Not all of the phenos did this, so I am sure there would be stuff in here that could be run. It would be a matter of selecting phenos before putting them into a commercial garden.
Problem is for guys like me, with one or two common flower gardens, is that one miss while sorting phenos screws up too many other plants. Occasional herms is why I won't run any more Toxic Marie to finish sorting phenos. Miss one pollen sac and I stand to lose a pile of plants to seeds. Love the toke and it's a spacey as fuck stone, but the risk prevents further work. I still keep a decent male and a few phenos that look promising thinking one day I'll get them a private room and finish up.....some day.
They are still cloudy to white in the trichs, so the goal of next round is going to be seeing if I can get them to finish faster. I barely fed them, so there is a possibility that the fresh soil had too much Nitrogen in it for this specific strain when I put the girls into flower.
Update* I am taking them down today because the stems can't support how large the colas are. There will be a few tweaks for the next round.
that sounds like a good problem lol that's one reason i love gro thru cages, even if you don't scrog, they help support the plants about a foot up so you can move things around without breaking branches
It's definitely going to be a good commercial strain once I get things dialed in and selected. If I can get the finishing period down a week, I won't have to worry about late flower nanners, either.
try adding some silica in the soil for the next grow. it does help strengthen stalks I use to run it just in hot rooms to help with heat stress, but found it's great to use in any grow.
I'm pretty sure "The Kraken" from Nectar is the one that I want to use more of next time. I went easy on all the nutes this round, but it looks like I will need to use a bit more of some of the bottles. Kraken makes the stalks as hard as wood, which is one of the reasons I didn't use it as much this round. I wanted to get clones off of the plants, and Kraken makes cloning difficult.
I said at the beginning of flower that I might breed with it, before I knew about the late flower nanners. I haven't said anything about breeding with it recently... The selection I would be making is one for growing, not breeding now.
Round 2 of flowering has been going on for a couple weeks for Mendo Purps X Snow Lotus. We are done with stretch and putting on some trichomes now. The second photo is starting to go Purple in tint already, so it's looking like it's going to be a better round. I still need to do a light defoliation, too.
Today's update is a night and day difference from the last round! Holy shit! The other photos won't load, so here's the budporn shot!
Any of these 600s you guys are tossing to the wind could end up on my porch...I wouldn't mind Nice lookin ladies disco
Low Nitrogen through flower with added Guano this round. Still using Nectar for the Gods, but I may switch back to Coots or a new mix I've been eyeing. The latest pic is one of the keepers, though.
