It should be a landrace. A friend sent me some seeds from weed she smoked near Chiang Mai in the Mae Sa valley. So my hope/guess is that it is a highland. I haven't got a new garden location squared away yet so it will be awhile until I know for sure. From what I've been reading it looks like it could be a 13+ week flower. That true?
Nuggster - It is called Thai, because it is from Thailand. It has nothing to do with packaging. Res. - Well, you can't count on a true landrace, a lot of dutch strains have been incorporated into the landraces there. However, that said, there are still farmers who have been working a strain for 30+ years. My landrace thai is from Ko CHang Island, direct from the farmer. It will be interesting if we compare the two different strains. Yours is from the northern part of the country. Mine is from the Southwest. Watch for herms! It is really hard to find a true breeding female in thai seeds. Yea, you can expect anywhere from 12-20 weeks of flower time, with about 16 weeks being the average. The OG eats a shit ton of N and Mg., especially during transition. Bubba can eat a bunch, but doesnt necesarilly need it. It just makes the leafs look black(er).

That ICMag thread on Thai hermaphrodism is great. Thanks Useless. Lots of specific hands on talk about the Chiang Mai Thai. RC seems to think that the whole "Dutch" influence is overblown....hope he's right. I never maintained any hope (or enough time/talent) of sustaining a true breeding non-herm Thai female or line. If it evades the big dogs in cannabis breeding I'm not going to waste my time. The intent is simply to cull herms and run a seed batch letting the cards fall as they will so I could have some excess seeds whenever I felt like putting them in a garden. No breeding here, just simple pollen chucking. I haven't toked a thai strain since around 1979 or '80 so its more a nostalgic thing for me. Add in that there is the possibility of holding a landrace strain....well.....it just seems the right thing to do. Looking forward to your results and taking notes on the Koh Chang. cheers,

Some of the Thai-line. Really peppery and earthy smell now. This is the top 1/2 of the plant. She was about 3.5 ft. tall. Early sample bud tasted of rich earth, a great flavor. High was all in the head, very cerebral. A focusing, introspective kind of high, not a paranoid speedy one. BTW, there is some old, two faced ass :roffl: on here who likes to use booze bottles for a size comparison. Sombud, I see your crappy vodka and raise you a crappy scotch! :beerchug-2:
