You got way to much time on yer hands man, chill the hell out and leave them alone, its not a switch...you just cant change it and see it in 2seconds, RELAX
I got ya bro thanks, I've been checking the ppm and Ph everyday and I'm getting alot of fluctuations in PH, it's always going up. I'll set it at like 5:00 PM and by when I wake up at 11:00 AM the next day it goes from like 5.6 to 6.3 and shit. Then adding that cheap powder PH down increases the PPM. Err. This shit is difficult. Finally have time to hook my RO system up tomorrow. Hopefully with RO water the water PH won't fluctuate to much? I already ordered Advanced Nutrients PH down. It's pure concentrate, drops the PPM as well. I have AN PH Up now and it works great with drops instead of 30-40ml of GH down and raising my PPM 225. =/ O well. I'm calming down and letting everything chill out for a change. Thanks for your help CC and everyone else.
Coming along nicely Chaz. opcorn-2: Good restart buddy. Nce strains. Jack and Purple, gotta see this outcome.
Thank you sir. asssit: Ya. I'm now using Advanced Nutrients PH UP and Down. They work way better. Few drops is like insane. Those bottles should last over a year or more. It's pure concentrate, it actually gave me a chemical burn on a cut I already had on my hand.
Week #3 Update I'm a few days late on the post. I fed on 9/18. Critical Jack & Blue Dream (Day 40 now for these two) - Since I just did a total flush the day before and gave them a week #2 Nutrient solution, I didn't think a water change was necessary. I fed the control bucket 3x gallons of week #3 Nutrients (12-6-3 800/1000) (Was flushing them a bit, cause of burn). Now I think I actually have the Ph and PPM stable, running on the lower end on the Sativas and a little harder on my Cheese xD - PH - 5.9 PPM - 950 Purple Wreck & Pineapple Express. (Separate DWC systems, 5 gallon buckets) (Day 7) - I'm getting a lot of fluctuations in PH without nutrients, didn't realize it was so much easier with Nutrients to balance PH. - Fed both plants on week #1 of Useless formula. Current readings: PH: 5.6 / PPM: 400 for P.E. and PH: 5.6 / PPM: 395-400 for P.W (2 Gallon bucket) Auto Cheese: (Reading before water change) (Day 37): PH: 5.7 / PPM 1,100 - Removed 3 cups of water from it's reservoir and added 2 back of distilled and a few tsp's of H202. Didn't measure it out yet. Video Update:
If heat isn't an issue, you could lower the lights a lot more. I've got a 125 w CFL sitting 2 inches away from the canopy. How high are both of your lights? I know LEDs are also considered powerful, but the Wattage amount is still about the same no matter what. A 330w LED can outshine a 400 mH or 600w HPS. That light is about $1500, unless you build and wire the reflector yourself. Since you're interested in LEDs, you should check this site out: http://www.ledgrow.eu/ I think the results may be a little iffy, but he shows how to wire and build your own LED set-ups. This isnt my site, but it inspired me... I'm going to be making a 500w LED setup for someone elses Garden using similar methods. This won't be the same type of garden I'm into, though. This lady wants year round spices, veggies, herbs, etc. Should be pretty sweet for what she wants.
On the new stuff about 275-300$. Nothing will get wasted and in the end be used for something else. I make good money so a few hundred ain't shit. I like all the fuck ups because I learn from them and gain more experience. You seem very negative. I listen to most advice from you though. My lights are around 18 inches above the plants. The led is at like 30 inches. Thanks for the link and your remarks. When I get on my desktop I will be adding a + rep for you! Thanks, Chaz
Im negative cuz i asked how much cash youve spent on your growing and supplies? alrighty then...:jj: Im just trying to gauge your skills VS. knowledge VS. intelligence VS. balls VS. long term interest........its nothing personel at all man, but theres been a TON of great advice given to you, not just from me either and you still seem to go your own route, its just frustrating thats all but you start 50 threads on "wondering?" how to fix what you did and the answer is your went off the advice given......Im a jaggoff but ill give you the shirt offf my back, dont tke any jabs to heart yungbuck, go eat a sammich wrapped in a gumband bud Id take advice from about 60% of the members here and DO on a monthly basis, they just dont know it
I dont even wanna tell you what i have spent... but its a hobby to me thats it. I spent way more money on cars/trucks . So it doesn't bother me at all
Thanks yall. :bong-2: Got everything straightened up. Running on the lowest end off the Useless ppm scale. Luckily the two in the back that are part of the RDWC have roughly the same flowering times. The Blue Dream is very sensitive to high PPM levels. The Critical Jack seems to want more. The Auto Cheese is doing fantastic, we got signs of a baby girl! xD I'll post some pics tomorrow. The Blue Dream was yellow two days ago and now is back to being green again and showing new growth (820 PPM). I followed they few that said to lower the nutes, and it worked. Thank you very much. :bravo: :not-worthy: Damn 10k is nuts, cops would pound my door down if I had an electric bill like that. I don't understand how personal people without a business can just have a $5k power bill and not get questioned. If your legal I can get it, but some grow like that in non-legal states and don't seem to get fucked with. My power bill is like $350 a month and I run my lights 20/4, run my monster PC, keep my AC on 71F, live in a 2 story condo, and my house has no gas, all electric. asssit:
Some pics from the week 3 update, taken a day later. We have a baby girl! Auto Cheese #1: (Day 36) Blue Dream Haze: (Day 39) (Was solid yellow 2 days ago, huge progress. Critical Jack: (Day 39) Pineapple Express: (Day 8) Purple Wreck (Day 8)
You could definitely stand to lower both of those then. A friend told me 18 inches was the max distance you could have a CFL from the plants for ultimate light penetration. You should definitely go closer on both of the lights, though. It's better to have to raise the lights, than have too much stretch... There could also be stunted growth when the lights aren't close enough, either. It may grow big, but half as fast! I'll post pics of my Blueberry x TW on Mon to show you what I mean. I doubled the amount of light it received for a while, and the plant has really responded quite well! Just make sure not to have too much heat...
Cool! Thanks for the info. :coool: :good job: I want to replace the bulb on my 400W hps system. I want to get a bulb with a bit of blue spectrum because I heard the plants like that alot. I was eyeing up this bulb: http://www.amazon.com/Lumatek-400-HPS-High-Bulb/dp/B003ETUZG8/ref=sr_1_38?ie=UTF8&qid=1348287912&sr=8-38&keywords=400w+HPS+bulbs Says it pushes close to 60K lumens. What happens if I just run all my lights? LEDS, CFLS, and HID, all at the same time when I flip over to flower? Could that decrease yeild? My 240W LED has a ton of red spectrum so I don't think the plants would be confused.
