Folks don't like socialism? Then they don't like the good ol' U.S. of A. Social Security is socialism. Medicaid (the most popular medical program in US history) is socialism. The interstate highway system is socialism. Our parks system is socialism. Basically any shared public burden or public asset is socialism at its purest. Laisse faire Capitalism on it's own is unworkable. Socialism without private ownership of capital and individual risk/reward is unworkable. The most successful economies and balanced societies are a blend of both. We've been a blend since the first time a tax was imposed to share the burden and benefits of our society....so roughly 200 years now. My guess is most people who scream 'socialism' as if it's a pejorative actually have no idea that they participate in socialist endeavors every day of their lives.

Here's the deal....you can supply side all you want and it get's nowhere when the greater population is experiencing decreasing buying power. (Duh!) Stockman realized this. Conservative economists understand this. Plutocrats and oligarchs pretend this isn't true because it hurts their short term gains. People who listen to oligarchs and plutocrats while punching down on the economic ladder are being lied to and controlled by those higher than them on the ladder. It feels good....it feels empowering......but it's all fake and counter to sound economic principles that help all people and create a more sound, stronger, economy.

All I see every time a Trumpsucker bleats defense of President Tiny Hands in face of his incredible bullshittery is a cuck. Btw...you have absolutely no idea how insurance works or you wouldn't have used that absurd repub talking point. It's shared cost. It's pooled rates. It's using actuarial data to predict burden vs pool of insured. Why should a woman have to pay premium to cover prostate cancer? Hint.....because shared burden by the entire pool creates lower costs overall. We had ala carte med insurance in the 50's-70's. It wasn't until individual states started pooling rates and requiring uniform coverage that individual premium costs stabilized. But is that scratch of the surface too deep an analysis? If it is, keep that throw away Paul Ryan soundbite simplistic bullshit...it's easier to repeat and doesn't require real thought.

I don't know about insurance? I've had to buy policies every year for myself, wife, and children for the past 16 years...you're right, never once read them, I usually just close my eyes and point to one, then move on to the next family member. When I say buy them, i mean exactly that, we don't have family plans and what not at my corporation in my state because we don't have enough employees to fall under that so it's cheaper and easier for us to buy our own. So I had to buy one for me, wife and three kids. And the kicker, the program you absolutely love and adore...ACA absolutely blocks the chances of me ever being on my corporate policy because I don't live in the state our HQ is in. That's cool though right? Or paying an extra tax for buying a plan that's to good by government standards...makes total sense

And it's almost laughable about the prostate argument. Up til the ACA women and men were charged vastly differently. Because a vagina can spit out babies every year so that was factored in...you know the pink pussy march even stated that a vagina wasn't preexisting condition (which in reality it is). Risks associated with each person determined insurance amount, because people aren't equal. Shared burden is a loaded statement, because insurance itself is shared burden....but so is social medicine, so honestly I don't understand what you are saying.

Or are you saying like in social medicine that some should pay at the ass, others close to nothing for the same treatment....that's equality in your eyes? Just like in Europe were people subsidize their state coverage with private insurance because the state coverage sucks (kinda like medicare here you know). UK system is broke, aint fixing that shit, reducing benefits and literally having people that aren't doctors decide treatment options based off costs. Sounds like a great system.
