Here is another update. The Cotton Candy Kush plants in the table are growing away and looking pretty good. I topped them all and they are about 5 days into 12/12. On Friday I will do a res change and then be switching them to bloom nutes. I m noticing that my PPMs are climbing daily in my reservoir despite adding plain water each day to top it off. Today I did a 20% change out for some plain water and PPMs are at 1200 after the change down from 1500. I started at 700 PPM when I mixed it. I'm guessing that means my mix was too strong and the plants are taking up more water than nutrients? Anyway they are still healthy and pH is adjusted daily but not taking too much to adjust it down to where it should be. Here are the plants as of today.

Here are a couple of pics of the Cotton Candy Kush that yielded most of the clones in the table. It's 15 days into 12/12 and coming along nicely. I've only flowered this strain out once before so I'm hoping it's as good as I remember and worth keeping and running 30 of them in the flood table.

    Update with pics!

Another update. Some things have changed since the last update. I have switched from General Organics nutrients to General Hydroponics nutrients 3 Part Flora following Useless' formula. So I started with a complete reservoir change out for fresh water and I ran that for 2 days and Then I ran FloraKleen at final flush strength for a day. Then another res change and mixed up a batch of week 3 bloom according ti Useless' formula at a slightly reduced strength just to be safe. I mixed in 70 gal worth of nutrients to 80 gal of water and the plants are loving it. I only needed 5ml of pH up to bump it to 5.6 and it has stayed pretty stable only climbing to 5.9 after 4 days. I have had to add about 10 gal of water to keep it topped off and the PPM has also stayed stable climbing very little over 4 days from 925 to 960. The plants have exploded and are really looking happy. Temperatures have been colder here and my A/C wont run properly so I have had to disable the Co2 in order to be able to ventilate the room and maintain an acceptable temperature. I'm sure it'll warm up soon enough, it's Southern Cali. Anyway I'm really happy that I switched to Useless' formula. I'll be keeping the updates coming...... Oh and I started keeping a daily hand written journal so I can keep close track of everything from PPM levels and pH to pest treatments clone schedule, mother feed schedule etc. etc. I need to get more efficient and run this like a professional setup and not just a decent home grow. Alright, alright here are some pics.....:thumbs-up: :passsit:

Hey thanks you guys. I'm not showing off per say. I am pretty happy with the results I am getting from Useless' Formula though and I wanted to put up some pics to show the difference from when I was feeding them the G.O and when I switched it up. Pretty insane growth already.

I'm liking the Smart Pots. I have roots poking out of them all over the place now. Usually they get air pruned but I'm flooding my tables 6 times a day so they stay pretty moist in the bottom of the pots and the channels in the tables always have some moisture in them, so maybe the roots will kinda stretch out a little, but I didn't cover the table with Panda Film this time so I dunno how much roots will like the light that penetrates to the table, but we'll see. I even went and bought some 5 gal. Smart Pots for my Moms. Hopefully they allow them a healthier root mass and I can get them nice and bushy for taking 50 clones at a time off of them.

rasganjah your new setup looks killer!

What are the specs on the table? 4x8 with 3k above?

Very interested in the cotton candy kush.

4' x 8' table with 2 1k watt lights above it. 100 gal res. but I only use 80 gal. Useless 3 part formula. 2 50 lb. Co2 tanks and a Sentinel Environmental Controller. 18.5k BTU A/C unit, 1500 watt heater, sealed room.

This is only the second time I have flowered this strain out. It has a sweet smell with a slightly kushy undertone and a similar taste. Good relaxing high that is very pleasant. A good all around daily smoke. Maybe it will be even better this time than last time. It looks frostier this time than I remember.

I'll snap some new pics tonight. They have grown a bunch since the last pics and are developing nice little buds. Lots and lots of roots are visible poking out of the Smart Pots now too.

Hey Ras, nice looking grow. What is causing the problem with this plant? I have one that looks exactly like that. Mine seems to not like nitrogen so much and may have gotten nute lockout because of too much N.

What confuses me is that the lower yellow leaves say not enough N but the rest of the plant is shiny and the leaves are curling which says too much nitrogen. And then there are the top leaves which look a little light which looks to me like a cal/mag issue. So see, I am confused!

Okay, this strain is a weird bitch. She always has those waxy looking leaves even without the over N curl. The N curl is from having some extra N in the soil when I switched her to 12/12 and she doesn't like too much N during early flower. She seems to be a very finicky girl when it comes to flowering nutes. Despite looking that way (the last time I flowered her she looked almost identical) the buds will come out very dense and pretty large if she does what she did last time. All I can say is that I don't have her wants and needs dialed in for flowering yet, but she's kinda weird looking to begin with.

    No problem!

I love the SOG its great if you have tonnes of light and keep veg times fairly short.....I have found with my particular setup having fewer plants but allowing them to veg for 45-60days with some training yields much more finished product. I would recommend instead of adding 10 more plants veg the existing plants for a longer duration but that's just my opinion.

  19. rasganjah

    rasganjah True Ganjaman

That doesn't suit my setup. I have limited height, so if I wanted to grow less bigger plants I would really need to scrap my whole setup and go with a RDWC system or Ebb N Grow buckets. I'll just have to see how my yields are with teh SOG method and make a determination based on that.

  20. canadian123

    canadian123 hemp ninja

Ahh I see that makes sense if height is a concern then there is no better way then SOG.

I'm sure your yields are going to be fantastic!

The other thing you can try is vegging for a longer period of time but do some training and pinching to stunt the vertical growth and allow them to fill out the table better.

This is the fun of growing and trying new methods. I see 40 plants on that table as over kill there is going to be bad crowding. You'll have to shorten veg times or by the time they are done the stretch they are going to be cramped. With 40 on the table I think you will see a decrease in the size of the fruits. Over all yield may stay the same but average size of the fruits will go down.

Just by looking at your pics if you get the plants the same size as this grow before flowering I see no benefit to adding another 10 plants unless your increasing the available light and over all foot print of the grow.

I'm not trying to undermine your idea I've just been down this road before so I'm sharing my experience. If you do try 40 I'll be here glued to my laptop watching becuase you do an amazing job and either way your yields are going to be impressive to say the least.
