ummm yea my bad...it was my fault, I put this bad mofo on a speed controller....well, no can do, it heats up to much and the fan has a "thermal breakdown" and goes auto shutoff......I went back in today and ta-da plug er back in and its all good

So actually kudos to MAX FAN!

I grab a huge ass fan while doing some demo in a chemical lab. I think it's 14" , motor shot , bought a new one for 100 on ebay. The thing will blow you over. The big ones are no joke!! I was wondering about a speed controller on it.

I'm assuming only fans that run on DC can be controlled?

1700 cfm through a single flex duct can probably do quite the number:5eek::roffl: ...sorry for laughin'.....it ain't funny... but I'd have liked to seen that.

gimmie a few more weeks of tweaking and organizing and she'll be looking perfecto and blooming with flowers galore!!!

also found some 12inch insulated ducting locally, so I threw it on instead of doing a hardpipe....quieted the beast down BIGTIME....hard pipe only if this thing gets ripped up...it should be fine now tho
