Supposed to be gran daddy purple. But since we aren't positive we just called it pixie dust. Smells just like skittles.

Mouthwateringly frosty. Those color variations give a real nice bag appeal too.

Couple pics. Stuff jarred up from the last stuff I showed I chopped. Ended up being almost 5oz (4.8oz) just off those couple. Out of the plants moved from the 2x4 into the 4x4 I yieled 21.6oz total, and the last one is still hanging but shouldn't be much more than an oz if at all. Though kinda hard to tell things have gotten more dense with the addition of the CXAs. not sure if because of the type of light, the quality, or just the fact that I basically doubled my light. I'm thinking the latter.

One thing I notice is that I tend to remove much more lower growth and you are doing..

I let a couple runs go with more undergrowth and my bud size suffered, my overall yields were lower and I had much more hash trimming crap.

I have gone back to stripping all but the top leaves as I put them into Flower - by one week in - tons of new upper growth.

I tried to send you a PM but it said you are unable to accept...so I am copying and pasting my message...

Hey buddy. I took a quick peek at your grow with the LED's. Loved it. My main issues with growing (after doing it for 7 years ) are heat, heat, and risk of fire (heat). So I am naturally gravitating towards LED.

Now...I know a light gives off heat. But it's my understanding that heat is cut by like 75%...especially with a proper ventilation system. I usually ran (when I grew..now I have a boy) two 600W lights...and while in the wintertime that was okay...it's basically impossibly to do when the heat outside is 80 degrees...even if I keep my house temps down.

So this seems to me...to be a godsend. But with all good things...like my dad always says...if it's too good to be true...it probably is. So I'd like a little feedback. I may be selling all my goods/lights/etc and investing in some good LES lights to last me the next ten years of growing (when I decide to start back up that is)

Hmmm That's odd maybe my inbox is full or something... LOL Anyways, I was skeptical at first as well. After all, HPS/MH/CMH are all tried and true. I had to do a lot of leg work to try and make heads and tails of it. A lot of BS floating around out there. Lots of companies that claim certain wattage when really that's not the actual wattage or using no name diodes or just horrible at reliability(i.e. HTG leds, VIPAR, TOPLED, anything resembling an APOLLO). I love my A51's and they are great, my DIY cob setup is still working like a champ no problems. The A51's both had secondary lenses over the LEDs which just directs the light more so less overall spread and foot print. My DIY has no lenses or reflectors it just throws light out. The thing that gets the hottest with LEDs is the drivers. If I re-did the current DIY I would make the drivers remote so i could place them outside of the area. Similar to what rapid LED did with the ONYX lights DXE is using. Though even with that heat rises. It's crazy I can have a 84-86* reading above the lights but below the lights about 8-10* temp difference. I have been getting good yields. Even with minimal effort. I've yet to get less than .95 g/W typically 1g/w and over. Last run totaled in at a little under 1.8lbs with these lights(~1.25g/w). So far on this round I have pulled 12ozs and the plants you see in the pics above are still in the tent. The ones cut piled up were about 6oz and already cut at the time of those pics, though you can't tell in the pic that the pile is about half way up the height of that 5gal bucket next to them. So with the 12oz I've already pulled and looking like about another 8 I should be a little under last time but I got so tied up with the family and the holidays and everything else I basically threw plants in and tried to just remember to feed them when they needed it. Which is why I'm decreasing. I'm about to phase down for a trip in March and what's in the tent will probably be all that's going to be until the second week of March. Then I should have some nice trained little girls to put in there.

So aside from the rambling. If you aren't worried about a warranty then before you sell all your stuff off you might consider just building you a DIY fixture if you can. About the cheapest. If you want a warranty and a good product you have Area 51 (www.a51led.com), ONYX (www.rapidled.com), and apache tech. Those 3 will tell you everything their lights consist of, no hidden junk. California light works can work but I feel they're over priced, same with lumigrow but they seem to work. No apache tech or CLW users on here that I'm aware of but a couple guys with A51, Onyx, and lumigrows on here. If I was going to buy another prefab light it would definitely be either an A51 or ONYX. Next to DIY they seem to be the best bang for the buck.

You've seen my stuff, and I'm sure you've seen DXE's. But you might talk with him if you haven't already also. Maybe give BigBud214 a shout and see what he's been brewing with his A51s. Then I can't remember if it was friendly farmer or creative gardener that got some Onyx also. Might shout them a PM as well.

HEY, I use Lumigrow not Onyx. :roffl: But they each work great!!! You def have to shop around for a decent price 'cause most places will stick you pretty hard. I managed to find my 325s for $599 which is several hundred less than most places offer.

How often/if ever do you replace the lights?

Supposed to be every 5-10 years with the better quality lights. Had my XGS for about a year and no issues. I've been measuring light PAR readings off and on over some time and have not seen any diminishing. My buddy that was using HTG supply LED lights was replacing them all the time. They were covered under warranty and they honored it but it was pretty often. Think they just didn't arrange the different LEDs right because it was always the same type of LEDs that would burn out the board and almost in the same spots. The HTG ones he used were the ones in the black housings with the 7 spectrum monochromatic LEDS. My XGS is almost a neutral white at 3750K, the DIY is 3000K, and the RW-150 has I think 5500K whites and 630nm reds. I'd stick with all white or white and red fixtures. The white light will contain enough of the other spectrums.

Couple of update pics. The last two headbands will be coming down here pretty soon. Like, tonight or tomorrow night. Everything else in full swing. Got a couple pics at the end of the Dabney Sweet tooth cross lone survivor. It is short and STOUT! I mean seriously the plant is like one solid huge nug. Almost equivalent to some type of caveman club. LOL
