dome tents Most dome tents have a little cover over the top that's how the plastic is supposed to be installed just enough to cover the canopy of the plant the sides are supposed to be open at least 3 quarters of the plant it's only supposed to keep the rain from dripping on the plants give might even want to uncover next time the suns out i can stand under mine walk right on the edge there about 5 feet of open air all around the sides sorry about your budd mold but thats part of out door growing the best thing you can do this preventative maintenance way ahead of time maybe some bacillus subtillus or an oil with some baking soda like neem or cotton seed the soda will raise the surface PH and deter fungal growth and the oils coat the surface also repelling fungal attacks
CanadianDan - Ok I gotcha, thanks for spreading your knowledge. I dont think it has spread any lately because its been super hot here 100deg+. I didnt get to chop last night because it was too hot and I had drank 6 beers and smoked 3 joints :beerchug-2:asssit:. It was stupid hot so I needed to drink beer to stay cool. Today is another 100+ day So I'm not sure if I'll make the chop tonite but we"ll see. Maybe I might take my chances and cut that top off, havnt decided 100% yet. Could I cut that whole cola off and let the rest flower, or will it take even longer to finish because it has to repair itself? Gizmo_Barks - That oxidate stuff looks awesome. I think I'm gonna have to get some for next year. Mt.King & Gizmo_Barks - I never got a chance to cover them and it never ended up raining but it did drop a lot of moisture due to fog/overcast. I think thats what caused this mold issue. After those 2 days of dew, it warmed up like crazy onto 90's then 100's and it has seemed to put the mold to a halt, so I hope. Thank You Mt.King for that neem n soda deal. Gonna have to try that sometime during veg if I get problems. I have never been a fan of treatments during flowering. Taking more pics today when I get off work. Still undecisive about chopping down, cuting mold off and let it go longer or cutting cola off and let it go longer. Thank You so much for the advise so far guys, I do appreciate the help. Keep sharing the knowledge, spread the love of skunky green happiness :alienwink:.
You need to get the mold off. That bud is toast. Please don't smoke that shit. Neem will help, but it will leave a residue. Some people say it makes the buds taste bad. The heat will slow the mold process, but if it's in the buds, you should clean it off, so it doesn't spread. peace. G_B
Yeah i would say chop that cola off. It wont matter about whether the plant needs to repair itself, harvest is due anytime now. In fact the stress of chopping off that top might induce stress to the plant causing more resin production. I dont know... anyways im jealous youre growing pruple kush. a buddy of mine around here always has the PK for sale and im juts dying to find some seeds in it one time. cheers :beerchug-2: :beerchug-2:
G_B - You think I would smoke that asssit: NO! I wouldnt do that haha. Im not gonna lie though, the thought did come come across my mind once. The mold was pretty bad when I chopped that cola of to check it. As soon as I bent the cola to see inside, it was obvious. I decided to chop the lady down. CanadianDan - Right. I chopped that one cola off and it was pretty bad so I decided to chop her down. I had no choice. I lost about a quarter to an eight short of a half zip on it. O well. I dont know if she is a good outdoor candidate. She wasnt the purple pheno either I think because ther was no sign of purpling other than the mold :roffl: . Im sure you'll come across a seed or clone. I wish you the best for a "purple" PK :beerchug-2: ! Isnt purple kush suppose to turn purple/red on it's own? :alien11:
Nice group. Yeah you can clearly see the mold top in that picture. The rest look fine from what i can see.. But if you spot some more of those top smaller leaves going all wilted and brown, you got mold again. As for the plant going purple I dont know... ive had a plant before that went purple from the colder temps. Not so much the bud itself, but the leaves....i think it was blueberry. Does that go purple? I dont know... lol That was the best shit ive grown to date. This stuff was fruity/sticky/dense. (not tryin to jack your thread, just showing ya a pic of it) :flyy:
CanadianDan - Tha mold was some BS for sure. I lost all the tops besides 2 and they were the smaller colas. All the other colas looked fine until I checked the inside. The mold was obvious. I think this happened because she was the smallest in height. So the air movement wasnt good enough. Oh well, ill try again next year. More pics of the others will be posted soon. As they come down I will post pics.
