P.s I don't mean abusive heavy either lol don't take that way out of contest I mean heavy within moderate region to your usual, for the gnats the larvae was ll over my roots and thy were building up slime and I put about a cap full of 35% h2o2 with about 8 oz of water in a spray bottle and you could almost kinda see it eating away at the ungus as I sprayed it., then I rinsed the roots and gave me a new bath .... Lost a few sets of leaves but they recovered well within a week.

But no matter how you treat it or what you do it I'll not go away forever unless you ind the cause .....

Maybe between us all well be able to help you figure this out.

Ok, well i had a thought yesterday.....the only variable that i have changed out in the past few years in my RDWC rigs is .........The airstones......I ALWAYS ran with the "hockey puck" style ones from ACTIVE AQUA/Hydrofarm.......then I saw these other ones shaped like a CYLINDER ......so I started getting those and throwing them in............now that i reeeeeealllly think bout it, thats when i started having issues with the unknown slime

Also, within reading on THCfarmer, I found a thread that was basically the same as my issue, the guy posted pics of the slime, it all looks the same, ascts the same etc etc......

So another guy chimes in and starts to describe what goes on if theres TOO many airbubbles in a confined space and how those bubbles work and what they do to the solution.........from this guys description it kinda made sense to me, the way that these stones deliver the air bubbles is far more aggressive to the solution than the pucks provide.......also the pucks are much lighter in weight......the stones are very heavy and rest on the bottom, which in fact is the FIRST place that the slime/goo collects (on the stones)

My thinking is that the stones are aggitating the solution so much that it drastically disrupts the nutes ability to buffer and dispurse correctly, which in turn creates the boogers/slime, Im not eactly sure how it all works but it is extremely obvious that the slime has air bubbles/pockets inside of it as well

Im going to setup a RDWC system off to the side and run the PUCKS ONLY and see what happenes in a week
