Nothing wrong with the corporate life, it has its good and bad points. The thing I hate most is traveling. But pay is good if you find right place. Blazerwill, yeah, it's definitely cheaper to buy than grow, but it's a principle thing for me. Like having chickens...oh you get free eggs. Nope, your friends get free eggs, you pay for feed, treats, build coops, etc etc so it ends up being about $10 an egg that you actually eat, lol. Glad to see some doing well, it's hell getting old. I wonder if even worth doing a grow log here this summer. It will be my first legal outdoor grow, and like I said, it will be expensive. Trying to come up with the most high tech grow I can conceive of... definitely leaning towards high pressure aero in a 55 gallon drum with chiller. Just trying to understand the correct nozzle and pressure tank is a bitch because not much info outthere you can trust. Low pressure looks easy, but im more of a go big or go home type of guy. But what would you guys suggest for strain? and how do you avoid mites, and deer? do you think building a hut, with netting for side would work? also, what can I use for roof without blocking light? worried about doing this then getting raining fall and losing it to rot. But nice hearing from you guys
Outdoor hydro is a bitch on a large scale nip. I did 5 gallon perlite some years ago and wasn't impressed. I do a drip system. What you're describe ing is not recommended for you first time grow. As for mites the only tim i ever got them bad was when i planted between a row of beans an corn. I never had a problem with them otherwise. My advice for your first outdoor is KISS! good luck.
you don't think a chiller would cool one plant, drain to waste? I've seen some really nice industrial set ups ran that way, but it greenhouses. The main concern is nozzle size, pressure, and keeping roots cool, which is going to learning curve. the wife thinks it's stupid because it's going to cost like $500 plus any additional materials to keep deer and turkey out, which we have an over abundance of at our place. Maybe I will break down and become a dirt farmer for once. the thing that would suck with that is I don't know how to dirt farm, lol. 20 years growing is almost exclusively hydro and hempys. I'm going to be like million other folks looking for grow logs lol. Time will tell, its just nice not having to hide shit anymore. It's legal, kids are old enough etc. One thing I still laugh about is remembering arguing with folks here 10 years ago about it being legal, and I do think I was right. now that shit is legal. there's no money to be made. smokers might be freed, but at the cost of growers it's nice now because I don't need the cash, but it does suck that once our skills were worth something, now anyone can do it and it's a genetic race on best strain, or highest this or that, vs having a skill set to grow. I will always hate the fact that it's legal, because it took away someone's livelihood. At least most of here got to experience the golden age of growing, got paid, could get tips from other growers (unlike 60-90s), etc. Now pot is worth shit, and you have everyone and their mother is growing.
If yyou do dwc out of a 50 gallon drum you're going to get about 20 psi at your emitters. Thats perfect. You should just stick to dirt. Just make tga super soil. That shit works!
