Got SLIME? I do and it sucks!

PROBLEM FIXED!!!!!!!!!!


I was actually convinced it was nute related from the start but dropped the ball and looked elsewhere.....tried a bunch of differant things but one common point i kept thinking was the 1 jug of GROW that I had just opened when i started seeing the boogerslime, so i had been running the systems with fresh water after doing a PHYSAN and H2o2 flush for a week, then I dropped nutes in (with NO plants)to see what the deal was....got lil slimeboogers within 12 hours..............well I looked into the GROW jug and saw little chunks of weird shit floating all thru the solution, i called the HYDRO shop, told the lady, got a new jug replaced (I also looked at all the jugs, she had 4 good ones and 2 bad ones) any how,so i ran it clean again for another week, got it back to 100% bacteria free.....this time I got a new jug of GROW...and perfecto, no issues no problems....back in the game!


So the issue was a 2.5gallon of INFECTED GH GROW nute, problem solved!

Well, the problem is NOT fixed..............Im not at home but my buddy tells me theres a "GEL" in the system again......theres NO plants, just week 1 of USELESS gh3part running, air stones, pump.....no light either


I dunno what to fucking do, ive changed out my water source......built a CLEAN, new system with NEW parts, ran the physan........ran some h2o2 after that.....ran it clean, then threw in a new batch and fuckin slime again in like 2 weeks


Im guna run this table and see what happenes.....Im seriously getting fucked here, its effecting a ton of things! FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!

 

I think you need to keep using the physan. Try finding a solution strength that doens't foam too much for your system, and use it every res change.

sounds like you need a chiller, check for any light leaks into the rez, more oxygen in the system and to re-clean everything.


Pull all the old solution out, dilute some food-grade h202 or just bleach everything and rinse like crazy.


there is a reason your getting slime, id bet its temps.

 

I use GH and i can guarentee its not the nutes.....

 

CC, did you throw out your old grow nutes? Your buddy didn't use them by mistake, did he? You said you got your new grow nutes from the same place. Could these have been on their way to being bad? Wrong way of storaging? Does he see shit in your grow nutes again? Or just your res?

 

Hello I too use GH-3-part and I have seen the chucks in one of my 2-1/2 gl jugs but it didn't cause any slim. I got the grow replaced. I have had the water company here change there chlorination from chlorine to chlomates or chlromines and that's when my slim problems started. Changed to R/O water filter and the slim is gone. If you are using R/O now I would say the water Temps are high and you need to drop the temp. At low temps the sline doesn't have a chance to get started. Hope you get it sored. Peace

 

I have to mention that Ive ran 3 of these RDWC systems for over 2 years in the SAME EXACT WAY and never had a single issue


The question to me is WHY NOW? besides the few obvious reasons that could possibly cause this slime shit


Im not going to run out and spend 7-1000 bucks on a chiller when the issue hasnt happened before 2 months ago out of the other 26+ months that the 3 separate systems worked to perfection.....also my dissolved oxygen is very plentiful so i doubt thats the issue either


Yes I chucked the old nutes and got all brand new jugs, my buddy only watered my soil plants with strait water, i run foxfarm on them anyhow

 

Have the water temps been the same all this time???? If so that cuts that problem out.

100% absolutly NOTHING has ever changed about what how I ran them systems, thats why this is so puzzling to me, it just came out of nowhere and fucked up my hydro growing world

Even if you yourself havent hanged anything doesnt mean that rules anything out...what logic is that?


All im saying is a chiller is not 1000 dollars, and if you want to work it out we can. But we have to start with the water and work our way from there...

 

What I was imp was if he has done several grows and the water temps were the same without any problems it does not make much sense now does it.


Possible differant water temp from differant times of the year. Especially if you have not been monitering it. I know you mentioned in the past about the concrete helping keep the water cooler.


One thing for sure the colder that water is the less shit is going to grow in it.

Dude fuck I chiller lol , I use frozen Poland spring water bottles and rotate them out as needed. I use a cheap 10 aquarium digi therm lol. I'm cheap but resourceful

 

I have all the toys and meters, there isnt a thing i dont have or tried.....the temp it runs from 68 to 72, depending on the time of year......the entire grow space is 10x 12 and is entirely underground on all 4 sides and is a masonary room, a basement to be specific.....it NEVER goes above 68 AIR TEMP in the basement

 

Well sounds like u got all environmental aspects covered so I would have to speculate that there is something in your system that is the cause of this nasty slime ... Got any pics? Also have you seen any gnats f round? Where do you store your nutes? There's a cause it's just a matter of digging it up. I'm shocked that the h2o2 hasn't cleared it up ... What about a higher concentrate spray solution that you can spray the slime areas with? I have done this for fungus gnats that buried into my rock wool cube on my last grow... Can cause some foliage damage but shouldn't kill It. ...


I was reading up on h2o2 and it's not that it's poison neccasarily it's the fact that the extra oxygen molecule is makin it unstable, and because of the extra oxygen molecule if you over do I it can simulate a "draught" effect to some of the fan leaves.


So worse case senerio you can give them a heavy dose if there already being choked off to death by what ever fungus or bacteria problem their facing ....


Idk there has go to be a cause though so not overlook even the smallest details ..
