I've got two weeks until Jesus comes down, and then everything follows suit shortly after this. I've also got my very own seeds that I plan on germinating very soon! DISCO Mary Magdalene seeds are going to be popped and the testing for my Cannabis Cup pheno will begin! If I cannot find one out of the 45 seeds I've got... then Jesus #1 or EeVee are going to Seattle next year for the cup. If anything, I am only building up some anticipation between my future posts!

My Silver LA was the heaviest producer last round. About 60 grams off of a single cola plant. I'm sure you'll hit your goal! You're much more dialed in than I am. I need to quit experimenting with different soils. Too many variables I am leaving up in the air right now. I need to find something where I can set up a drip system, and let the soil do everything.
I've been reading about True Living Organics... Its a soil building, layering and spike technique. Basically pot everything in the soil structure, add layers of specific nutrients, establishing a living soil. Using compost teas once a month or so.. then straight water

That's what I'm trying to do. I've inherited some soil from a few people, so that's the reason for the inconsistency. I can't turn down good soil! I would like to either strengthen the ResinRubber recipe to feed the plant all the way through, or I may be switching to something else. I'm trying to get away from top feeding, because it's getting tedious now. 8 gallons of water per watering day for the garden. I need something that will take me all the way to the end of flower without lockout/deficiencies kicking my ass.

Maybe you ate washing it too long... I make sure my container, trim, and alcohol are in the freezer and ice cold... Then I wash the trim with alcohol for no more than a minute tops
Thanks, JR! My oil used to come out a chocolate brown, so the amber is definitely a good sign, that I'm getting better at the process. I would say that heat and a mix of terpenes can effect the color of the finished product. If you are using colorful strains, then some of the oils will turn out darker. When I made Purple Kush oil, the oil was chocolate colored even on medium heat. There was already a rich amount of amber/darker trichomes in it, so I believe the color could also be manipulated just because of what you're working with. I've tried preparing it frozen or fresh, and I haven't noticed an observable difference. Past a minute and a half of quick wash, and the chlorophyll will also be extracted from the medium.
Nice looking iso Disco.:thumbsup: BB be right on the dark color. Freeze everything, iso, wash jar, material, and keep wash times under 60-90 seconds. Use plenty of iso to give a good wash. More iso is better than more time for a clean product. If you want to have some fun, take a pan of evaporating iso-wash and expose it to UV (direct sunlight). The chlorophyll oxidizes red and it smooths out your hash. Don't leave it exposed for long or you'll start to degrade THC. Hey Disco...why you using heat to evap?
I have been using heat, mainly because of where I started with BHO. I was taught the stove top method, and just kinda kept doing it once I changed solvents. I think I've also become impatient, and I kind of dread how long it would take to evaporate a gallon of ISO after washing a half pound. Even with heat, it took about 8 hours to evaporate the 3 quarts used in my last run. ISO is definitely something I am going to be doing more research on. I never would have thought to try it without heat. ISO and solventless hashes/oils are something that I want to get involved with. I strongly dislike BHO, which is why I tried these methods to begin with.
I did it using heat mats at first too. After going to low low heat, or air movement only, the Iso took on a completely different texture. It's well worth the wait.
I'll try this and let the next batch sit out and evaporate with air. This hash oil is very tasty, but I am finding that I could always use ways to improve upon it. Thanks for your tips Resin! I've seen some of your ISO pics and they have my mouth watering every time!
