 tsp of powdered PH down. After everything settled and hour later I ended up with a final of PH @ 5.7 and a PPM of 192.


Auto Cheese: (Day 28)








- Don't remember the PPM and PH values, did them last night and didn't write them down, well the PH went up a bit, I know that. I adjusted the PH and final levels are PH @ 5.6 and PPM @ 962
