DWC set up question

    I got another newbie question....:roffl:


    Between weekly res changes, when I need to top off the water in the tote, do I use water mixed with the nutes or just put in plan water? I am curious as to how much the plants will drink at different stages and how big the roots will grow at different stages also. I figure I will mark the tote with score lines marking the gallon marks to make it easier to fill.


    Are most of you keeping the water at the bottom of the net pots all the way thru flower?

    I used ph'd water to top off when needed. after the roots dropped down into the water I lowerd the level a lil bit.

    Once the roots reach the water, I always fill to just below the netpot by about 1/4-1/2 inch. I don't remember ever having to "top off". I just let them go the week and change them over. The water does get awful low but I've never run dry. Well not without going more than a week without changing. (sometimes I've gotten busy and couldn't get to them.)


    Hmmm, these aren't 5 gallon buckets we're talking about, is it. Ok, my answer was if you were doing dwc with a bucket.
