I doubt 69 is cold enough to make it purple. Must be a genetic influence. Damn fine looking bud though!
Disco's Vertical Jungle! Pics from 10/1/13Over the past couple weeks I have made changes to my garden, and these changes seem to have improved my garden tremendously! There are still much more changes to come in the future, but that isn't going to stop my ladies from doing their thing. The biggest change has been changing my bulb over to a 600w Ushio Hi-Lux Opti-Red HPS bulb. Here are it's specs: View attachment 18412 This sucker is bright! Here are my girls, I'll label them and talk about them as I go!Silver LA. It's probably getting the citrus notes from the jtr side. My jtr smells just like lemon candy, worst yielder of the bunch too.
Number 5 is going to be the yielder out of the two. It's just not as crystally as the other one. It's going to be hard to decide what to backcross my Mary Magdalene F1 Hybids with.
Thanks for looking in, BongRippa! I'm still not satisfied with my results, though... There is always room for improvement! :bong-2:
There's always room for more study, experimentation, and improvement But as things stand you should be proud of your hard work thus far. This thread over the last year shows VERY obvious growth as a grower. Your cloning process is dialed, weights have increased in pretty stable jumps as you identified and fixed the most limiting factors, and your recent expansion shows what should be another stable and high weight increase. You've got pest control figured out after battling with it for what, 10 months? Yeah. Something like that. Looks to me like you've finally figured out the process that leads to consistent improvements over time. That's the best that you can do - not be satisfied with dialing in to "good enough!"
Silver LA Harvest @ Day 65 12/12 Silver LA came down the other day, so I took some pics of everything before hanging it up to dry. Here are the shots! After removing the stems and getting her fully trimmed, she was 190g wet. Nice fat nugs!
400w MH Digilux Bulb and ballast added to veg set-up. This will give me a total of 700w in the veg room, when I have my 200w CFL and cloning lights on. The 200 will take care of everything that is rooted, and younger than 3 weeks.
Beauty! You'll be booming that out in no time. With that small of a veg space do you even need the extra lights? Or would reflected light or direct light from a greater distance from the 400 be enough for clones and short plants? Also, how's the heat coming? That'd be my main concern.
The way I have it, is 2x2 gets lit horizontally with the 200w CFL on one side. This gives me a light for the clones and seedlings that have been put into solo cups. The cloning machine is in a cabinet below the 2x2 area. This gives 3 stages of veg. The remaining 3x3 gets lit by the 400w hanging vertically. I have it on all my plants at the moment, but this is going to change once my older clones hit their 1 gallon pots. There won't be enough space for the younger plants once I have 8-10 plants going in 1-2 gallon pots. I am still working out the details on how I would like to arrange things inside of the veg area. View attachment 18415 The red boxes are white plastic shelves I have put into the grow area, for elevating the plants off of the floor.Temps in my veg room have not gone past 75, and the ambient temp in my basement maxes out at about 78 currently. Once I get my 6 inch fan pulling out of my veg room and into a scrubber, it will be even less. /monthly_2013_10/veg.jpg.2b63f6601defd188f3e45c9a9dd5c30f.jpg
Nice. Don't forget to keep the weaker lights closer to your young'uns, for stretch if you're concerned with that at all.
3 stages of veg sounds really interesting. Efficient way to upgrade your space without outgrowing your old equipment anyway. How's the 400w working in that 3x3 space? Any burning?
There hasn't been burning from the light yet. My SSH has had some nute issues, but other than that... good to go! Pics coming tonight.
