The A/C unit is a big ass window unit. I bought a big one so hopefully it won't need to work that hard to keep it cool in the room. My room is only 11'x11' and it has a 4'x6' closet as well. So you think the Co2 tank is the way to go then. I'm all for it since I won't need to run any gas lines to the room then, plus no added heat is a good thing. A 50 lb. tank is about how big?.... I'll look it up. How long does it usually last you? What kind of Co2 sensor/regulator do you recommend? Co2 is the one thing I have no experience with. I have read up on it, just never actually utilized it. I'm actually right there with you on the soil thing. I love good organic soil grown ganja, preferably outdoor. I'm going with the hydro to make my own comparisons and trying to increase my yields. If I don't like it, I will go back to soil. I'll probably do a few soil plants in the closet under the 5'th light. I'll be watching for all your posts. I think I can benefit from hanging around you. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, it's much appreciated. :thumbs-up: asssit:
Uhhhhh...... Derrrrrrr........ Uhhhhhh Huuuhhh? :mashed: Not it's capacity it's physical size goof ball.:mashed:
Ya I know I just can't control the smart ass part of my mind. I gave up trying years ago. A 50 lb tank is about 4 feet tall and about 8 to 10 inches across. If you have ever seen the tanks attached to a welder, those are 50lb tanks. Peace...
I saw an add for some 50 lb tanks for $100 is that a good deal? They are used from a paintball store.
Get a Sentinel CHHC-4 Atmospheric Controller, I have a super dope hook up on grow equipment, maybe I can be of some help to you in that department. Also, I suggest running all your ballasts on 240 if you can, takes up WAY less amps when you use multiple lights. you dont want to be another story of "indoor marijuana grower burns down rental home" a 50lb CO2 tank will last weeks. also depends on a million other factors. Just being in my big garden, breathing, I can spike my PPM of co2 to 2000+ in about an hour. thats the glory of the sentinel, it shuts your CO2 off when it gets too high, you waste nothing. if you have more questions hit me up, this shit is my bread and butter.
Okay I'll look into that controller. I'll probably snatch up 1 or 2 of those 50 lb tanks too. I was looking into getting one of these PPM-3 Co2 monitor/controller by Custom Automated Products. http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=322&navid=30 Unless you know where I can get the Sentinel CHHC-4 for less than $600 which is around what they seem to go for. All my electrical work has been done. All my lights are on a single mechanical timer, and they all run on 240V My A/C has it's own breaker and receptacle. I've been planning and re-planning this for months and it's all finally coming together. I will also be installing a couple automatic fire extinguishers just for added protection.
Im sure that CO2 monitor you mentioned would work just fine. HOWEVER, all it will do is control your CO2 tank/regulator and CO2 levels. The sentinel would do all of that, ON TOP OF control your AC control a Heater (if needed) and control Dehumidifiers (if needed) It basically controls your whole room.... VERY VERY VERY user friendly I can get them for $625 all day, maybe less http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=sentinel+chhc-4&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=1562646806317194080&ei=1eAbTb3eFpP4sAOUgrWOCg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQ8wIwAA#
Im trying to do a weekly update here I decided. I feed on wednesdays. I switched to Flower on a Wednesday. Today Is Wednesday. Im Uploading pictures today. and every following wednesday. here you go.
So, that is an air conditioner and a fan to the right of your plants there? I'm still not quite sure what you've got inside the tent with your plants. asssit:
the tent is still having the kinks worked out of it. there is an 8,000 BTU AC in there, yes. and the fan is there too. its more just to move air around than anything. is anything in there striking you as odd?
No, not at all. It's just that since I just started my first tent grow, I'm actually starting to pay attention to what people have in their tents. Thanks for posting. If I might ask a question, what would be the trade-offs having CO2 in the tent vs just a good air intake? asssit:
if you are augmenting with CO2, your plants will grow so fast, you can watch them grow before your eyes. baseline CO2 levels differ from any given area to the next. 250PPM-650PPM for instance, like i was saying before, If i stand in my big room (18x12), I can spike to CO2 to over 2000 in an hour. If you live in an apartment building where people breath all day and night, and there is little or no air exchange, you can bet the CO2 will be very high. Also areas with really high polution and smog, thats massive amounts of CO2 right there. You can count on getting a 30% better harvest or even better from adding CO2, if you use 1200 PPM, thats roughly double the natural outside levels. for every 100 PPM of CO2 you add to your room over 500 PPM, raise the temp of your room by 1 degree. examples 500 PPM CO2 = 76 degrees 1000 PPM CO2 = 81 degrees 1200 PPM CO2 = 83 degrees If you start with a CO2 level of 650 like me (in veg), I raise the CO2 100 PPM every week until I flower. Once I switch to 12/12 I change the PPM of CO2 to 1000. week later, 1100, next week 1250. I let them go on 1250 PPM for the next 4 weeks, the last 2 weeks of flower, I dumb the CO2 back down to 1000, the last week to 800. I also dim my lights down to 750, then to 600 the last 2 weeks of flower as well. hope this helps. if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.
