MALES: 8 out of 13 are MALE. Not the luck i was hoping for but i do have 3 ladies showing pistils to work with so far, and 2 more that i think will go female in the next day or two. It looks like i will probably go to Lowes and scope out some good containers for these ladies very soon. Somewhere from 3-5gallons should suffice ? Getting this transplant done in the next week still leaves plenty of time for bloom right ? I will post pics of the ladies in a day or two. Thank the MJ Gods that my biggest BUSH is female. She has atleast 6 tops... I need to get her in more soil, she will prob stay centered in the light and be the star of the show. So i have 5 plants in the grow and 1 more that is still veg'ing. So if i have a legit 4 ladies to flower i need to pull 1.5oz per to be happy. I hope this is attainable, i think it is.
The 3 ladies so far : And my favorite : As you can see, these are 3 competely different strains. They are unknown bagseeds. I think i will have 2 more females in a day or two still. Repotting this weekend into 5gal buckets. I know MG Soil sucks to you pro's but it is working for me. Drainage:
Hey Natural...healthy looking plants:thumbs-up: You might want to try your hand at training and either pinch or tie that lanky first plant down before it gets to far out of control. cheers,
Yes i have been hesitant to do so, but upon your prompting i gave it a shot. First i transplanted into a bigger containter, drilled some holes, and looped some string over the two tops, in two different places. I brought this plant down to the same height as the other 3. Is this ok ? Im curious if the string stays on the rest of the grow, do i need to do anything to stop it from growing into the stem? I also scored 1 more lady today, she showed white hairs. So im up to 4, and i think that is it for this round. 4 Fems. The other 3 get 5 gallon buckets when the lights come back on.
Poifect! you can haul those strings down until the sucker is damn near upside down and the tops will still turn back upward. Besides controlling height you're allowing the lower budsites to better develop. No need to worry about the string cutting the plant. looks like you left it plenty loose. cheers,
Damn her tops were already pointed straight back up after the lights came back on... i figured it would take a few days.
Swweeeeet moves Natty.....now to even try another move Take the tallest part of said plant (you can do this with multiple tops of a vegging plant).....find a suitable spot on the stalk where you want it to be "Bent" at....then with your fingers RUB that spot back in forth between your finger and thumb....until it begins to get soft and then you gently bend it over and leave it lay/hang Now if you have a seriosly WOODY stalk, this will not work.....but a soft plyable stalk is key....you also may see that the stalk will SPLIT when bent over.....this is OK, it will make it just fine Then after a half day or so, you will see the plant begin to rise up again towards the light and then a few weeks after that you will notice your tree is now a bush and now instead of 1 single big top cloa bud....you now have 5.6.7.8.9 etc... Good luck NattyNat!
1 girl is unusually droppy today and she doesn't need watering. I have no idea's, her leaves are all perfect... Hopefully she perks back up when the lights go off.
I went ahead and fed the droopy looking lady today in hope it perks her leaves up. First water since transplant. Her leaves are still solid green and she is still growing. Just saggy...maybe its the strain.
Just tuning in. Looking great so far! I'm especially interested as it looks like you have the same light/hood I do. First time I'm using this new setup, so don't know what to expect. Anything's better than what I was getting with my previous lights. Just curious, I don't see how long you vegged your plants. They look pretty small, and you expect to get 1.5 oz per plant? I vegged mine for four weeks and they were considerably larger when I flipped to 12/12 (see my thread in this forum). I was planning on jumping for joy (maybe literally) if I averaged 1 oz per plant. If your estimate is realistic (it looks like you know what you're doing), it makes me even more optimistic for my yield. I might just end up with my head through the ceiling!
Thanks Stay tuned and we will find out ! I don't really know what im doing, haha. Lights, soil, and good airflow. This is just add water for the most part ! They were only about 3 weeks old when i flipped them, about 8 inches tall. The thing is they did not stretch hardly any. I was anticipating a 3x stretch like i encountered with my last grow using only CFL's. This was not the case with HID, and i see now that i need to veg an extra week. It's all good. Im hoping the 5 gallons of soil and extra watt's help me out this time. I did pull 1 oz per last grow with only CFLs and 1 gallon pots, 95f temps and stale air. Looking back im suprised i got what i did. Today i added more lights. 4 x 4ft T8's. 32w x 4 in 5000k spectrum for vertical side lighting. Hope it helps. :bong-2:
