Lol wow... I gotta get me some orca film (pretty low priority, but still on the wish list) and eventually some whisperline fans. Probably won't purchase either, though, til after getting a centralized climate control, and CO2 set up.

After seeing Link's grow log where he talks about his Blueberry plant stretching, I'm starting to think that most of the pain in the ass stretch I've been dealing with is attributable to the strain. I'm very curious to see how your Jackberry behaves, Duc.

Keep us updated. Exciting time for you now!!

Without a doubt the JB seedlings are stretching faster than both the Lemon Thai and the Herijuana. The Herijuana seedlings broke through the soil quicker but are shorter and more stocky looking thn the Jackberry's. The Lemon Thai looks to be somewhere in between. I doubt any of this means a damn thing considering how young the little guys are.

The little fella's are coming along at their own pace. The jackberry that I planted straight in spoil (skipping the jiffy pot) is really taking off. The other 5 seedlings are still in tents. I'm actually getting a bit concerned that the fact that they're about 2 weeks behind the others will cause a problem come sexing time. Since I'm not doing clones ( no seperate veg room) I'll have to sex all the plants at the same time.

All of the plants that sprouted 15 days ago now have roots showing at the bottom of the pots. I suspect that the Jackberry will be showing her (wishful thinking) roots in another 5 days or so.

Lemon Thai 20 days after sprouting. This is the same plant as show in the last pic in the previous post, 5 days later. I've been keeping the night time temps very close to the lights on temp in an effort to keep them as short as possible. As of a couple of days ago I started to allow the night time temps to drop a bit more.

This pic make me sing " I'm a little tea pot short & stout" in my head :5eek:

Lookin good Duc! I think we can conclude at this point that the JBs somehow inherited the sativa tendency to be tall lanky little fuckers. Mine stretched, yours stretched, and the more pictures of JB I look at they all tend to be tall and leggy. And if you had CFLs right down near them, not 2' away like my lights were, I'd say it's a solid conclusion that JBs are just stretchy plants.

Beautiful root masses on those suckers! You know what the flowering time is on the Herijuanas? I was thinking of running that or Lemonberry from Sannies for my next grow, but I don't want something that takes 10 weeks to flower.

Another week has gone by & I'm happy to report that all the plants are doing well, nice and healthy. There's one runt of the litter that I'm keeping around in hopes it's a late bloomer.

I read about Jogging in the FAQ & decided to give it a try on one of the Lemon Thai's. So far the only problem I've had is the plant desire to grow vertical is stronger than my stakes desire to hold it in place.. It takes three stakes to hold it in place. Once the main stem has grown all the way around the pot & starts to go vertical, should I top it? why not right..

I'll be sexing the plants next week, updates to follow

You are just trying the jogging for a fun experiment? Your grow space isn't vertically challenged, or anything?

    Nice!

Very beautiful, short internodes and tight branching on those delightful babies. How are you planning to sex? Rooting some cuttings under 12 / 12?

Yeah Hank, I'm only Jogging one of the plants as an experiment & for my own enjoyment. I'm really looking forward to seeing how many colas I can get to shoot up from the horizontal stalk.

Here's a pic taken this morning of another Lemon Thai that I've only topped. All the plants I'm growing this round are seem to be nice an compact. Early on I was having problems with low humidity (28-30%) so maybe that had something to do with it. With a humidifier running full time 50% humidity is the best I can maintain with everything running.

And one of the Jackberry after being topped. Anyone see anything wrong?

OG, since I don't have a seperate vegging room I've no choice but to throw the whole group under 12/12 for sexing. If I end up with at least 4 girls I'll re-pot and keep them in 12/12. If on the other hand I wind up with only 2-3 girls, then I'll re-pot & veg for another couple of weeks. I"m either going to grow a couple of trees or a 1/2 dozen shrubs. :roffl:

You're going to like the Lemon Thai. Very stable, easy to grow, incredibly tolerant plant.

No doubt Rez, the Lemon Thai's are the strongest looking of the lot with Herijuana close on it's heals. Both strains are branchy as hell with nice thick stalks that will be able to support the heavy load that's to come. If they continue their rate of growth I'm gonna have to make the switch for sexing early next week. It looks like I'll be re-potting after the flip. There's nothing wrong with doing that is there?

Hey duce, Let me give you a couple of tips about jogging the plant. I normally vegged a couple weeks longer when jogging. It gives the plant time to completly circle the pot. You may need to do some pruning a little before you flip the switch to 12/12. I always got alot of bud of my plants when jogging them. I'll be keeping an eye on this grow. :coool:

I'm definitely pretty excited to see how your ladies turn out Duc. Can't decide which strain I'm going with for next grow, but there's a high chance it may be a lemonberry or herijuana so we can compare again!

Both LT phenos in my garden have heavy duty rugged woody stems that dare you to grow big enough buds to make them tumble. Popped one into flower today and counted like 20 some full on canopy bud sites. WooHOOO!

Repot to final pot size at least a week before the switch with the LT. Alot of Thai based strains can run long so I'll repot right before or during 12/12 but the LT is a different cat in that area since it's flower time is short when compared to most Thai strains. The plants I repotted then went straight to 12/12 never fully developed a root structure to use the entire pot.

The problem I have, is that there is only enough space for 5 plants in the larger 12" pots & I have 9 plants going (inlcuding 1 runt). I'm considering re-vegging them after sexing. That way I could veg them for a few weeks in the their final pots. Would you consider the strain to be stable enough to handle flip flopping like that without going hermi? I know it's a risk. If I end up with 6 or more girls I could manage 10" pots, so that's another option.

Damn I can't wait to start flowering these bitches.. You got the jump on me OG:bravo:

Another week plus a few days has gone by since my last update.Tuesday morning I noticed a few of lower leaves on several plants were starting so show a bit if yellowing. That night after work I started brewing some compost tea using a pinch of blood meal, tbsp of molasses, a tsp of epsom salt, & a dash of dolomite lime. I also placed a hand full of soil in a sock & let the whole thing bubble (only mixed one gallon)overnight. Wednesday after work I cut the tea 50/50 with water & fed. I really should've mixed two gallons.. I for got that I also added about 1/4 cup of worm castings in the tea as well.

Anyway the plants responded by showing good growth & perked up nicely. Unlike my last grow where I used chemical ferts I didn't burn my plants.

My problem now is that I think they may be getting a bit root bound. They're wanting to be watered just about every day & I don't have the space for that many large pots. I think I'm going to start sexing over the weekend so I can thin the herd sooner rather than later.

Up first is the Lemmon Thai. From the looks of them I'd say they could use another feeding soon. They're a lot more bushy than the Herijuana plants.

    I'm liking the Lemmon Thai.

Again, these pics are one day after feeding.

Next is the Lemmon Thai that I've been Jogging. She's (wishful thinking I know) made it almost all the way around the pot. The main stem is about 1/2" thick. BTW all the plants have really stout looking stems.

Here's the one and only Jackberry F3 that made out of sprouthood.

The Herijuana plants have their own special look. They're very branchy and very very sturdy looking. Considering how short for space I am I'd be happy with one Herijuana girl. The runt of the litter is in front. I had almost given up it as it was so slooooow to sprout. with my luck that the girl :glasses2:

Last up is a group shot. The temp and humidity are that low because I've had the door open for so long watering and taking pics. Generaly the lights on temp is 78 deg with 50% humidity. 50% is all I can muster with one small humidifier. I had just shut down the HPS for the pic buy you can still see it glowing a bit.

Man that ORCA film is some wicked good shit. look how bright the room is with just the light entering from the doorway. I love it!
