that's TYVEK tape, like a heavy duty packing tape that's used on housewrap, I used it on everything...its badass stuff...that and metal ducting tape is your best friend for sealing and sticking, fuck duct tape...it dryrots after while with all the air movement that's going on, then delaminates and falls apart....as far as the garage door, I got the wider exterior gasket strip and pushed it super tight, nailed it every 6inchs, caulked the edges...then inside I did something similar with a reverse idea, only place hard to get light/air tight is the very top 2 corners where they overlap, but that's like barely enough to fit a toothpick thru
feels like relief now but in the process I was shitting bricks hoping that it all jived together...but running a true sealed room is a first for me or anyone I ever knew who grew...been a challenge getting it dialed in and VERY expensive but its all paid for now and its literally over building stuff, cant do it any better ( I dont think) just gotta roll with the learning curve at this point but, it feels good having a legit setup and especially OUT of my kids daily life
I appreciate that CC, that means a lot, You have my respect CC, and some day I may get lucky and see your place. Untill then I'm sure I could learn a thing or too from you too buddy. :thumbs-up: asssit:
You got some security or game cams set out? It's always good to know if anybody's been poking around when you're not there. Glad to hear the pucker factor has gone down. :redbong:
dude that's awesome venting! Here at the ranch I vent underground too, and you know what I did ? Built a wood rack / lean to type thing over the final vent. Not only does it keep the weeds from waving around in the breeze alerting a passerby to the strange crack in the ground belching hot air, but it seasons my firewood too. And any heat signature will be obscured and disguised. I buried the actual opening under the floorboards of the thing, and sealed it with chicken wire real good to keep out varmints. Even a close inspection by a suspicious person would reveal nothing. You have to move a cord of wood and tear down the shed to even SEE the opening. With all that foamboard and all that air moving, plus your attic space under the roof AND the roof properly vented, you shouldn't have FLIR worries. Hell my attic is hotter than yours is right now, guaranteed. I mean its WWWAAAYYYY hotter in my attic in the summer than it is in my growrooms, so a hot attic/roof without any special patterns marking where lights are shouldn't attract attention.
working on it right now actually.. Thinking of going with satellite internet so I can put an app on my phone to watch a 6 camera HD surveillance system I bought a while back, kinda dropped the ball on that one during the beginning stages, now gotta figure it out with the right scenario....but all in all, my driveway is about 600ft long off of a hillbilly back road and that road is off a semi main road...not really worried bout a passer-by...theres a huge 5ft tall gate at the road all locked up too
also, nothing exciting but I popped some new beans too 4 lemonberry 5 Redneck Express 5 Chrystal guna make a huge order in beginning of October, stock up on some killer beans in a big way Any ideas??? Def guna grab some Tangie, Blue Dream...umm
I've always done the same in my personal and couple other 3K or less setups because you can get some damn good results with good air exchange rates. Though you can never do what you could with proper CO2 supplementation in the right environment. The larger rooms I've ran or helped setup or help maintain with others we always used C02. The thing is with elevated temps the plant is capable of fixing more carbon than at lower temps, so while you may be running optimally at say the 75-80* range, if you went to around 85-90 the plant can absorb more. Honestly I prefer larger open spaces that are sealed with, CO2, mini splits and a secondary dehumidifier just in case. You run any dehumidifiers in the lung room or anything? The most recent one, which was put together about ehhh 3 years or so ago I'd say, We noticed that dehumidification of the air prior to introducing it helped make a decent difference room temp during lights on. Though we tinkered with the exhaust profile using a some nice old lab equipment thoroughly decontaminated and tested. Used some old air handler stuff for fume hoods and some Siemens automation with some siemens apogee controllers. :thumbs-up: Looking good though!
Heres the VEG room basically finished off...got 3 - 8bulb HO T5 setup over a 2x4 table each, they hit the table perfectly, look closely and you can see the little 4bulb T5 under the table that is going to be used for new seedlings and sexing plants, maybe a cloner or 2 if needed I did away with all HIDs in this room too, stays nice and cool in this room which makes for a happy flower room..since it exhausts into the flower room. Also you can see the little cart(s) I made to fit into the aisles, I can run 6 plants per cart...I made 7...its just to fill in the dead spaces and max out light production...all are on swivel casters so I can roll them out and into the veg room when I need to do work....they look flimsy right now but this was just a test cart for size n space, ill beef em up....its a 2x3 mortor tub from lowes and a 16 gallon garbage can
Nice man, I've already got my next expansion planned out because of this thread, and the fact I don't have room to keep the moms I want.
Here is round/row 2....a 4x4 and a 8x4 table, 50gal and 75 gal res (shoulda went with the 100gal) Got 61 in there which will be shrank down about 6-9 plants for next round in this same row....that 8x4 is jammed way too tight for my liking This time I was able to top the entire 8x4 table of plants, each plant has atleast 4-8 branches, so it should make for quite the nice canopy this time, then I put all the single branch plants into the 4x4 table Its a mix of White Rhino, Dabney Blue, LA Confidential and Pre 98 Bubba Kush Ill be throwing up a trellis net at about week 3, or once they get done with the stretch, which is minimal cuz im able to keep the temp swings within 4-8 degrees from off to on..
I'm using those 8 bulb T5 4' rigs. Love em. Pretty much same growth rate as the 1000W MH w/o all the heat and BS. :goodjob:
I feel the same way...I shelved the HIDs in the veg room and got 3 of the 8 bulbs, room went down by 5 degrees alone
