I heard this one earlier today. blowing smoke on them will "germinate" them. germinate, in that instance, was supposed to mean fertilize your buds w/pollen as if from a male plant!!!!!!!!!! he's my boy and I hate makin fun of him but he Obviously doesn't hang out on GK so I guess it's ok. LOL

this a total myth as darkness is when all flowering is done and the leaf is what the plant uses to photosynthisis to grow bigger buds

i think one of my favorite myths is that miracle grow inhibits THC production, i've heard this from a lot of people and its just retarded. also i came accross something the other day so i guess this is a myth bust, but any way almost everyone claims that you get higher from a bong and that its better for you due to the water filtration. well i found an article the other day in some science journal about a cannibis study and they measured the amount of THC pulled through a pipe, water bong, joint as well as potential cancer causing substances. some how the test showed that with the joint and pipe you got more THC per volume as compared to the bong. as for things like tar it said you would get about equal through the pipe and bong but less tar from the joint if you don't smoke it all the way down. but as for just other mater in the smoke the pipe and bong were equal and the joint had more foriegn debris, makes sense though cause the paper, but i don't know i thought that was kinda interesting if i can come back across it i'll post a link.

Has this one been posted up yet: "Aluminum foil is a good reflector for your grow room." Since aluminum foil doesn't scatter the light it'll cause hotspots and not properly reflect light back on your girls. Flat white paint if you're cheap like me or Mylar if you've got the cash.

    I'll toss in a few:

-Roots will not grow in direct light.

-Urinate in your resivor. I don't even want to get into that one. ??

-Remove all large fan leaves so lower leaves get more light. (I know, it was covered, but I hear/see it all the time.)

-Stem training is worse than pruning. That falls into the same category I'd say..

As for the 24 hour light cycle.. it does work, however there is a point of diminishing returns. After 16-18 hours depending on the strain, you are just wasting money on your electric bill.

I'd have to say it really depends, you may get a little extra main growth but your overall root mass could be smaller, its happened to me before when i was growing skunk #1 about a year ago and i had two different veg chambers one on 24 one on 18/6. the 24 had a little bit bigger plants but the 18's had a bigger root ball at transplant which i thought was odd and then they seemed to fill out a lot more in flower than the ones started on 24 hr. I guess that could be due to the hormones and enzymes for meristem stimulation are most active at night from what i've read at a few places. my next batch of clones i want to seperate them and do the same thing and see which root quicker. i guess this test will help determine how valid the 24hr thing is. i'll let ya know when i do it it's probably going to be a few weeks though.

Although the mere thought of the menstruation fluid is as revolting as it may be, it is biodegradable. I mean the thought of cow shit on the tomatos is just as bad, imo.

The story of the woman who got busted is just f*****g sick, ewwwww. I'm a little skeptical that she was able to get the bag inside her without the cop noticing the moving around.

I would think that a switch from 24/0 to 18/6 before going to 12/12 would seem to the plant as a more normal photoperiod and allow the plant to "rest" while it makes its chemical changes seem logical and I would be interested in reading a study on the matter. If anything it might get the plant to bud a little sooner, which in turn allows for a more mature bud and thus more THC built up in the flowers. This is speculation obviously.

Finally, flushing the nutes about 10 days before harvest and having a slight defictientcy would logically make for a cleaner smoke. As for it causing headaches, I can relate to that.

I think he is saying because he didn't get to flush he's getting headaches.

No, I should have explained better.

I haven't smoked in a long long time because the last time I did I had a nasty headache. The feeling I had from smoking I could have sworn the stuff was laced or something, I was f**ked up for a good hour or two. Since then I've been afraid to smoke again.

I grow pretty much for my wife and as a hobby.

However since it was mentioned that smoking a ferted plant could give you a headache; that is what I meant when I said I could relate. It is quite possible the last time I smoked it wasn't laced at all and was just heavily ferted.

    Sorry for the confusion. :)

From my experience, i tend to agree with swarmy, i do flush my hydro, but only for about 24 hrs before harvest, because,'why would you want to starve your plants of nutrients in the last week or two, when they really need it?', Flushing yes, but for 2 weeks? No. One or two days is plenty.

Also on curing in jars, just let me say, i have a jar full of buds, been curing it 3 months now, i dont open it very often, as i have other shit to smoke, but man, it just gets sweeter and sweeter, I plan to cure this jar for 12 months as a experiment, sampling every 3 months.

    Starving the pants a little!

Allowing your bucket/Pot, to dry up likr the fucking sahara Desert, can be very good for feeding purposes.

As everytime you give your plants a feed, let em soak up all the feed possible that they can take, before it gets all dry n they cant feed because there is No water or feed left and its all dried up.

Then give them(after about a full 2 days after feeding) a nice big feast of bloom or whatever stage your at, allowing the plant, (thats very thirsty by now), to drink/soak up all the bloom comlex all the easier and quicker, rite up the starving roots, till they've soaked it all up, which they will, all the way direct to the plant itself....

So.... a lil starving the plants can be quite benificial toward them in a feeding manner anyways!!!

    Peace Out,

    UrBigBuddie.............:sign13: :punk: :sign13: :punk:
