How so? The only foreign terrorist attack on the US was during his presidency, and there have been none since Obama has been in office.....I am going with it is all luck.

You may be the only card carrying member of the Republican party on this board, but you sure as hell aint the only conservative. Just check out all the old politics threads! :smoke2:

Fort Hood was done by an American and neither of the others were attacks, but rather attempts.

Know they where attacks that failed & are you saying Fort Hood wasn't terrorism -Bud

    Thanks for acknowledging my genius.

And I am not defending Obama, which is what I think you think I am doing. I am just saying the only (i would add the words SUCCESSFUL and BIGGEST) attack against the US by a foreign terrorist was done during the Bush Administration......while they had warning signs.......So I don't think it is fair to say Bush kept us safe from terrorist.

And Fort Hood wasn't foreign terrorism, it was domestic, and happens more often than we like to remember.

While I agree with you that Bush was in office when they knew there was a Ft. Hood killer, I think the Army swept that one under the carpet or maybe it never made it to the big house? Don't think we will ever know the true story but to call it domestic? You do know he was in communication with some very dangerous people? Many many emails as Hasan was attempting to contact representatives of al Qaeda for at least the last several months before the killing spree at Ft. Hood.

Hasan also attended a mosque in Falls Church, Virgina while mosque leader and radical Muslim Anwar al Awlaki served as the mosque's imam. It was also suspected that Awlaki had contact with two of the 9/11 hijackers when he was in San Diego? I tend to think he was a homegrown terrorist instead of your international one. Domestic violence is not months of plotting with another person. Maybe you meant domestic as in an American who goes banana's or snaps? He may have being they were going to send him over there?

You know the government does not want the people to know they pretty much let this happen IMO for if they had all these e-mails? Not only did they hide it but they promoted him? Then 13 people are dead with many lying in the hospital.

The Muslim religion is pretty radical as a whole for I know a couple who left to come here for they did not practice it. If you do not practice it, you can end up in a box 6ft under. Then again we have other religion's just as whacked or cults for that matter so in America there is a melting pot of crazy mofo's just trigger happy to kill or get famous.

    SteelCity Smoker To Be Continued

GEORGE W. BUSH did nothing but further the corruption and corrosion of the American government. PERIOD. He fucked up the SEC he fucked up the economy destroyed the markets put unemployment through the roof with the previous 2 actions and made our military into a private military. We employ almost 2 times as many "contractors" as we have enlisted. These contractors are not only private security but Food Service, Laundry and a whole slew of other routine shit a soldier or marine should be doing. But no we sub it out to Halliburton amongst others but def. one of the majors. Wait who do we know that was the VP for them before he was VP of our country. Most people voted bush in the second term because the felt we had no choice. He started a war and we had to him do his full deal otherwise there would have been all sorts of chaos and lose of life for going halfway then pulling back. Bush was fucking cancer for this country don't you ever pretend to yourself he did well by the american ppl. Remember 6 months after he took office and gas quadrupled in price mysteriously and the oil companies were reporting record profits huh bush texas oil saudi's get the picture... That fucker could barely read the teleprompter right, that's embarrassing.

Obama is ok at any rate I think he was the lesser of 2 evils. He does some bonehead shit but at least he admits to a problem. Not ostrichism ask GWB if he was doing a good job the last quarter of his tenure i'm sure he'd say heck yes then chuckle like he always does.

As far as ppl being sue happy I don't know how you put a price on life and negligence. I just question doctors like why do they really need to make 2-3-400,000 a year for keeping ppl alive. WE all made a choice or were forced by some sort of destiny on what we do. Should they make a decent wage YES they work long hours and know a lot of information but when is enough enough. Not being able to get standard care at a hospital due to greed is disgusting. Being bankrupted from a hospital cause you almost die again why? It's a hospital they spend millions on research alone. They get shit tons of grants why do they need to gouge so bad.

    Rant off...Steelcity

    To clarify:

    1. I call it domestic because it was an American. The same with any other attack by Americans on Americans on American soil. That is domestic terrorism. Yeah, Fort Hood could have been motivated by radicals out side the US, but just as many attacks on Americans are done by radicals inside the US, Muslim or not: Columbine, Oklahoma, the DC snipers (Though Muslim, that had nothing to do with his motives).

    2. I mean domestic as in like I said before in the last sentence. I am pretty sure neither Mcveigh or Rudolph simply snapped and did not spend months planning their crimes, more so with the writings they made.

    3. Yep, fucking government knows a lot more than we will ever know. I am a believer that they let Pearl Harbor happen actually.

    4. I don't think it is radical as a whole. I think the countries with the highest concentration of Muslims are radical (and poor and 100 years behind us). That turns people off their religion if they are lucky enough to leave that type of situation. Otherwise the majority try to live day to day like everyone else.

Remember: Once upon a time Christianity held women, children, and beliefs in the same regard VERY similar to Muslims of today.

    Mermaid ~Sea Of Green~

Gotcha....figured you meant domestic as in an American who commits an act of violence. ;) LOL I just always think as domestic when it comes to men/women or even a family act of violence..haha

Oh I agree, they are very poor with no way out. Those who are able to leave are the fortunate which is the family I know. Extremely nice people which is why I can't say "all muslims are evil" because they are not. Many are forced into this life from birth & to go against their religion if in a populated area as you stated, yah they can be killed for not obeying. When I say they are the one of the most radical religion's, I meant those who live in the highest concentrated areas in those countries so your right.

Your not the only one who questions Pearl Harbor and even 9/11 because there are many loose ends to both stories. Take for instance Hurricane Katrina, kinda sketchy our country waited that long to respond? Or the oil spill and again our government refuses help from other countries? Why I do not trust any President, Government to want the best for the citizen's who live here. But we sure do a lot of campaigning for every other country to send help huh? Fast too! Each time you will see present & past Presidents united in a service commercial as PR to promote "Help Haiti"...."Help this or that country"...sorry as much as I love to help others, it begins at HOME. ;)

As for Christianity goes and how women or children were held in the same beliefs? Oh I know bro & you would be surprised how it still goes on but not in the same capacity. A good frd of mine who I grew up with just married a pastor of this very born again christian church. I went to the wedding which btw was a tad freaky but hey to each their own. They had a gig in the beginning of healing people, speaking in tongues and so on. Personally it looked like they were on a trip but haha anywhos.

At the reception, I watched women wait on their men hand & foot. Seriously they were cutting their meat before serving it to them? OK I can see doing that for a child but a grown man can't cut their meat? Even if I wanted to get my man his food, umm it would be because I wanted to be sweet but if he expected me to as a servant? Umm nada! I thought I had stepped back into time for a passing moment.

So when in the ladies room, I finally get a moment to chat with my bff to ask here ummm wtf? She responded with he is my light, he will ensure I go to heaven and then tells me verses from the bible which apparently state that a woman is to always serve her husband, never cross him ...blahh blahhh so I shook my head. I believe in 50/50 or 60/40 but c'mon?? Now mind you she used to get high with me right up until she met him, she was intelligent & funny, worked as a manager which he made her quit due to many household duties or church functions. Since she hooked up with him>>I barely know her nor do I even see or hear a glimpse of the once frd I had. She also fears me going to hell because I am not born again? She is a walking bible robot spewing words of her God & with no thoughts of her own. I wanted to shake her or ask her if aliens abducted her. Oh well if she is happy then so be it, I just feel that at times most religions or churches brainwash those who can be. Sorry if I offended anyone who is born again or a christian for I do respect anyone's beliefs....just don't push it on me. :)

Way I see it, any organization, church, group who controls you to take your thoughts over is a cult...period! :)

blech. that just makes me sick when that happens to people. Mermaid, I'm sorry you have lost a friend to the Jesus trainwreck. I'm like you - to each his/her own, really, but there's also a decency/reality line that some of them cross. I live in Mormon central (as does Geo, I'm sure she could bitch for a year too) and the subservient brainwashing that LDS preaches sounds just like your friend. I've actually heard another woman (Mormon) say to me, when I broached the subject, "we know our place". WHAT? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????

That's when I have to take a deep breath and just back away, and hope that they are truly happy with the life they live, and not think about it again. Because that type of shit really fluffs up my fur.

As far as terrorism in the US - as a figurehead*cough puppet* of the US, I don't think the pres has a ton to do with what the crazies decide to do. Maybe fear is established by some POTUS sometimes, but a crazy/fanatical person is going to do what they want to do, and not a whole lot will stop them. Arguing who and when and what party was in charge doesn't really change a whole lot, just divides brothers and sisters (us) where they should stand united.

I don't know how we got off topic, but I like the comments, and hearing different and similar viewpoints. :5grouphug: It's fun to light one and chit chat with everyone :passsit:

Wasn't the first bombing of the WTC in '93 considered a foreign terrorist attack?

I could be wrong but weren't all but 1 of the terrorists, Yasin, foreign born and not US citizens?

Just curious, I'm not trying to get in the discussion.

You are correct sir, and how easily we (I) forget when only 6 people were killed compared to the thousands on 9/11. And apparently the Uncle of the main guy who carried it out was the mastermind behind 9/11. It is funny, however, that they barely used the word "terrorist" when describing that attack, even though the word is completely appropriate.

I think this helps prove that terrorism, like some said, happens regardless of who is president.

Your right LL, terrorism thrives on American policy and not the Administration. Until the policy changes things will remain the same as far as the wacko asshole terrorist.

Of course when I say policy I'm talking about our support to and for Israel, which I strongly oppose.

man, i am in the same boat you are, my friend. I got out of there as soon as I could, and they just get deeper and deeper into it. I can talk to them, but visits are short and sweet. I still get a lot of flack from my father, who was the main thorn in my side.

It's funny - his church/beliefs that he tried to shove down my throat are the main reason I am an atheist. I suppose in that aspect I should thank him for my horrible childhood, otherwise it might have taken me longer to "see the light".....

Ofo your right, no matter if we shook a person they are 150 percent committed to whatever they believe in. Yep if it makes them happy so be it, just hard to keep those who used to be a part of their life in their world.

GT.....well at least you made a positive from such a negative childhood my frd. Thank goodness my dad was against my mother's family trying to force that religious crap on my brother's and I plus he saved my mom from it too. LOL my dad just tells them all he is coming back as a tree or plant...ah :) He truly believes he will because he loves to grow, loves the great outdoors. I would like to come back as a fish and swim all over the world. Hmm maybe a BIG fish so nothing eats me before I get to travel far... ;)
