Didn't mean to write so much...

Whoa, man. Thanks for crediting me with an extra ounce.

Truth is I've yet to yield 4oz off of 1 plant. When I've locked in with timing and accuracy of nutes, accurate ph, flush, lighting etc., all at the same time, then I get a Master Kush plant that yields about 3 dry ounces.

I have a lot of personal stash built up, and I don't sell it, so I can afford let my plants grow for a long time. It's not unusual for me to have a plant in veg for 6 weeks, so they are pretty big (3-3.5 ft tall) by the time I put them in flowering. Usually the bigger the plant the bigger the yield. Once they hit flowering, as you know, they grow and additional foot or more. I also flower my plants for about 9 or 10 weeks and then do a 2 week flush. So my plants are in flowering sometimes for up to 12 weeks. Over the last few weeks the buds don't get any bigger, instead they get tighter. I have a plant in flower right now on week 4 nutes (Useless formula), and is 4.5 feet tall. I am kinda excited about this one b/c I think it could be my first QP yielder. It's done growing and is bud-building now. After I harvest it, I'll post a pic of the size of it's stalk base.

I think a lot of growers veg and flower their plants over a much shorter period of time than I do. Therefore they may get less yield per plant.

Aside from my lighting upgrades (400mh veg. 400&600hps in flower tent), going DWC has sent my plants' size, yield and quality through the roof. I'd usually get 1-1.5 oz off of soil and hempy plants. I started in soil, but DWC has spun my head around. I started DWC about a year ago and I am really just now getting a real feel for it. I veg in 3 gallon buckets and when I move them to the flowering tent I put them in 5 gallon buckets and let the roots just fill it up. I've also been growing and cloning this same Master Kush strain for over a year and I know it inside and out. I know it's behavior, therefore I can predict it's behavior, and I know how it will respond to various adjustments. Being able to predict the plant's behavior allows me to make very exact and specific adjustments ......exactly how much nutes it can handle, when to back off the nutes, when to give it a mid-grow flush of plain water for a week or 2.....how much Ph down to add.etc etc etc. I have a perpetual grow going. I'm vegging, cloning and flowering all year long. After a solid year of continuously working with just this one plant further allows me to catch problems early, when they are most correctable.

I am taking clones this weekend from the Alaska Thunderfuck strain I have and it's gonna be a learning process all over again with this new plant. I traded a rooted MK clone for a rooted clone of the AT. This also has vegged out for weeks. It's a couple feet tall.

Holy hell! I did not mean for this post to be so long.:icon_confused: It's just that I've had my first doob of the day and I'm baked and just got rambling about stuff you prolly already know about. I just got in a mode where I felt like I was just talking with somebody and shooting the shit about growing.

Anyway, all those things factor in to my yields.

yup, I've been gettin the same off my M.K. with dwc but i veg till they are about a foot tall in a 2x2 flood and drain set up, take some clones and then put 'em in a net pot lid for a 5gl bucket to flower for 10 weeks, well now some are goin in the pvc. I started off with dwc I did set up one flood and drain for flower one time thats when i went out of town and the res dried up and they never quite recovered. I have thought about trying that again those plants were almost 4 foot tall when that happend. hell i thought about doin one big grow and just fillin up my 8x6 flower room with monster plants wall to wall and puttin the res outside the room. thats the only bad thing about it, there is so many options. and too much time to think about 'em between harvest

Exactly. Paralysis by analysis. Hell, even CC can't make up his mind right now. I figure ya just find the method/way that's right for you and stick with it consistently. That way you'll get super good at it. I could switch back to soil if I had to and do fine with it, but I prefer to do one thing and do it really well. That's why after going through like 10 strains/breeds I decided to focus on just one and carefully learn it and grow it well. Once I get that strain(in my case the MK) ingrained in my head, then I'll start another one. By knowing the MK so well, I can focus most of my attention on learning this next strain. I've been able to continue to isolate stronger clones from the weaker ones, then continue cloning off the strongest ones. I've heard the more you clone a plant the weaker it's potency gets. I haven't experienced that. I actually feel like I'm getting stronger plants.

Are you having yield probs? Are you looking to switch to a different set-up? It kinda sounds like our MKs turn out similarly in DWC. Are you trying to move away from DWC? I know nothing at all about ebb-n-flow. The only things that I can understand/comprehend are: growing in soil, simple bubble-bucket DWC, aeroponics(sort of). I cant wrap my mid around some of the stuff you guys can do with things like RDWC, big ressy mgmt, this PVC pipe set up, ebb-n-flow, undercurrent. Hell, I don't even really understand hempy. I tried it for a while but evidently I was not doing something properly and the yield and quality were way worse that what I'd been getting using soil.

scotty i was thinkin of ccrete when i said the 4oz per plant thing.

no not trying to move away from dwc, just tryin to find the easiest least amount of maintenance way for ME to grow, I have worked my through well water ph, heat issues, abnormal freezing temps, rats and ants. I had to shut it all down once for about 4 months and lost some good strains in the process. using useless' formula i just figured out after all this time with the dwc plant in the pic that maybe i should have been changing the 2-1/2 to 3gl. of nutes 2 times a week instead of once, that is the healthiest plant I have grown I mean not one spot on any leaf the whole time. which makes me want to stick with that method now... damn it...:BangHead::roffl::bduh: this shit'll make ya crazy! but hey in the end were smokin our own shit while not supporting the drug cartells in mexico which is :coool:

if i am having yield probs i'm not too worried about 'em yet, I need to buy new lights and completely tear down my set up and rebuild it from the floor joist up. when i get propper lighting set ups/ventalation co2 and all that good shit... then I'm gonna be upset about yield. I have gotten 2 oz off 1 plant my first go round. damn I just looked at my join date to see when i started growing. 4 years. damn I should be way further along by now

I pulled 11 off 1 Bubba Kush plant and 10.5 off another, it was a 2 tree grow under a 1k in RDWC in a 4.5 X 4.5ft room.....so far for me thats the number to beat

gonna scrap the pvc... only 2 of 6 plants did good in the damn thing. 2 would not drop roots, and two just never really seemed to get it together. the other two did good, just not as much growth as the plants in the buckets.

so now its back to the bucket and or tub system. Ive thought about dirt but thats just changing and starting completely over. I got about 4 years of trial and error with the dwc, rdwc and hempy. the 3 gl. bucket with hydroton in the 5gl. bucket with the nutes was the simplest way i tried and thats probly what i'm gonna go with, and stick with that for a while. there is just so many options out there. every time i start :read2: I'm all:idea: and then usally turns into :5eek::BangHead:
