I started the preliminary steps of my 2012 outdoor garden today. I am germinating 10 Blue Chocolate and 10 Moon Wreck. I will also be growing the Killing Fields F3 and Jack F7 if those arrive. I will be growing in a different spot in the yard this year, it should provide better security all the way around. The soil is not the greatest but I have grown corn, melons, peppers and an assortment of winter vegetables in the spot without any issues. The space measures 20 feet x 10 feet. Because of the poor soil I am going to be using the Sub Cool Supersoil mix. I plan on digging some deep holes and then back filling them with about 50% Supersoil and 50 percent of Masters Nursery Pride soil. I will be starting the Supersoil this weekend or next as it has to cook a long time. The seeds will be grown indoors until the middle of May under a 2 bulb florescent grow light (slow and mellow), at that time they will be hardened off by putting them outside for increasingly longer periods. About the last week in May they will go into my holes. I will not be using any supplements, additives, any additional fertilizers or non organics in this grow. If bugs become an issue then only organic control methods will be used.
And only because I am starting with seeds. They have to be grown out, cloned, sexed, phenos selected, soil needs to get mixed, holes to be dug, irrigation for that spot is fucked up and needs to be fixed. Ah, the farmers life!
looks good man, im glad your already getting started with the outdoor season:coolbounce: good luck with your grow, i will be watchingopcorn-2:
Good LUck I will put this on the Burner and think about outdoors. Hell its still snowing out here. I thought about going on a outdoor multi black rose planting spree useing clones and hit differant plotted areas planting a few here and there. t6
Nice strains and a good looking spot you got there. Makes me wish I could do some outdoor. I'll have to live vicariously through you. opcorn-2:
Yeah I got the munchys and thats cruel posting that sweet corn!!! What the hell is that plant in the first pick on the far left of the corn sticking out. Looks kind of like a kiwi plant or something. t6
They're up and growing! Sweet! :goodjob: I just sowed my seeds for my vegetable garden over the weekend. I put in some Yard Beans, Radishes, Lettuce, and started my Tomatoes and Peppers indoors. Sadly, that's all I will be growing outdoors for the foreseeable future. asssit:
Very nice MG. I love your ambition! For whatever it's worth I followed a thread highly detailing an amazing outdoor, purely organic grow, on another forum. The guy used lasagna stack composting for his plots growing in a greenhouse. No exaggeration, he was rolling 13 ft plants yielding around 8lbs or more each. He was very methodical about improving efficiency. The conclusion he reached was that his plants' roots tended to spread radially, as opposed to depth-wise. He dug his plots only 2' deep, but with a 5-6' diameter. Food for thought before you break your back digging deeper than 2' Wish I could join you this year, I had huge plans that I spent the entire winter thinking up. Circumstances have changed here last minute. I'm moving pretty soon so I can't do outdoor. Not even sure if I'll grow anymore. So I as well will be living vicariously through you!
