If you dye your hair, do you also save a batch for the feet?:rofl6: Or is that your natural color?

You really need a pedicure girl!

    VERY nice bud BTW!:biggrin::ebert:

Can't see the feet if their tucked behind your head. I'd try to keep my eyes closed till then tho. A thought just flashed thru my brain...all I can think about now is the hairs bugging the shit out of the back of my neck and shoulders...shudders and shakes.:roffl:

    Final tally is here!

Mr. Thumb chopped and trimmed everything for me while I was away for work (ha ha no sore fingers for this girl! ;) ) I must say I'm pretty disappointed with the end weight. I had 10 plants total, and got under 10 zips. That's less than an ounce per plant. Granted, I had mite problems in both tents, but all plants survived, and we had no lost parts. The buds looked fairly robust, and they are pretty dense.

Our first go-around (which I seemed to screw up just about everything) we got a yield of 6+ oz from 3 1/2 plants ( I busted off a whole side of one when I dropped my carbon filter...) That's almost 2 oz per plant, and they took A LOT of abuse from my dumb ass.

I'm happy with what we got, but I am pretty confused on what we did wrong with that low yield. We were hoping for at least 2/plant again. :(

That's it for now, folks, won't be until next summer until we grow again (work)

Thanks for looking in on me, and any advice on the yield would be great!!!

Awwwww, sorry to hear you won't be growing again until next summer. Bummer sister! :(

I'd say your B/F ripped you off and he's planning a trip to Russia to find another girlie who doesn't smoke so damn much pot!:kidding:

He actually sold it to friends and had strippers over EVERY night you were away . . .

Or, the plants only yielded under a zip per plant . . . you tell me which seems more likely?!?!?!

    I'm just being silly!

I hope 10 oz's will last you until your next grow. You should start from clones, if you can find someone to hook you up. ;) :ponder: :) That way you could get in another harvest in the same time frame . . . basically.

I hope you and the B/F enjoy your bounty. You both deserve it! :bigok:

Rky...you remember the days when Jogging all began? We're old-timers dude! :roffl:

ofo - I have 600W HPS in each tent. (so 5 plants in each...) Same as last time. *scratches head*

Herb - thanks! it's a great technique, jogging. Thanks for the old-timers for discovering and honing the technique, so that us young-uns can carry it on successfully!:thumbs-up: I will def. do it again, as well as some more aggressive beatings on my ladies next time! :dom:

Rky - I'm a tad bummed I won't get to grow - it will be a year before I smell the sweet scent of a ripe plant! Can't smoke when we work anyways, so we'll have plenty to last! I have some fem wonder woman seeds, I think I will get some others, probably non-fem, since there's tons more options. Maybe some critical mass or something that packs more punch than my Ice and Blackjack. Maybe if our travels lead us to the east coast, we will make our way back home through Colo! ;)

thanks for all the support, all!!!

thought about that. my new grow room is going in my basement, and i've got water and drain in the space..... i've got gallons of soil ferts though.....not to mention a shed full of vermiculite - that shit's expensive! :5eek:

how long do you veg? or do you throw it straight into flower from clone?

Just from the looks of your plants I'd say the problem you're having with yield has more to do with the ferts and less with lighting or soil. Under 430W I had a consistent 2oz per plant.....600W should give you closer to 3oz per if done correctly. Getting back to the ferts.....seems to me that the nitrogen was too high in late flower. Try giving them good N for the first month of flower to sustain veg growth during the 12/12 stretch and then up the P & K during the second half of flower and drop the N way low. Let the plants use up what's reserved in the fan leaves rather than try to keep them green. It WILL improve your yields. Also....find ways to get the plants AS close to the light as possible. I know that with a 430W anything below 24" from the light was out of the 'sweet' range. Jogging is all about getting the horizontal 'fill' but if the canopy is too low then the plants aren't getting what the really want....:light:

Just suggestions GTWT.....you may be doing all of this right in which case the issue lies elsewhere.

Thanks a bunch for the tips, herb! :not-worthy:

With my past two grows in a shed, where i only visited every other day, it was really hard to get a good connection with what was going on. It's one of the main reasons we are moving to the basement next summer. (that and the freezing ass cold we constantly fought!!!) My houseplants do worlds better when i'm in tune with them - my ladies will be no different, no doubt.

As far as ferts/N - i did give them a small shot of fish poo around 2 weeks of flower, and then again at about 6.

I had a few issues with light burn in both tents, so I'm going to have to figure out the distance thing. Again, with my new room being in my house (my master bed closet) i can check on it 10 times a day if I want, and really dial things in.

    Thanks again :) :) :)

Don't sweat it GTWT. I grew one strain for something like 8-10 years. I could grow it in my sleep. Then a couple years ago started trying others. It takes me two grows with a new strain to get it dialed right. Add in new digs, new nutes, new techniques like you did and it could be 3.

    cheers hot hippie chick,

Hey GTWT, I'm going to be starting up an indoor grow real soon in an unheated old house I'm borrowing. So, I'm quite curious about the temps you were dealing with.

The lamp should warm things up a little bit and I was thinking about putting a heating pad under the grow tent, but besides that there isn't too much I could do.

What kind of temps did you have outside and what temps did the inside of your grow tent drop to? Did you do anything to heat things up at all? How much did it slow down growth, do you reckon? How long did you have to flower for, etc...

Seriously, any and all details would be extremely appreciated. I'm just wondering if my grow is gonna work at all.

How cold will you be dealing with Hank? I mean, how cold does it get there?

  17. Hank Chinaski

    Hank Chinaski Ruminating

It doesn't get so cold. It gets cold enough for snow to stay on the ground without melting for a couple days only like 2 or 3 times a winter.

According to one site I just found, avg. temps are (in fahrenheit)

    Nov. 52.7

    Dec. 44.2

    Jan. 39.74

    Feb. 39.74

This is a very good idea! It is both useful and creative. Breeders should try this one; an easy and less expensive way to grow buds.

    Exactly Res. :thumbs-up:

I've said for years now that it takes no less than 3 grows to really get a certain strain down. From there on it's cake. That's a good lesson for beginners to know, don't sweat it too much if you don't get full yield the first time around, or even the second....the 3rd time is the charm. :ebert:

Soon the experience comes and you get a little bit better at seeing the 'signs' your plants make but that just takes time to learn. That's the goal every grower should aim for. Then you can begin to get things right a lot sooner.
