HA! yeah that stuffs been getting around. I did one room in panda & tyvek and one room in the reflective bubble insulation as an experiment. I'm interested in learning which one reflects more light back towards the plants and if there's any temperature difference between the two coverings. The difference between them will probably be negligible but what the heck... anyway here they are all trimmed up and moved into room #2. As of NOW the lights are flipped:redbong: note the back light bar with the dead LED cluster, that's the one with the bad driver. back row, left to right we have 3 White Rino & 1 Sour Diesel Center row, left to right 1 Stacked Kush, 3 Dabney Front row, left to right, 2 Confidential cheese, 2 JBxKO kush 1 Dabney One nice thing about the S line fan is that it's body will slip inside of 8" duct insulation, it makes noise but for as much air as it moves it's pretty quitet. Cheers Duc
I was looking though some pictures from my last grow from back in Feb of 2014 and thinking how crowded that shelf was with 4-5 posts pack in like sardines. Now with 4 times the space and just over double the plant count I'm thinking that maybe I'd be better off running 10 plants instead of 12-13. running only 10 would give them the room they'd need to really spread out & soak up the light. I may limit the next round to just 10 and see what yield per plant looks like.. cheers from last year's closet grow, I'll be vegging in that space now!
Lol looks like duck is havin some fun One thing you're gonna need to work out fairly quickly is your mix of strains... The stacked kush is very short while the dabney will stretch quite a bit. The jbko and rhino are mid sized.. It's gonna get interesting in there in a couple weeks Have you thought about a trellis or net to help contain them - stakes are not gonna work out real well with that number of pots
They'll be lots of pinching, stem bending & tying them bitches down this round for sure! It's gonna be a hoot:thumbsup:
:thumbsup:Yup!! Use them in all my pots. Then tie the stakes to the cage making things extra sturdy and spreads things out so light gets to the lower stuff. Really looks great Duc!! Gonna have your hands full here soon:thumbsup:, but that's what you've been waiting for!! Happy as hell for ya man!!! Be Cool, CG
I tried tomato cages and they just dont fit my trimming style - not quite SOG but pretty spread out. An open trellis worked out better for me. I think with Duc's LED bars he is going to find they spread WAY out there too - the cages will be too restricting.
They're just shy of two weeks in and it's time for some serious trimming up before things get too far out of hand. So far I have to say that I'm impressed with the growth rate as well as the health of the plants under the LED's. The temperature is holding steady at 78-79 deg with the exhaust fan running at 25%, no complaints there... a couple of pre trimmed pics... The two on the left are Confidential Cheese & while perfectly health just don't grow as large as the others in the group so I've set them up on pots to keep things looking even. The three smaller pots (1) jbko (2) dabney were leftovers that were living in solo cups before being tossed under the LED's at the flip, fillers really.... There's a total of 13 plants in there this round and honestly I think that's 3 too many. Next round will be limited to 10 with plenty of room to spread themselves out. YIKES they're bald:roffl: Too much?
:thumbsup: So far Nip the lights are performing very well. For sure I'm seeing much more growth then I've ever seen but I'm also using a lot more firepower and an entirely new space so it's hard to really compare. With 1500 watts of LED over 30 sq it isn't exactly apples to apples. That said the girls are budding out more at two weeks then I've seen before, even on my best run the hps falls short of what I'm seeing under the LEDs. The only issue I see is that while each bar has about a 16" wide footprint the cut off on the end of each bar is only about 5-6". This isn't a problem with the bars themselves but it is something that I overlooked when sizing the bars for my space. In hindsight I should've ordered (3) 60" bars instead of the 50's, then id have solid coverage from corner to corner. After this run I'll probably add one 40" bar off the end of the rack set perpendicular to the 3- 50' bars to cover the last 10" of the flower room.
Something to keep in mind if you plan or using these is that they're friggin heavy! Each rack of 3- 50" bars that I'm using weighs close to 70 pounds but the fact is that's it's just the cost of having a super efficient heatsink. Hopefully that will translate into a very long service life. . Personally I'd like to get a solid 5 years out of them before needing to upgrade :redbong: Duc
Just two days after being defoliated and there's new growth & bud sites popping out everywhere. Amazing. A side branch on one of the Dabney's
Duce, your garden is looking amazing! I've been defoliating for years. That's how I managed to get over a pound of a 2 x 4 table. :redbong: I'm really looking forward to watching this entire grow. :bravo:
Thanks BB, Here's a few shot I took last night while tending garden, they're 20 days in to flower. The White Rhino in the back row look to be standing pretty proud don't they. And the cheese up front, not bad for 3 weeks in.
Looks like the cal-mag did the trick! I came home after being away a few days to a nice healthy garden  I was off by a few saying they were just over two weeks in, they're26 days into flower.. the White Rhino in the back row appear to have stopped stretching:thumbsup: cheese
