Below are some recent shots of the plant which is now 5 weeks into 12/12 lighting.  Everything looking okay?

The lights are 4 140W lamp flos sitting right on top of it.

How long until i shuld start seeing its gender? Pretty sure it will be a hermie anyway, it was neglected and beaten around as a baby.

Also, ive got a fan blowing it around just a little for around 3 hours a day.  All good?

I haven't been on the scene here at GK long, but what I've learned so far, the pic zoomed in shows pistils, associated with alternate nodes = FEMALE! Will anyone concur?

Hope I was right! Good Luck!

...i think ive been mistaking early flower fornew leaf layers for about a week...!

Awesome, i think its a GIRL!

Please tell me im correct... [IMG]

Its got little white hairs in (what i think) is the flower.

How can i tell its not a hermie? If its budding, and its a hermie, should it have pollen sacks yet? Because i see none... [IMG]

First if all im almost sure it a girl.

But one thing is bothering me.....Why the hell are you 12/24?

I think you wanna be at 12/12. 12 on 12 off.

If you were 5 weeks into 12/12 youd have some fat ass buds by now.

Definitely a female and I don't see any nuts so being a hermie is out.

Hoshotnina...alteranting nodes happen on both male and female plants...they only tell you that the plant is sexually mature...nothing else. Kinda like puberty for humans if you will.

qcumbers, if you wants buds to start appearing you have to have your light on 12/12. tweleve hours on and the twelve hours off, and repeat this untill its done.

What good would 12/24 do? 12 hours of light then 24 hours of darkness??? never heard of it.

So now that its flowing, ill take the timer off, and keep the light on all the time?

Set your timer for 12 hours of darkness and 12 hours of light.

Its been on 12 on 12 off for the past 5 weeks.

I was under the impression, that when you see bud, you turn the lights on and keep them on until harvest.

    Am i incorrect?

So, 12 on 12 off now that its flowing?

Your impression was incorrect. The way MJ flowers is by a build up of a hormone called auxin which is only produced during COMPLETE darkness. Any amount of light will stop auxin production and set it back to zero preventing flowering. if you went lights on all the time the plant would never flower.

well dude, If you want the plant to go back to veg you can.

I would just make sure you have the killer lights, and 12/12 for 50 days, well alright.....

When using flos, you want your plant close to the lights.

hey you have that completely backwards. This is how is goes. For Vegging you would keep your lights on for either 24 or 18 hours a day. When you want to flower your plant(s) you would put your light on for 12 of light and then 12 hours of complete darkness. Most plants finish there flowering cycle in 60 days. Now I have a question for you. Were you growing your plant on 12/12 the whole time?? If you are uncertain about something let us know. It's the only way to get any better. And buy a indoor growers guide. That is essential too!!

yea, there seems to have been some kind of mix up.

Ive been using correct light timings the whole way...

I just recently became confused with some incorrect advise.

During veg i had the lights on all the time.

And since i saw alternating nodes and now into flowing, they have been on 12 on 12 off.

    [IMG] Cheers.

man you have to keep the lights set to 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off. you keep it on this schedual untill the bud is finnished maturing and is ready to harvest. the only time you want to keep the lights on longer than 12 hrs a day is when it's in the veg mode. good luck

Another good suggestion is to have your 12/12 going from 6pm to 6am, this is because the electric company doesn't work at these times, so there not going to see the metre moving at an accelerated rate from your extra use.
