I dont think that bud will make 2 weeks. Dead bud leaves like that will cause bud rot unless you have really good air circulation. A good check for mold is to pull on the remaining bud leaves. If they slip out you have early onset of bud rot. If that happens just chop the bud asap.
Ok I have great air circulation and the bud looks healthy to me. Beaming with crystals and sexy white hairs, all ecept for that one spot. Still smells and feels super sticky icky whenever I touch it and give it a lil squeeze.
Ah. OK. I just went down and tugged...they come out, but not "easy". It did take a tug...Crap. You think I should move it away from the others? I mean...is it contagious? I do have a fan blowing over the canopy...? Also, it's those small, oval shaped leaves, not the bud itself...I think... CRAP. I swear to god, I could screw up a steel ball. Ok, wait a minute... I just went down and pulkled off a yellow leaf and looked at it with the Eyeclops. Man,. it is weird. It LOOKS burned...it's got NO trichs AT ALL on it. Not even around the edges. The surrounding leaves that are NOT yellow look fine--loaded with trichs, all cloudy a few amber. But the yellow ones...are like, burned off. I mean, as if the tricks were burned off or dried up and shrunk away to not being able to see them at all. WTF??? Also, the very TIP of the bud is totally DRIED OUT. It crumbled to dust in my fingers. It's gotta be...light burn...dont it? Except, if it was light burn, why would the whole plant be affected...no, it would just be the tops. OK, Im stumped. Im gonna at least separarte it from the others, just in case it's contagious. Then watch it for a few days to see if it gets worse or stays the same. OK--I went and plucked off all the yellow leaves and took a pic of it after they were removed. It looks pretty OK now, doesnt it?
The yellow crispy leaves are due to N def, due to you removing all the fans. The plant has no stores left, you removed them. These dead yellow leave retreat into the bud. Inside the bud its warm and moist, add the dead leaf material and mold runs riot. If you catch the yellowing before it gets into the bud you can hold off the mold, but eventually the leaf inside the bud will yellow and die. If you tugged on a leaf and it had resistance, you dont have mold yet. If it was molding inside it would slip out very easily. Just check it every day and the second one slips out cut the bud in half and you'll see the start of the mold where the leaf slipped out. Scrap that shit out and it should dry fine.
Roger that. I put a little bud under the Eyeclops after I plucked off the yellow and there are plenty of trichs....so it will be good smoke IF it doesnt go to Mold City, right? Evil is right Dixie. (Laughs and aims S&W .500 magnum at JJB... you brought a knife to a gun fight? :roffl: ) What JJB describes is light burn. Those flowers are so dried out there will be no chance for mold to grow from his dead leaf matter. JJB's best option is to just the plant finish, and lop that burned bud off when manicuring. Yours on the other hand, are clearly NOT light burn. If it were light burn, the buds would be crispy and brown, not healthy green. It's just your leafs, indicating what I described in my previous post. Now that you've trimmed them all up...well good luck, but I think the final product will be a bit harsh. Because there is now no leaf to process food, the starches will not be able to convert to carbs (sugars). Not like you really had much choice though. Just give em plain water for a couple weeks is best you can do now.
Well, since ya put it THAT way! Ok, I get it. YES I AM an idiot. I ride to school in the short bus. Do you think I should trans it to a bigger container? This late into flowering? I could do that, but I feared moving it might cause MORE shock...? Another option would be to leave it alone and just harvest it in a week. It is covered with milky trichs with two or three amber, already. The first two times I grew Juicy Fruit, I harvested at the end of eight weeks. This time I was planning on going nine, just to add a little "stone" to the Sat.HIGH, but Id have no problems cutting it at the end of eight weeks. BTW, since I pucked off all the yellow leaves, it looks pretty happy. Dixie
