I don't know. I love doing DWC and my results are equal to and most times better than when I did soil. Of course I held CC's hand all the way through till I was comfortable doing it alone. I think all you really need is to check in on them to see that nothing is happening that you don't want to happen.
Thx for the advice CC. I was going do what you said earlier and wrap the entire bucket with Mylar, or something similar.

Mylar is complete JUNK.......get black n white panda film, its way stronger and you can reuse it sometimes, mylar is a complete waste of money, ask anyone who has used it In my personel experience, id ditch the ENTIRE RDWC system and run all DWC buckets and then change things up for the next round.....the single buckets are way easir to run and deal with Get yourself a few 5gal buckets from lowes (silver thick ones) (home depot ones suckass) and use them to pick your plant up and set it in when you are changing your bucket solution Another issues your guna have ALWAYS is HEAT if you are growing in an upstairs bedroom.......too much hot air from beneath and above............if at all possible try and run in a basement, especially in the winter things get strong n healthy with the added cold, the concrete floor helps beyond explanation
Warning - Thread Jack Chaz, keep it simple man. The picture below is dwc and hempy. They are the same age as your 47 day plants (these are 47 days from seed). These were fed the useless formula, the only other thing they got was koolbloom in week 5 flower (edit: the dwc ko got some epsom salts). Your plants should be a lot bigger imo. Thread Jack Over.
Well. First I killed 2 of the 5 i initially germinated, then my plants almost died from being fed to much nutrients, so I can see why mine are a bit behind. I'm still on the Useless formula of week # 3 veg. One more week and I'll flip em. Think i'ma buy another tent and just run all auto's in it.
running autos inside? you can take any non auto strain and run it 12/12 from the beginning and you'll achieve the same effect as running autos. Why do you wanna do all autos?
The more I'm growing, I'm just preferring auto's. With my experience, they seem very forgiving and easy to grow. More like beginner strains. Plus I've had very good results from autos! xD
So me and my girl talked last night and we decided to add another tent into the mix. Keep it very simple, standard DWC, nothing fancy. I know I'm going to have to buy some new stuff, but with all the shit I got from last round I'm already $3K up. So working with profit here. My last grow I know I should have went with 2 x 400W HPS's or 1 x 1000W HPS. So now I have 1 x 90W LED UFO, 1 x 250W CFL (6500K), 1 x 400W HPS, and 1 x 240LED Blackstar. So more light equal more bud so that's what I'm going for. I will take all advice on this since I am starting fresh and see what you guys can do. So I need another tent, more lights, and I plan to use my 200CFM Carbon filter/fan for the second tent. My main tent is 4x4, I want this new tent to be 3x3. So how should I handle my lights? What else do I need to buy? I'm thinking of getting a 1000W/600W HPS system with an air cooled hood this time! Fml =/. and then putting my 400W HPS I have in the other tent with all the other lights I have? I don't know why people even bother with autos or fems, but that's just me, whatever floats your boat. I don't fim, I don't lst, I don't use a boat load of additives. Just kiss man, that formula works every time. I have to say though, regarding plucking fan leaves, I am closely watching MR G's thread. If it works for him then I would try it, but only because I know that he knows his stuff. And when you get your new tent, I'd try hempy. You're going to hate raising buckets all the time, especially once they get big. Hempy is real easy! In case you didn't get that the first time, HEMPY IS EASY!!!
just run 2 600w's and fuck everything else. cfl's, led's all that . id forget about it, run 2 tents 1 600 in each or a 1k in the 4x4 and a 600 in the 3x3.
Cool. I'll do some research on hempy right now. I know there is a thread around here on making them, I'll check it out. I want the easiest semi-hydro system possible, and it sounds like hempy is the way to go. Do you have to raise the buckets to feed or check ph/ppm?

No bucket raising required. I have a 20 gallon tub that I put two aeration stones in, fill with water, add nutes, check and adjust ph, water hempy (perlite) twice a week with nutes and once a week with ph'd water. Real simple. Everyone says that you have to rinse the perlite before you use it, I didn't and I had no issues in that regard. Making A Hempy Bucket

If I get a 1K HPS I will def get an air cooled tube/hood with glass, but how much does that actually reduce the heat? I've never used an air cooled hood before. And what do you think about this, I already have a 400W HPS, so should I just add another 400W in the second tent (2 x 400HPS in the 3x3 tent, and 1K HPS in the 4x4 tent, both air cooled tubes)? Trying to save a little cash here brotha. - I plan on building my own small grow box for the Auto Cheese I have, because I want to do an experiment on the 240W Blackstar. They say one Black Star will keep up with a 600W HPS, just a bit lower in performance. I guess it's not all about lumens, it would be about the proper spectrums and what the plant will actually absorb? Do I have that right? - So I'll build the box, hook everything up and just run that one auto just under the black star and we'll see the results! xD

You know i run my 4x4 tent with a 1k a 440 cfm fan 550 prhesh filter and it runs at 75-77 all day for 20 hours So either get a air cooled hood or a cool tube for the 1k. Is the 400w a whole unit with the ballast and junk in one? if so id ditch it . regardless id probably just ditch it and run a 600w air cooled.
