Looking real nice. The C99's are going to be fat budded. I like the contrast of the greens.
They all look super nice, bro. All I've got is a bunch of scrawny seedlings atm, so I'm jealous as hell. :goodjob: opcorn-2:
Thanks all. Believe me, I've made every mistake in the book. I've probably even added a few chapters of my own. I just happen to be on a lucky streak these days. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
Update @ Day 39 of 12/12 We're definitely in the home stretch now. They're all supposed to finish in 55-60 day, so we're getting really close. Here's a side view of the cabinet. I put the camera down on the screen at the right edge of the cabinet looking left. The back of the cabinet is on the right, and you can see a door (and hinge) on the left. Looks like a forest! In the foreground are the C99, which are filling in like crazy. This is the Pure Power Plant, the healthy one. As you can see, the buds are thinner and not very leafy. The deformed PPP is also getting some buds, but is still about 2 weeks behind the others, size-wise. I'm wondering now if it's going to finish with the rest and just have small buds, or if it's slow in developing and will need more time. Unfortunately, it's not going to get it. Here we have the Cheese. I pulled this main cola over sideways so you can get a good look at it. And this is C99 1, the one with lighter green, wider leaves. Nothing to do now but feed them and water them. And wait.
Nice looking plants. You've got them packed in there pretty tight though. Main colas only getting light? Did you top them? opcorn-2:
Thanks. They're actually not packed that tight, it just looks that way when the camera is down at bud level. Below is an overhead shot that shows things a bit better. The only ones I topped were the two C99 because they were so much taller than the rest. PPP 1 on the other hand was so short I had to give it a booster chair just to get its buds over the screen. All @ 39 days of 12/12.
Looks good Tony!! couple more weeks you'll be clipping and starting the journey over again. Godspeed Pimp...Steel
Warlock Smells like a farmers fruit market in morocco. One of my favorite smokes i've grown. Does not get too dense either. Love it. Big fat buds.
Your plants are looking great Tony. You are perfecting you closet grows every month...better SOG everytime! :good job: #1. Are those strains the autoflowers of some sort, Like Lowryder type strain? Cause your SOG looks good and low. Or are you just flowering them early so they stay that size? #2. When reading, you said 55-60 days to finish. Do you mean 60 days from seed or that perticular time? (Thatswhy i asked about the Autoflower question) #3. I suggest you should maybe upgrade to 600w HPS for the extra bud. #4.I suggest you cut away those deep green Lower Leaves off, around all of the plants. Let that HPS penetrate those nice colas for more light and bud.
Thanks. 1. No autoflowers. I vegged 49 days from seed, then flipped to 12/12. I do try to estimate how big they'll end up and try to plan accordingly so the screen will fill in. Sometimes I get luckier than others. Would vegging for 49 days be considered flowering them early? 2. That's flower time (since flipping to 12/12). Since I've never grown any of these strains before, I'm just going by the breeder's info. We'll see. 3. I just upgraded to this light setup (this is my third grow with it), so a 600 watt bulb is probably not in my immediate future. As it is now, I generally grow more than I need anyway. 4. I usually don't remove too many leaves. Instead I try to tuck them out of the way as needed. I'm pretty much always tucking leaves and rearranging to get the most light to the most buds. Hard to tell in the picture, but I think most buds are getting about as much light as possible. And I can't wait to find out what a Moroccan fruit market smells like. They are all very strong smelling right now, very sweet. Seems like I just need to put my hand NEAR them and it comes away VERY sticky and smelling VERY sweet.
Update @ Day 51 of 12/12 I was counting the days till the 55-60 day harvest window, and to my surprise the first day of that window is 4/20! But I'm starting to think they may not all finish in that time. All have some cloudy trichomes now, but none have a lot. In particular, the Pure Power Plant and one of the C99s are still mostly clear. So they've got a ways to go in that respect. Also, they are still growing and are very thirsty. I've been watering them every other day. So that's another sign they've got some finishing to do. They are all very fragrant, although I can't really tell much of a difference between any of them. It's hard to tell though, since once that smell gets on my hands, I can't smell anything else. Seems like I just have to get NEAR them and I'm sticky and reeking. Here's the Warlock. It has a long thin main cola. Here is a nice shot of the two C99 phenos. The two big colas in back are from C99-1 and the two big colas in front are from C99-2. I'll leave it to you to compare and contrast.
OOPS! So an old friend that I haven't seen in years came by for a visit on his way to a business meeting nearby. He's been trying to get started growing outside the last few seasons, and I've shown him pictures of my setup. So he was really anxious to see it. Especially good timing as the girls are at their finest right about now. My light is on at night, so I had to turn it on to show him the cabinet. Not a big deal if the light is on for just a few minutes. The big deal is I forgot to turn it off! D'OH!!!!! We went out to lunch, and about halfway through I became quite sure I didn't turn the light back off. Bottom line, the light was on in the middle of the dark cycle for about 90 minutes. Hopefully things are far enough along that it won't cause a problem. Even if one or more does hermie, it's not like they're going to produce any seeds in a week or 10 days. So it shouldn't be a problem. Right?
Time will tell but I don't think one exposure of 90 min will fuck too much up. I did nearly the same thing myself this last round. If I'm going to be fooling with the plants for more than a few min. I'll turn off the hps & flip on a 60 watt ceiling light just to make it easier to see what's doing & to keep from tuning my garage in to a giant HPS beacon:icon_confused:. Once(and only once) when the girls were about 6 weeks into flowering I forgot to switch off the 60 watt ceilng light. I didn't remember until the damn thing had been on for at least 5-6 hours after the grow room sun should've set. :BangHead: No nanners popped out!! Leaving the HPS on during the night cycle may be entirely different than leaving a 60watt lamp on, I don't know. All I know Is I won't be making that mistake again, I've got plenty of new ones to make.:jj: Sending some anti-hermie vibes your way. Duc
When to Harvest? I'm at day 57 and trying to figure out what to do. Because of my schedule, it's not easy to find the time (3-4 hours) to chop and trim my six plants. I was hoping to harvest them all tomorrow, on day 58, but now I'm not so sure they're all ready. If not, it might be another week or more till I can get to it. Complicating my problem is the fact that I don't have anywhere (with an air filter) to put the plants to dry other than in the cabinet. So if I don't harvest all at once, or within a few days of each other, I'm screwed. It looks like the Cheese and C99s are both ready, so I don't really want to wait another week. They are mostly cloudy with a few amber starting to appear. Which is when I usually harvest. I think the Warlock is about ready too. But the Pure Power Plant is not as far along. Although it has some cloudy trichomes, it's still mostly clear. According to the breeder, the PPP is supposed to finish in 50-60 days. But in the few grow reports I've been able to find, some let it go for 9 weeks. Correction: The blurb from the breeder does NOT give a finishing time. I must have gotten my estimate from other grow reports, which I can't seem to find now. On the other hand, they are all still growing at a decent rate and still relatively thirsty. Both of those factors tell me they are not ready. Usually, amber trichomes appearing coincides with slowed growth and much less need for water. One possibility is to harvest the other four plants, hang them in the cabinet to dry, and leave the PPP going with the light off for a few days. Does anybody know, will the trichomes mature with the lights off? Anybody grow White Label PPP? Any other suggestions?
I'd cut the ones can, but can't you find an old cardboard box are something to hang them in? Anything? Just so you could keep the PPP going.
The problem is odor. I know from experience that hanging just one plant up to dry outside the cabinet will have my whole house reeking within a few hours. I also know from experience that this is something my wife will not be happy about.
Harvest I decided I had to bite the bullet, and I chopped yesterday and today. So the Cheese, Warlock, and two C99s came down yesterday at day 58. The two Pure Power Plant came down today, so they got a bit more time. Although since the light didn't come on, I'm not sure if it counts as an extra day. All were definitely ready, being mostly cloudy with a few amber. I even found one or two amber trichomes on the PPP. I hope it turns out like my last grow where I was worried I had chopped my Kandy Kush too early. Turned out to be my favorite smoke from that grow. If you don't hate trimming, then you're not doing it right! Took about 4 hours total to trim 6 plants. My back is sore, my knuckles won't open, I'm sticky and smelly. I couldn't imagine having to do it with large plants or a lot at one time. On the bright side, I got some really sweet-tasting scissor hash. It's not going to be a record harvest. Last time I got about 5 1/4 oz., this time I'm guessing it will be closer to 4 oz. But it's quality not quantity, and I'm really looking forward to the Pure Power Plant and especially the Cinderella 99. Here's the post-trim picts and weights. You can really tell these plants were grown in a SCROG! Cheese (a freebie seed) - 107.7 g Warlock (another freebie) - 97.6 g Pure Power Plant - 80.2 g. The deformed runt turned out not so bad. Glad I kept it. PPP - 116.6 g C99 - 140.1 g. I did a bit of a looser trim on the Cindy's because they were so frosty! I found a few male flowers on this one when trimming. Obviously not caused by my recent light error, since they were old, dried petals. Only a handful on the whole plant, so it should be no big deal. C99 - 123.9 g Please stay tuned for the cure and smoke report.
Some Buds After drying and about two weeks curing in ziplock bags, I put them all into jars to finish the cure. Here's what they look like. The top three are at the same scale. The Warlock main cola at the bottom is about 3/4 scale (bigger). Remember I said it had a long, thin main cola? The PPP are the only ones that had somewhat airy buds. The rest are pretty dense and solid. The images were taken with a flatbed scanner at 1200 dpi. It really shows in the close up. Smoke report to come. So far, preliminary testing indicates that C99 is everything I hoped it would be, and more. Yowsah!
