A right winger? I’m a moderate, believing both the left and right have their own spin on information to swing the uninformed populous for their agenda.

But that’s politics, right? I think its horseshit.

As for “I don't know saddam.  I sure as hell ain't gonna believe the current media or his daddy's word for it either (read my lips no new taxes). I saw several interviews with him on t.v.  Seemed like a regular guy.”

You just admitted that you don’t know him, so why do you suggest he wasn’t a bad guy. Get f-cking real, he became a murderous, bloodthirsty scumbag. Remember in another post I stated that when he came to power Iraq was the jewel of the middle east for education, that was 30 years ago- lets see that was, hmmm, the 70’s. His paranoia raced through his brain and he started his Stalin like campaign. What you saw is not what you got (like our president).

As for “Why is there a photo of Rumsfeld shaking hands with saddam?” I have no clue but can see your point.

“Your dad made $ under the human rights abuser extraordinaire Bautista?  Under whose rule Cuban's were starving to death?  The guy who allowed the U.S. to use Cuba as its whorehouse?

Funny thing, no other country has a problem with Castro.”

So your saying the fact that my grandfather who worked for the Cuban gov’t during WWII in cooperation with the US gov’t seizing millions of counterfeited US dollars destined for the US soil is some how unacceptable or unethical? Get real- so you’re saying their no starving people in Cuba today? WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!

“I base my opinions of gov't officials by their record.  jr. said there were WMD in Iraq (in fact colin powell said he knew exactly where they were) and inferred that there was a saddam--9/11 link.

    Both lies”

Didn’t we base that on the British gov’t guy who ended committing suicide?

As for Bill only having a stain on Monica’s dress- that was his private life and no one else’s business-not the gov’t. A great waste of our tax dollars. But with all the people dieing around him (like Ron Brown and the bullet hole at the base of his skull) and others, he was no saint by any means.

As for me asking how old you are or where you are from, you are right, it is irrelevant.

But I’ll guess.  Age = approx. 55,  Location =  100 miles from Fan Francisco.? and a pot growing genius.

    A. I don't know you either, but I'm not going to ayromatically assume you're a monster.

Like I said, I saw several taped interviews with saddam. He seemed just as level-headed as our leader (who only got to be president cause his dad once was) and saddam is probably smarter than jr.

And I've seen how our gov't demonizes people they want to kill/overthrow. Makes it easier for the sheeple to accept mass murder done in the state's name, more likely for them to throw away their sons/daughters lives away.

Again I'll ask you if saddam was such a monster, why did we loan him billions and sell him WMD?

I know the answer. It's complex and if I get motivated enough I'll put it all down and post it.

In the meantime why does my age/location have anything to do with facts?

At least I'm glad that you're not the childish insult-monger that your first post seemed to indicate.

--Unless that was written by someone else using your handle, like your brother or something.

Been on vacation, just got back. As to the question on how they (Arabic-Americans) felt about people killed because of the U.S. embargo, I can only tell you the opinions of those I spoke with. They moved to the U.S. to get away from Saddam. They love the U.S. The only person they blame for the conditions in Iraq, is the leader (at the time) Saddam. In my opinion they would know more about the facts than any one else.

  9. rangerdanger

    rangerdanger ***Rest in Peace***

I didn't ask you their opinion of bush.

I asked you how they felt about the U.S.-led embargo costing the lives of 1.5 million innocent civilians, most of who had nothing to do with saddam's policies.

Tell me this--what good did it do, us causing all those deaths from starvation, malnutrion and lack of medicine?

How did the U.S. benefit from refusing to let an Iraqi friend sent anti-biotics to his dying nephew? (Who subsequently died from an easily-treated infection)

How has our 33-year embargo against the people of Cuba helped anyone, Cubans or Americans?

  10. Sweetleafer

    Sweetleafer Germinated

I didn't tell you their opinion of Bush, I told you their opinion of the U.S. They felt Saddam was the one to blame for the problems Iraq had. I don't know if it did any good, other than let other leaders know we wouldn't be pushed around.  Do I think it was fair to the innocent Iraqi's? No.  Do I think we should have done it (embargo)?

Yes.  There is nothing fair in this world. But, if nothing is done there will be no control in this world.  Would you really feel safe if there were nothing done to try and keep some sense of order?

P.S.  I am sorry to hear of that guys nephew.

You know Ranger you're right about the 1.5 million innocent dead, but because of the United States of America? BULLSHIT get your facts straight!!!!! Somehow you obviously missed on the BBC that  most of the people found in the mass(multiple) graves (1.5 estimated) in the desert have had massive or multiply body traumas. I am quoting your liberal media remember that!!!AND they were political objectors( they didn't agree with the status quo government). You're right ranger about the status of Cuba, More people have been put to their deaths but you have absoultely no clue as to what happens there today, remember i have relative there today and I can assure you it's no carribean retreat...All because they refuse to go to todays neo-commie-capitalism beliefs, well another country has, named CHINA!!! Wake up!!! I'm Cuban an believe that if the leader will not be taken over, and its subordinate leaders in the country won't shift to a contemorary society, it will cruble from within. "Sometimes it is best to keep your distance from a firestorm," King of Jordan, 1998.

  12. rangerdanger

    rangerdanger ***Rest in Peace***

I have no idea of the mass graves you keep alluding to.  It never made it to the papers or media.

I'm talking about the 1.5 million (according to U.N. estimates) that died from malnutrition and lack of medicine (1 million of them chidren, according to U.N. estimates).

They were political objectors? How do you know? Do you communicate with the dead? And why were their bodies mutilated after they died of starvation?

I have good friends who are Cubano's.  I've spent a lot of time talking to Mr. Perez about how it used to be. Before we invaded them (Bay Of Pigs) and they had to turn to other nations to protect them, before the embargo, before Castro, under Bautista.

When Cuban's starved to death and died from lack of medicine.  When the streets of Habana were lined with casino's and whorehouses for rich Americans.

The vast majority of the problems the Cuban people face are U.S.-driven.  And it's going to get worse; jr's admin has announced they will no longer let the few humanitarian groups who took medicine and medical supplies to go to Cuba, even through Canada or Mexico, if they do their U.S. ctitizenship will be revoked.

The standard of life in many aspects is lower in Cuda, but so is the crime rate.

If it's so terrible there, why did Elian Gonzalez's dad turn down a cush gov't job when he came to the U.S. to retrieve his kidnapped son, and instead returned to Cuba?

No doubt about it: although Castro has done many good things for his people, he's also a megalomaniac.

He's loved by most Cuban's and the #1 reason he is still in power is because of us and the embargo.  We have created the hardships the Cuban people face.

The reason the U.S. gov't hates Cuba stems back to when Castro nationalized the Cuban economy.  He took over Coca-Cola, the sugar industry etc. and gave them to the people--one of the risks U.S. companies take when they build factories in other countries and give the employee's pennies a day for their labor.   He nationalized the sugar industry and sold sugar to the highest bidder; what's srong with that?

I can tell you one thing for sure: as far as access to medical professionals, the Cuban people are better off than what my gov't offers me.

Before you start on the (well then why don't you go live in Cuba then) arguement that all you cons are so fond of using, I will opt to stay here in a attempt to make things better, like getting rid of georgie-porgie.

I don't mean kill him, I mean getting someone else elected.

I have an aquaintence, a bit of a revolutionary, who dearly hopes jr. will try to steal another election (you may remember that in '00 Americans chose Gore); my aquaintence WANTS a revolution in this country and he, like I do, know that if jr. DOES try to steal the presidency again there WILL be a revolution in the U.S.

And before you go accusing me of starting a revolution, a person doesn't have to be a revolutionary to read the handwriting on the wall.

you know what ranger i read that, love the web site addy too a democratic site that wishes to discredit the current administration, but hey thats their job, even if every word of that document at that web site were 100% true i would still agree with the decsions that have been made. i dont care if we are the aggressor protect the american way of life and our allies thats the bottom line but you make it sound like bush were hitler. almost every other super power has used its might to gain an advantage in one way or the other now is our time and im all for it, as i said before we shold have taken iraq during the gulf war and i dont think we should give it back now. if my family is hungry i will do what is needed to feed them and if america is hungry for oil then lets feed it, since you say thats our only reason for being there. what if it is? good i say make iraq a state and keep it, now what do you have to say to that? call me what ever you want but you arent going to change my mind. im not brainwashed this is what i want, now maybe you will leave me alone, see you seem to think i am stupid. i just see a much bigger picture than you. i want the american way of life to survive, i like it, i want to keep it, if that means taking the whole damn middle east i am for it ok? do you understand me yet? call it what ever you want but i wish to preserve my way of life. what do you think the whole reason for the euro money is? it was to weaken the dollar hence weaken the us economy well if we as a nation sit idly by it would but not if we control the oil its all strategy only the strong survive if you dont have the moral constituion for it then at least shut up and let those that do get the job done or your way of life as you know it will cease to exist and you can have no idea of what that would bring. life is good in the states where is it better? i for one want to keep it that way. what would you have us do? ive asked that before and never got an answer from you. but if you saw the big picture you would understand that we must do this there is no hope for survival of our way of life any other way. you seem to be very good at pointing out faults but when have you offered up a solution? ive havent read it. im so tired of your "the sky is falling" the sky is falling" attitude you know what chicken little the sky didnt fall and its not falling now either.

    I see.

So you have no problem with the destruction of the U.S. as long as you keep your gut overfull.

Because this nation has survived many hardships, and up until recently did it without Iraq being a state( which, btw, is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever heard).

We didn't need to kill thousands of innocents to preserve our way of life. We didn't need a revocation of our constitutional rights with the "patriot" act.

We don't need Iraqi oil, or oil from the middle east at all. We can get all the oil we need from right here in the America's.

You asked who has a higher standard of living than here in the U.S.? Well, the Scandanavian counties for 4.

Japan has a lower birth mortality rate and people live longer there also.

But at least you made yourself clear. Let bush get away with murder, rape and robbery.

    Gotcha.

Ok, I'm getting a better read on you now.

    Your also anti-Christian.

Bush lies like a dog and has taken steps to revoke the Constitution and you say liberals are destroying the country.

Just like a conservative, unable to see the truth.

You say you'll do anything it takes to keep your belly full. Does that mean that if you were broke (or kicked out of your parents basement) that you'd kill the people next door for a cheeseburger?

If there was a person bleeding to death on a street corner would you prefer to let them die if they didn't have money for a hospital?

How do you feel about staving babies. You don't care about them anywhere else on earth so I guess you wouldn't mind seeing poor kids starve to death here in the U.S., right? Don't wanna give those damn kids any of YOUR money do you? **** 'em.

    Right?

How do you feel about gov't subsidized immunization? How about aid to the crippled, the infirm, orphans, wounded soldiers? **** them too, right?

And I bet you're against social security too, huh.

    Boy you're a prize.
