Bucket size


Hey Mr.GJ,


Do you have the same strain planted in both a 5 gal and smaller pot to make a comparison?


I'm planning on using 3.5 Gal for my Hempys, but if there is a big difference between that and the 5 Gal then I might use the bigger bucket.

 

Hey Happy, no I don't, but I would still just use the 3.5 gallon buckets...


The plants that are in the 3.5 gal buckets verses the 5 gal buckets look just as good. The only reason I used the 5 gal buckets is that's what I started with and relized to late that the buckets were overkill.. 3.5 gal are the best for space and all that...

I don't know how I missed this whole thread, I need to pay more attention to the hydro section. Anyways wanted to say those buds look excellent. I grew a bubblicious and it was the best plant ever. Great high and very yummy. I must say, those are some interestingly shaped plants. Odd, but in a good way All so different.....

Yes I agree cannagirl, so many different shapes. The first picture was topped that's why it looks wide and flat topped. The last picture was growing tall before flowering and I was sure that it was going to be a male, but surprise!!! I got a girl out of it... Later Cannagirl

 

Dust


I started mixing the perlite/vermiculite for my Hempy buckets, and discovered how much dust is stirred up. It isn't pleasant on the sinuses when inhaled.


I recommend wearing a dust mask while handling those grow mediums.

 

Yea Happy, I Mix mine in a 20 gallon plastic storage container outside,than I bring it in and fill the pots... one other tip.. When I drill the hole near the bottom of the pot I glue a piece of nylon screen over the hole than when I water you don't loose any potting material that I found does wash out sometimes...

Happy, I used something called shoe goo it stays pliable even after curing. You can buy it at any walmart shoe dept..
