Thanks for stopping by and leaving the feedback. While I'm enjoying the shit out this grow I think I would've done myself a favor by sticking to one strain at a time. This grow would've benefitted, IMO if I had made a different soil mix for each strain. The Lemmon Thai's for instance look as though they could've used more blood meal or maybe some Bat Guano to up the N a bit.

I think the Jackberry's would've done a lot better had I waited to start them until the end of this coming Summer. For whatever reason they just weren't as hearty as the others. My Rookie guess is that they just didn't handle the low humidity as well as the others.

    Cheers :passsit:

    Girls, Girls, Girls

Well hot DAMN, 4 out of 4 of the Lemon Thai, the sole Jackberry & at least 2 of the 4 Herijuana plants are Female. The other two Herijuana plants should be showing their sex by the time I get home from work this evening. The Herijuana's seem to be a bit slower to show then the others were. A bit thumbs up for Sannies gear:thumbsup:

I'm going to have to cull the herd just to make room for the bigger pots this weekend. I decided to pull each plant out of it's pot to see which ones had the best root system. Well shit, all buy one or two are jam packed with a nice white root mass. Before putting the root ball back in the posts I tossed in a handfull of worm casting in the pot. I'm not sure why I felt the need to do this but I suspect toking up while gardening had something to do with it. They're only goning to be in those pots for a few more days & I'm interested in how fast the roots will move into the new soil.

It's going to be a tough call but I think the final cut will be (1) Jackberry,(3) Lemon Thai, & (2) Herijuana plants with maybe a third Herijuana in a smaller pot as a corner filler.

This weekend I'll transplant the to their final pots & flip the lights back to 18/6 for another few weeks. I'd like them to be around 18" tall before flipping to 12/12.

Pics when there's something to see. Oh, the Lemon Thai that I'm Jogging is going to be one awesome loong plant. :smokin:

    OK since you ask.

I've treated the N def. 3 days ago with a feeding of worm casting compost tea with a little bit of molasses. the three plants up fron are ther Herijuana's who still haven't shown their sex yet. Today is only 7 days since the flip for sexing so I guess the others were just quick to show. All but the Herijuana's were transplanted to larger pots yesterday.

also these pics were taken just after the lights came on so they're still a bit sleepy looking

I'm going back to 18/6 for at least 3 weeks as soon as the Herijuana's show thier sex.

To tell the truth I really wish I didn't have so many females. I had planned for fewer plants in larger pots than what I'm now doing.

Next round I'm make sure I have a veg cabinet built for sexing clones. Already know the way I'm doing it isn't the prefered method.

    cheers

Well fuck me dead! Every last one of the Herijuana plants have shown me their cock-n-balls. I'm sure it's due to my lack of a humidifier and a better handle on enviromental conditions early on. The flip side is that I'll have room to let the others spread out a bit.

I'm really disappointed in myself for not having my shit together as much as I thought I had. I'll make up for it next time though:thumbs-up:

Don't worry 'bout it. Send your heri pollen to me, I'll put it to good use.

I'm hoping for a few males out of mine to make seeds, but hopefully not too many.

Ha, well Duc you got a partner in rookie crime here :p I had to cull quite a few males as well cuz I didn't have my clone cab built in time, and I think I ended up with more males than females. So you did much better cuz you have lotsa females so don't feel bad!

I wonder, is low humidity seriously enough of a stress to cause would-be-females to turn out male? You have a few you suspect. I had a bunch turn up male, but I even had a male pop up late a week into flowering, and it coincided with grow room humidity dropping from 60 to 30%. Hhmmm.. guess we'll never know ^^

Thanks go to Ognenny for helping though a MG/CA imbalance caused by me adding too much bone meal to my tea mixture. The plants 3 days ago the plants were fed and epsome salt / molasses tea & have responded well. I've got a lot to learn about organics before I'll be getting rid of my training wheels. Thanks again OG!

Here's the Jogged Lemon Thai before the feeding 3 days ago.

    and after

The Jackberry was also showing signs of what looks like Nitrogen toxicity. Not only did I have too much bone meal in the "evil tea" but I threw in some worm castings bat guano too. Lots of Nitrogen, lots of Calcium but not enough magnesium??

    Thanks for stoping by:wink:

Gonna pull some good bud off of those. :good job:

Not surprised the LT was the least affected. That plant just grows no matter what. I'd recommend it to any new grower. Can see where you've had nitrogen problems with the JB. Don't know what I'd do...probably go to plain h2O and molasses for awhile until the plant gets better or asks for something else I guess.

Yeah Res I didn't know if it was a good idea to recommend a flush to him, what with he being a soil food web grower as well. I thought I'd let you advise him on flushing.

I thought the molasses would take care of excess nitrogen, by feeding microbes to immobilize it.

In any case those ladies look goooooooorgeous! You're really making me wanna order up some LT or Lemonberry beans man heh. But I think I'm leaning toward Seline or Kolossus for the yield factor. Anyway can't wait to see you flower them!!

How to prune a Jogged plant

MrGreenjeans suggested that a little pruning would be in order on the Jogged Lemon Thai before I flip the switch. I could use a few tip on what to trim and what to leave alone. At the moment she's in a 10" pot but I'm going to repot tomorrow evening. I'm tinking it would be best to prune what, a week after repotting?

Here's a fresh pick from news chopper one.

How tall is the plant? Remember the plant can double in height during the flowering period. I remove any small undergrowth that does not get alot of light and wont amount to anything. Lets say most of the tops are about 12 inches high and lets say three of those tops are 20 inches tall. Now lets say the light is light is about two feet above when you start flowering. That means the three taller tops will be in the light, and those are the one's I would prune back.

I prune back to just above the internode that is about the same height as the rest of the tops.

I do any pruning that may need to be done a week before flowering. It gives the plant time to get over any shock.

    Cool man, thanks.

I'm LST-ing the plant as well so it's fucking short man. After a few:redbong::redbong::redbong::redbong::redbong: I decided now would be as good a time as any to repot, so I did. MAN what beautiful roots. Nice and thick with lots of shoots & bright white. :thumbsup:There's some undergrowth to be cut away but not too much.

THe plan is to keep her pinned down & make a mountain of buds :coolbounce:

    thanks again for the help

    4 days until the flip

Here's a better angle on the Jogged LT after repotting that really shows how well she's spread out. I only had room for one large pot & it seemed fitting that the Jogged plant should be the one to have it.

I though this picture really showed the reflective qualities of the Orca Film. The back of the door is also covered with Orca. If you peak in just before the door is completely shut you can see how the plants on the end of the shelf are washed in reflected light.

The only thing I would say to trim off that plant now! is the couple of large fan leaves that look like they are covering up some of the smaller shoots underneat. If you can tuck them out of the way then fine, if not trim off even if it seems :bduh:. :redbong:
